ISSUER GUIDE
AU Small Finance Bank Credit Cards
A fast-growing range with a genuinely different idea — the customisable LIT card, the Zenith metal cards at the top, and Reward Points across the ladder.
Card data updated
AU Small Finance Bank isn't a scheduled commercial bank — it converted from a decades-old vehicle-finance NBFC in 2017 and still holds a small-finance licence. That underdog status shapes its cards: instead of matching the big four feature-for-feature, AU ships ideas larger issuers won't — a card you configure yourself, and aggressively-priced entry cards that undercut the market. All of them earn a single AU Reward Points currency. This is the full AU Small Finance Bank credit card range, what those points are actually worth in rupees, and where these cards beat SBI and ICICI.
What makes AU different
A card you build yourself — the AU LIT. Most cards give you a fixed bundle of benefits at a fixed fee. The AU LIT credit card inverts that: it's lifetime-free with a near-zero 0.25% base earn, and you switch on paid "packs" (₹49–₹399 a quarter) only for what you want — up to 5% cashback on chosen categories like grocery and apparel, or lounge, OTT and dining add-ons. Turn a pack on for the months you need it, leave it off the rest of the year. No other Indian card works this way.
Aggressive entry pricing. Chasing scale, AU prices its starter cards to move. The AU Altura is just ₹199 (waived at ₹40,000 spend) yet still bundles quarterly railway-lounge visits; the AU Altura Plus steps up to ₹499 for 1.5% offline cashback plus 2X points online; the RuPay Xcite comes in at ₹249. If you want an AU Small Finance Bank lifetime free credit card, the LIT, ixigo AU and Kosmo carry no fee at all.
How AU Reward Points work
- Earning — most AU cards earn Reward Points, accelerated on chosen categories: 4 per ₹100 on grocery and utilities (Vetta), up to 5 on shopping, dining and travel (Ananta), 5 on dining and international (Zenith).
- AU reward points value in rupees — 1 point is worth ₹0.25 (25 paisa) as statement credit, nearer ₹0.20 on the voucher catalogue. So 5 points per ₹100 is about a 1.25% return — match the card to your top categories, not the headline multiplier.
- Redemption — statement credit, vouchers and merchandise through the AU 0101 app; some cards allow flight and hotel bookings via the rewards portal.
- No broad transfer ecosystem — AU points don't convert to airline or hotel programmes at scale, so treat these as cashback-and-voucher cards.
The range
| Tier | Cards | Annual fee | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lifetime-free | LIT, ixigo AU, Kosmo | Free | Modular benefits, travel booking, UPI rewards |
| Entry | Altura, Altura Plus, Xcite, NOMO | ₹199–₹499 | First card, everyday cashback, credit-building |
| Mid | Vetta, Ananta | ₹2,000–₹2,999 (waivable) | Category rewards + first lounge access |
| Premium | Zenith, Zenith+, Traverse | ₹4,999–₹7,999 (waivable) | Travel, metal form, Taj Epicure |
The au ixigo credit card stands out: lifetime-free, 10% off ixigo flights and hotels (up to ₹3,000 each) and no payment-gateway charge on train bookings. At the top, the au zenith (₹7,999, waived at ₹5 lakh) was repriced in the January 2026 devaluation to 3–5 points per ₹100, while the metal Zenith+ leads on Taj Epicure and golf over raw earn. NOMO is the outlier — a fixed-deposit-secured card with a standout 0.99% forex markup.
AU vs SBI and ICICI
| Dimension | AU Small Finance Bank | SBI | ICICI |
|---|---|---|---|
| Entry pricing | Aggressive (₹199 Altura) | Standard | Standard |
| Standout idea | Build-your-own LIT | Scale + BPCL fuel | Amazon Pay + Sapphiro |
| Point value | ₹0.25 flat | ~₹0.25 | ₹0.25–₹0.40 |
| Transfer partners | Minimal | Multiple | Multiple |
| Service network | Small-finance, growing | Nationwide | Nationwide |
The read: AU wins on entry pricing and genuinely original products, and the Zenith is a fair Sapphiro alternative if you already bank with AU. If you want redemption depth, transfer partners or a nationwide service network, an SBI or ICICI card carries more weight for the same fee.
Who AU suits
AU rewards people who like control and value the offbeat: the au lit credit card for anyone who'll actively manage packs, the au vetta credit card or Ananta for category-focused mid spenders, and the au zenith line for AU customers who want a premium travel card without joining a big-four bank. It's a weaker fit if you're chasing airline transfers or a deep service network. Our lifetime-free cards guide shows where AU's zero-fee options land against the rest of the market.

