Credit card data partnerships and licensing
The open facts are free and always will be. What takes the time — the redemption engine, the change record, the model behind each rating — is licensed. Here is exactly what that means, and what is never for sale.
What is never for sale
This list comes first because it is the reason our numbers are worth anything to you. If a ranking could be bought, nothing we sold you would be defensible to your own client.
- Paid placement, or any influence over where a card ranks.
- A rating, a review verdict, or a change to one. Not for money, not as a courtesy, not as a "fact-check window".
- Sold leads, or your marketing access to our readers.
- A white-labelled version of the consumer recommender for a card issuer.
- Early sight of anything that affects the public site before the public site ships it.
These are not negotiable at any price, for anyone, and they applied before this page existed. See how we make money and our editorial policy.
What we license
Everything below runs in production today. Where we quote a count it is what we hold, not a target.
Redemption answers
Where a balance can actually go. Every route out of a currency up to three hops, ranked by ₹ per source point — the compounded ratio against what the destination is really worth, not the biggest end number. Each route carries its frictions: minimum increments, caps, transfers the bank cannot make for you, and per-card ratios, so an IndusInd Legend is priced at its real 4:1 rather than the 2:1 headline.
Per query. Ask it a balance and a destination; get a ranked answer.
Card intelligence records
The full record per card, as it stands on the site: our rating and verdict, the biggest concern, rupee valuations of every perk and welcome bonus, and route-level point values by redemption method with the value gap between them. A licence buys a copy of that record, never a say in it — the list above applies to every line.
Per card, or the catalogue under agreement.
Change monitoring
A dated before→after record of Indian card terms — 1,600+ events across 315 cards (every active card, plus discontinued ones), each with an external source and a confidence tier, grouped so one bank decision reads as one decision rather than forty card rows. Issuer pages state today; nobody else states what changed.
Delivered as a feed or by email alert; a push integration can be scoped.
Portfolio answers
What a spend profile is actually worth on each card after caps, exclusions, merchant gates and fees; which card to add to a wallet next; and which held card to use at a given merchant.
Per profile. For an advisory desk, per client.
Valuations and the transfer graph
What each currency is worth in paisa and why, per-route ₹ per point, sweet spots, and the method behind the figures — including where a number is a model estimate rather than an observation, stated as such.
Feed, or per lookup.
Provenance pack
Every figure with its source document, retrieval date and archived copy — plus our own measured accuracy, including where we miss. If you have to defend a recommendation to a client or a regulator, the citation matters more than the number.
Alongside any of the above.
Who this tends to suit
Advisers who cannot take issuer money. If you are fee-only or zero-commission, the usual card feeds are closed to you — taking them contradicts your own positioning. Neutral licensed data is one of the few routes that does not.
Products that answer a points question. Wealth apps, banking apps and personal-finance tools whose users ask what their balance is worth and where it can go.
Newsrooms and research desks that need a dated, sourced record of what changed — and a citation that holds up.
We also work with issuers, on the record above and no other: the intelligence product sells the record, never the treatment of any card on this site. If we ever have a live engagement with an issuer, it is named on our editorial policy page while it runs. If we would be embarrassed to disclose an engagement, we do not take it.
How pricing works
Scoped to what you actually need. A newsroom wanting a sourced change record and an advisory desk wanting live redemption answers are not the same problem, and a single list price would serve neither well. So we price per engagement, against the scope and the volume you describe.
What does not vary is the list at the top of this page. Price is a conversation; placement, ratings and verdicts are not, at any number.
Tell us what you are building and roughly what volume you expect, and we will come back with a figure and an honest answer about whether we can serve it.
What you agree to in return is short: attribution, and no bulk redistribution, resale, mirroring as a dataset, or use as model training data without written consent. Show the numbers; don’t ship them onward.
Start a conversation
Tell us what you are building, who it serves, and which of the above you need. A sentence or two is plenty to start. A person reads every enquiry and replies, usually within two working days.
Just evaluating? The public API gives you the open facts with no key at all, and the full issuer detail with a free one — applied for in a short form and answered by a person, usually within a working day. The open dataset is free in bulk under CC BY 4.0 — including the frozen, citable releases. The open dataset will never be taken away.
