Online shopping in India spans a wide ecosystem — Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Myntra, Nykaa for products; Swiggy and Zomato for food; MakeMyTrip and Ixigo for travel; Bigbasket and Blinkit for groceries. The right credit card can return 5–10% on this spend with no restrictions beyond a monthly cap. This guide maps the best cards to each platform and spend pattern. For the current ranked shortlist that updates as fees and rates change, see our live best online shopping credit cards page.
The platform-card matrix
Before comparing cards, the key question is: where do you spend most?

| Amazon (non-Prime) | SBI Cashback (5% all online) |
| Flipkart / Myntra | Axis Flipkart (5–7.5%) |

| Mixed platforms | SBI Cashback (5% all online) |
| HDFC-friendly ecosystem | HDFC Millennia (5% partners) |
| First card / lowest fee | SBI SimplyCLICK or HDFC MoneyBack+ (2.5%) |
Quick comparison

SBI Cashback Card — the universal online card
SBI Cashback is the most versatile card in this comparison: 5% on every online merchant, with no partner list to memorise. Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Swiggy, Zomato, Cleartrip, MakeMyTrip, Bigbasket, Nykaa, Meesho — all at 5%.
It is no longer exclusion-free. Since April 2026 gaming, toll and government payments earn nothing on this card. That is a narrower carve-out than most co-brands impose, but the "no category exclusions" line you will still find in circulation — including in earlier versions of this guide — is out of date.
Cap: ₹2,000/month cashback = ₹40,000 monthly online spend. Most users do not hit this.
Annual fee: ₹999 + GST. Waived on ₹2L annual spend.
Cashback: Directly to statement — no points, no portal.
Use case: Anyone who shops across multiple platforms and does not want to manage a different card per merchant. For a household spending ₹20,000/month online across various platforms, annual cashback = ₹12,000.
SBI Cashback vs dedicated platform cards: be careful how you read the 5%. It is the best broad online rate, not the best rate available online — on our catalogue at least a dozen active cards beat 5% on their own turf, including Axis Flipkart at 7.5% on Myntra, HDFC Tata Neu Infinity at 5% on Tata brands, SBI Landmark Prime at 6.25% at Landmark stores, and HDFC Swiggy at 10% inside Swiggy (on transactions of ₹249 or more). One correction to a figure this guide used to carry: the Tata Neu Plus card's own rate on Tata brands is 2%, not ~7%. The widely quoted ~7% is that 2% plus NeuPass, a separate loyalty programme worth up to 5% more — inside the Tata Neu app only, on selected categories, and only after registering against the primary cardholder's mobile number. Every other figure in this sentence is a pure card rate, so quoting the stacked one beside them read as like-for-like when it is not. The Infinity is the card whose 5% is genuinely its own. The quick-comparison table above already shows several of them.
What SBI Cashback wins on is breadth, not rate: one card, every merchant, no list to check. If your online spending is concentrated on one or two platforms, a co-brand will out-earn it and you should hold the co-brand. If it is scattered across a dozen sites, the co-brands cannot follow you and this card can.

ICICI Amazon Pay Credit Card — best for Amazon
Amazon Pay ICICI is lifetime-free with 5% on all Amazon purchases for Prime members. In addition to retail, this covers Amazon Fresh, Amazon Pantry, and Amazon Pay payments at partner merchants.
Earn rates:
- All Amazon.in purchases (Prime members): 5%
- Amazon Pay transactions (non-Amazon merchants): 2%
- Other online: 1%
- Offline: 1%
Annual fee: Lifetime free
The Prime requirement: The 5% rate requires Amazon Prime (₹1,499/year). If you are already a Prime member for streaming, delivery, and Prime Video, the incremental cost of keeping Prime for this card is zero — the cashback is purely additive.
Who should hold this card: Any Prime member who spends ₹5,000+/month on Amazon. At ₹10,000/month Amazon spend, annual cashback = ₹6,000 on a free card.

Axis Flipkart Credit Card — best for Flipkart and Myntra
Axis Flipkart gives 5% cashback on Flipkart and Cleartrip and 7.5% on Myntra. Importantly, it also includes Flipkart's ecosystem including Flipkart Minutes (quick commerce).
Earn rates:
- Flipkart, Cleartrip: 5%
- Myntra: 7.5%
- Preferred partner merchants: 4%
- Utility bills via BBPS: 1%
- Other online: 1%
- Offline: 1%
Cap: Accelerated tier (7.5% Myntra, 5% Flipkart/Cleartrip) capped at ₹4,000 cashback per quarter, per brand-group.
Annual fee: ₹500 + GST. Waived on ₹3.5L annual spend.
Cashback timing: Cashback typically posts within 30 days of transaction.
Ideal for: Regular Flipkart shoppers, Myntra fashion buyers, or those who book through Cleartrip. At ₹8,000/month Flipkart spend, annual cashback = ₹4,800 at effectively no cost.