AU Zenith is AU Small Finance Bank's premium card, repriced by the 1 January 2026 devaluation. The ₹7,999 + GST fee waives at ₹5 lakh of annual spend. Earning was cut to 3 reward points per ₹100 on most spends (~0.75%) and 5 RP per ₹100 on dining, international and grocery (~1.25% at ₹0.25/point) — down from the old 20X/10X rates — and the quarterly voucher and Taj Epicure benefit were withdrawn. It still carries spend-gated airport lounge access (8 domestic + 8 international a year) and a 2,500-point birthday bonus, but a second revision on 1 October 2026 raised the forex markup from 1.99% to 3.49% and cut the fuel-surcharge waiver cap from ₹1,000 to ₹100 a statement cycle. AU is now steering new applicants toward Zenith+.
Why it stands out Spend-gated lounge access (8 domestic + 8 international a year) for existing AU customers
Best suited for For AU Small Finance Bank customers spending ₹60,000–1,20,000/month who want a premium travel card without joining HDFC or ICICI. The lounge access is the draw; at a 3.49% forex markup since 1 October 2026 it is no longer a card to spend abroad on.

AU Zenith Plus is AU's metal premium card. It opens with a ₹5,000 brand voucher (or 5,000 reward points) and earns 2 reward points per ₹100 on dining, travel and international spends — with AU valuing 1 reward point at ₹1, that is a genuine 2% return on those categories and 1% elsewhere. On top sits a complimentary Taj Epicure membership on ₹12 lakh of net retail spend in an anniversary year, complimentary golf, BookMyShow tickets, unconditional airport lounge access and a 1% fuel surcharge waiver up to ₹1,000. At ₹4,999 it undercuts the older ₹7,999 Zenith while adding a metal form factor.
Why it stands out A metal premium card pairing a 2% dining/travel/international earn with Taj Epicure and golf
Best suited for For premium spenders who value Taj Epicure dining/stay privileges, golf and generous lounge access, backed by a genuine 2% earn on dining, travel and international spends — and who can clear AU's published ₹2.5 lakh monthly income bar.

The ₹4,999 fee waives on ₹6 lakh of anniversary-year spend. Eligibility is restricted to NRIs.
Why it stands out An NRI-only premium travel card with a 0.99% forex markup and global lounge access
Best suited for For Non-Resident Indians who spend across borders and want low forex, global lounge access and travel perks on an AU relationship — not for resident applicants, who are not eligible.

A 15% instant discount at Amazon Fashion, District dining and AU Rewardz hotels (max ₹500 per merchant a month), domestic lounge access and a 1% fuel surcharge waiver round it out. AU LIT is India's most modular credit card: lifetime-free, with a base earn of just 1 reward point per ₹100 (~0.25%). You switch benefit "packs" on and off in 90-day windows via the AU 0101 app, each pack carrying a quarterly fee of ₹49–₹399. Activate the right pack and you can earn up to 5% cashback on chosen day-to-day categories like grocery and apparel, or layer on lounge access, OTT and more; leave the packs off and you hold a near-zero-reward free card. It rewards users whose spending and benefit needs change seasonally and who will actively manage the packs — and underwhelms anyone who sets it and forgets it.
Why it stands out Lifetime-free modular card — toggle paid benefit packs (₹49–₹399/quarter) for up to 5% cashback on chosen categories; only ~0.25% base without a pack
Best suited for For hands-on users whose spending shifts season to season and who will actively switch packs on and off to match it. A poor fit for anyone wanting a simple, automatic earn rate.

AU Xcite Ultra is the reward-points sibling of the Xcite Ace — the same ₹749 RuPay card, but earning by transaction channel rather than category. It pays 4 reward points per ₹100 on offline spends, 8 per ₹100 on online spends and 12 per ₹100 on international spends, with utility, telecom and insurance at 1 point per ₹100. Milestones add 500 points on ₹5,000 spent between the 1st and 5th of each month and 5,000 points on ₹2.5 lakh of anniversary-year spend. Airport lounge visits (2 a quarter) unlock on ₹50,000 of previous-quarter spend, and the fee waives on ₹2,00,000 of annual spend.
Why it stands out Channel-tiered earn — 4, 8 and 12 reward points per ₹100 offline, online and international
Best suited for For online-first RuPay/UPI spenders — the 8-points-per-₹100 online channel (≈2% at ₹0.25 a point) is where this card earns its keep, backed by monthly and anniversary milestones.

