Eligibility

IDFC FIRST Bank publishes no eligibility criteria for this card — no minimum income, no age band, no credit-score floor, and no document checklist. That is not an oversight on our part: the card is issued strictly by invitation, there is no public application form, and so there is nothing to qualify for in the usual sense. Any income or score level in the panel above is indicative of the profile the bank extends the card to, not a threshold it states, and the same goes for any salary figure quoted for it elsewhere.

What actually decides an invitation is the relationship behind it — balances held with the bank, spend on an existing card, and the banking segment you sit in. We set those signals out in how to get an invitation above, labelled for what they are: observed patterns, not published criteria.

The concern

The ₹50,000 commencement fee and ₹25,000 recurring fee need heavy, travel-led spending to justify, and access is invite-only — most applicants will not qualify without an existing IDFC Wealth / Private relationship.

Frequently asked questions

How do I apply for the IDFC FIRST Private?
You cannot apply openly — it is invite-only. IDFC FIRST extends it mainly to its Wealth and Private Banking customers; speak to your relationship manager or customer care about eligibility. This card is issued by invitation only and the issuer publishes no income, age or credit-score threshold for it — there is no criterion to meet. Any income or score level shown on this page or quoted elsewhere is indicative, not stated by the bank. What decides an invitation is relationship value and internal screening. Figures as of October 2026.
What is the reward rate?
A flat 10 reward points per ₹150 on eligible domestic spends with no monthly threshold, 5 per ₹150 on international spends and 1 per ₹150 on categories like rent, utilities, insurance and government. Points are worth ₹1 each on in-app travel bookings and ₹0.25 elsewhere, and they never expire. In effective-return terms this card's best everyday earn is 1.67% on everyday spends — percentages here are the real return after converting points at their card-specific value, not the headline points-per-₹100. Figures as of October 2026.
What is the forex markup?
Zero — the IDFC FIRST Private charges no foreign-currency markup, among the very best rates on any Indian super-premium card. This card charges no foreign-currency markup — a ₹1,00,000 overseas bill converts at the network exchange rate with ₹0 in markup fees, where a typical Indian card adds 2–3.5% plus GST. Figures as of October 2026.
