Once a week we write up the credit card news that matters if you hold a card in India. The changes that took effect on specific cards, each with the before and the after and who it touches. The rules and bank news behind them, from the RBI, NPCI and the government as well as the banks themselves. And what's coming in the weeks ahead, so you have time to plan around it.

How we write it

We read the bank's or the regulator's own notice before we write about a change, so we're rarely first, but what we publish has been checked against the source. Every change is dated by the day it takes effect. A write-up is a dated document: once it's out we don't rewrite it, and if we get something wrong the fix goes on the corrections page and into the next week's write-up.

For journalists and researchers

Every card change in a write-up is a row in our open record. The dataset page has the download (CC BY 4.0), the DOI and the field dictionary, and the API serves the same record live. Cite a write-up by its week, or cite the dataset. If you need a cut of the record for something you're writing, by bank, fee band or quarter, write to hello@cardadvisor.in.

We're independent. No bank pays for placement and no card is ranked by commission; the editorial policy says what that means in practice.