AU Altura is AU Small Finance Bank's entry rewards card. It earns 2% cashback on grocery, departmental-store and utility spends and 1% on everything else — but both are capped at just ₹50 per statement cycle, so the real return is modest. The ₹199 annual fee waives at ₹40,000 of annual spend. There is no airport lounge access; instead the card offers 2 complimentary railway lounge visits per quarter (8 a year), plus a 1% fuel surcharge waiver and a ₹50 milestone cashback in any statement cycle where retail spends cross ₹10,000. A basic everyday card rather than a rewards engine.
Why it stands out Two railway lounge visits a quarter on a low-fee entry card
Best suited for For AU Small Finance Bank account holders getting their first credit card. The railway lounge visits add a touch of premium to an entry card, making it more aspirational than most entry cards.

AU Altura Plus is the step up from the Altura — a ₹499 RuPay card that pays 1.5% cashback on offline retail spends (capped ₹100 per statement cycle) and 2X reward points (2 per ₹100) on online spends; offline spends beyond the cashback cap earn 1 point per ₹100. A recurring milestone of 500 bonus reward points on ₹20,000 of retail spend in a calendar month lifts the take for steady spenders. It keeps the Altura family's travel touch — 8 railway lounge visits a year — plus a 1% fuel surcharge waiver. The ₹499 fee waives on ₹80,000 of annual spend (₹20,000 in the first 90 days waives year one).
Why it stands out 1.5% cashback offline plus 2X reward points online on a low-fee RuPay card
Best suited for For AU account holders who have outgrown the entry Altura and want a slightly richer everyday card — a mix of flat cashback offline and points online — without moving to a fee-bearing rewards card.

AU NOMO — "from fixed deposit to flexible credit" — is a secured card issued against a fixed deposit, so AU asks for no income proof, no documents beyond KYC and no existing credit history — the card is built for applicants with no bureau footprint, and reports to the bureaus so it builds one. It pays 2 reward points per ₹100 on retail spends and 1 point on utility and insurance, opens with 500 welcome points on your first transaction, and runs a milestone of 500 points on ₹25,000 of quarterly spend (doubled at ₹50,000). Its standout is a low 0.99% foreign-currency markup — rare on any card, let alone a secured one — plus a 1% fuel surcharge waiver. The deposit terms are specific and worth reading before you commit money — AU requires at least ₹20,000 in a solely-owned fixed deposit, held in cumulative, auto-renewing mode and booked for a fixed 24-month tenure, with a lien marked on 100% of its value. Joint, tax-saving, third-party and non-callable deposits do not qualify.
Why it stands out A secured card against a fixed deposit with a standout 0.99% forex markup, on Visa, so it works wherever Visa is accepted abroad
Best suited for For thin-file or credit-building applicants who want a secured card that still earns points. The low 0.99% forex markup is a genuine edge, and on Visa it works wherever Visa is accepted abroad — judge it as a cheap card to spend overseas with, not as a travel-rewards card.

The ₹100 fee waives on ₹75,000 of annual retail spend.

AU InstaPay is a lifetime-free, fully virtual RuPay credit card issued only to existing AU Small Finance Bank credit cardholders — AU's own FAQ states it is "exclusively available to our existing Credit cardholders at AU Small Finance Bank" (currently for a select base only). It shares its credit limit with your existing primary AU card but gets its own statement, and it is instant-issuance — activate it through the AU 0101 app, ChatBot, IVR or website with no physical card to wait for. Being RuPay, it links to UPI, and it pays 1% cashback on UPI transactions of ₹200 or more at departmental stores, dining, pharmacy and grocery/supermarkets, capped at ₹100 per statement cycle, plus a 1% fuel surcharge waiver. It is best understood as a UPI-spending companion to an existing AU card, not a route to a first card.
Why it stands out A lifetime-free virtual RuPay card for existing AU Bank credit cardholders — link it to UPI for 1% cashback, no physical card needed
Best suited for For existing AU Small Finance Bank credit cardholders who want a virtual, UPI-linked companion card for everyday scan-and-pay spending and a little cashback — not for applicants who don't already hold an AU card.