HDFC Swiggy Credit Card — highest single-platform rate in India
The HDFC Swiggy credit card delivers 10% cashback on Swiggy — the highest single-platform rate on any Indian credit card in this comparison. This covers food delivery, Swiggy Instamart (quick commerce), and Swiggy Genie.
One condition to know before you split an order. Since April 2026 each transaction must be ₹249 or more to earn the 10%; below that it drops to the 1% base. So a ₹300 order split into two ₹150 orders earns ₹3 instead of ₹30.
Earn rates:
- Swiggy (all services): 10% — on transactions of ₹249 or more (April 2026 onward); smaller orders earn the 1% base
- All other online spend: 5% (separate ₹1,500/month cap)
- Everything else: 1%
Cap: ₹1,500/month cashback on Swiggy (10% tier = ₹15,000 Swiggy spend/month cap).
Annual fee: ₹500 + GST. Waived on ₹2L annual spend.
The Swiggy lock-in: Only the Swiggy app earns 10% — Zomato and other food apps fall into the 5% all-online tier instead. If your food delivery is split away from Swiggy, the headline rate is not really yours, and SBI Cashback's flat 5% (₹2,000/month cap) spreads the value more evenly.
Ideal for: Swiggy power users spending ₹3,000–₹15,000/month on food delivery and Instamart. At ₹5,000/month Swiggy spend, annual cashback = ₹6,000 on a fee-waived card.

HDFC Millennia — ecosystem card for HDFC customers
Millennia gives 5% on a curated list of partner merchants that includes Amazon, Flipkart, BookMyShow, Myntra, Swiggy, Uber, Cult.fit, and others — plus 1% on non-partner online and offline spend.
The difference from SBI Cashback: Millennia's 5% is partner-restricted; SBI Cashback's 5% is universal. If your spend is concentrated on Millennia's partner list, the rate is equivalent. If you shop across non-listed sites, SBI Cashback's universal rule is better.
Annual fee: ₹1,000 + GST. Waived on ₹1L annual spend — the lowest threshold here.
Best for: Existing HDFC customers who shop primarily at the partner merchant list and want the ₹1L waiver threshold over SBI Cashback's ₹2L.

SBI SimplyCLICK & HDFC MoneyBack+ — best budget / first online cards
For a first credit card or a low-fee online earner, two cards stand out at 2.0–2.5% — below the 5% leaders, but on a sub-₹500 fee and easy eligibility.
SBI SimplyCLICK (₹499, waived ₹1L): 10X reward points (~2.5% at ₹0.25/point) on partner brands — BookMyShow, Myntra, Cleartrip, Yatra, Apollo 24|7, Netmeds, Dominos, Swiggy — and 5X (~1.25%) on all other online spend, with the accelerator capped at 10,000 points a month. Plus ₹2,000 Cleartrip/Yatra milestone vouchers at ₹1L and ₹2L of annual online spend — read that carefully, it is not total spend, so an offline-heavy year reaches neither. A classic first online card.
HDFC MoneyBack+ (₹500, waived ₹50k): 10X CashPoints (~2.0%) on Flipkart, Amazon, Swiggy, Reliance Smart and BigBasket — capped 2,500 CashPoints (~₹500) a month at HDFC's ₹0.20 redemption value. UPI earning applies to the RuPay variant only, not the Mastercard. The ₹50,000 waiver threshold is the lowest of any card here.
Both sit a tier below the 5% cards on rate, but for a first card, a thin credit file, or a sub-₹500 fee, they lift accelerated online spend to 2.0–2.5% — against base rates of 0.20% on either card once you step outside the partner list.

| Mixed online shopper | SBI Cashback (5% all) | HDFC Swiggy (10% Swiggy) |
| Single-card simplicity | SBI Cashback | — |
The SBI Cashback + HDFC Swiggy combination covers the highest rates across general online and Swiggy-specific spend at a combined annual fee of ₹1,499, waived if total spend exceeds ₹2L.
