The Beyond is Standard Chartered’s India flagship — issued only to its Priority and Private Banking clients. There is no open application: the card follows the banking relationship, and its fee is reversed only while you meet the funds-under-management bar.
How to get an invitation
- Join Standard Chartered Priority or Private Banking. Beyond is issued off that relationship — qualifying for the segment is the route to the card, not a card application.
- Bring funds under management to Standard Chartered. Beyond’s own terms set the bar at ₹50 lakh of FUM, and the ₹25,000 annual fee is reversed only if you qualify in the three months before it is levied — so the relationship both opens the door and pays the fee.
- Speak to your Priority/Private relationship manager once your FUM qualifies; the card is offered, not requested.
What issuers look for
- Standard Chartered Priority or Private Banking relationship
- Funds under management around ₹50 lakh+ (the fee-reversal bar)
- Age 18–70 (SC’s product page); strong credit profile
The age band is the bank’s own, from its Beyond product page; the other points are observed patterns, and any income or score level here is indicative.
Relationship-gated, not openly sourced. Joining fee ₹15,000 and annual fee ₹25,000 — the annual fee waives only on FUM qualification; there is no spend-based waiver.
In-depth review
Standard Chartered Beyond Credit Card
Standard Chartered's India flagship, and the only way to hold one is to park ₹50 lakh with the bank. Beyond earns a genuine 3.33% flat, carries a 2% forex markup and gives unlimited lounge access at home and abroad — but every benefit, including the ₹25,000 fee waiver, hangs on your Funds Under Management, not your spending. Judge the relationship first; the card is downstream of it.

For an existing Standard Chartered Priority or Private Banking client who already keeps ₹50 lakh or more with the bank for reasons of their own, and who spends heavily and internationally. If the ₹50 lakh would have to be moved to SC purely to qualify, the question stops being about the card and becomes a question about what that money earns sitting there instead.

- Strongest value if you spend heavily on everyday spends (3.33% back).
- Frequent travellers benefit from the included airport lounge access.
Pros & cons
✓ Pros
- 3.33% on general spend, matching the base rate of India's invitation-only flagships
- 2% forex markup — half what Standard Chartered charges on most of its other cards
- Unlimited domestic and international lounge access, plus 8 guest visits a year
- ₹15,000 in welcome vouchers (Taj, MakeMyTrip, Luxe, Fabindia, Ikea, Marks & Spencer) covers about 85% of the ₹17,700 all-in joining fee
- 2 golf games a month across 40+ premium Indian courses
- 25% off dining through EazyDiner (up to ₹2,500, once a month) alongside the BookMyShow buy-1-get-1
- 15% cashback at duty-free stores worldwide, capped at ₹1,500 per statement cycle
- Reward points redeem at a flat, published ₹1 each — no guessing what a point is worth
✕ Cons
- Cannot be applied for — issued only to SC Priority/Private Banking clients holding ₹50 lakh+ in Funds Under Management
- The ₹25,000 renewal fee waives on FUM qualification, never on spend, so heavy spending alone cannot earn the waiver
- Lounge, Priority Pass and golf are all withdrawable if FUM drops; Priority Pass and golf then stay retracted for a minimum of one year
- Fuel and ATM withdrawals earn no reward points at all
- Utilities, insurance, supermarkets, schools and government payments earn 2% — the same reduced rate the ₹5,000 Ultimate has paid on those categories since April 2023
- SC publishes no insurance cover on Beyond, while the ₹5,000 Ultimate carries ₹1 crore air-accident cover
- Points redeem only into the 360° Rewards catalogue at ₹1 each — no airline or hotel transfer partners, and a ₹99 handling charge per redemption
Eligibility
Standard Chartered publishes one eligibility criterion for this card: an age band of 18–70, set out in its Beyond product page. It publishes no minimum income, no credit-score floor and no document checklist, and the card is issued strictly by invitation, with no public application form, so beyond the age there is nothing to qualify for in the usual sense. Any income or score level in the panel above is indicative of the profile the bank extends the card to, not a threshold it states.
What actually decides an invitation is the relationship behind it — balances held with the bank, spend on an existing card, and the banking segment you sit in. We set those signals out in how to get an invitation above, labelled for what they are: the one published figure, and observed patterns for the rest.

The bottom line
Judged purely as a card, Beyond is strong: a genuine 3.33% flat rate, a 2% forex markup that is among the lowest in India, unlimited lounge access on both sides of the border, and a ₹15,000 welcome voucher that covers about 85% of the ₹17,700 all-in joining fee. Judged as a decision, it is not really a card choice at all — the ₹25,000 renewal fee waives on FUM, not on spend, so everything hinges on whether a ₹50 lakh Standard Chartered relationship makes sense for you independently of the plastic.

Standard Chartered Beyond Credit Card

Judge the relationship first; the card is downstream of it.
Standard Chartered Priority Visa Infinite Credit Card
A card Standard Chartered gives to its Priority Banking clients rather than sells — no joining fee, no renewal fee, ever. The golf entitlement (2 games, a lesson and a guest game every month) is unusually generous for zero fee, and domestic lounge access is ungated. The earn rate is the problem: about 0.5% back, and a 3.5% forex markup that turns overseas spend into a loss. Take the access; earn somewhere else.
Standard Chartered Ultimate Credit Card
The SC Ultimate still makes one of the cleanest offers in Indian premium cards — 5 points per ₹150 at a published ₹1 each, a 3.33% return that matches the Infinia's base rate without an invitation. But the offer has edges now: since April 2023, utilities, supermarkets, insurance, schools and government payments earn 2%, and fuel earns nothing at all. Price the carve-outs against your own spend before the flat-rate pitch sells you.

Beyond launched as SC India super-premium flagship
Not offered in India→Invite-only, FUM-gated flagship
Standard Chartered launched Beyond as its most premium India credit card, extending a product line already sold in markets such as Singapore. It is invite-only, issued to Priority and Private Banking clients who hold ₹50 lakh or more in Funds Under Management with the bank, and is not open to ordinary application. At launch it earned 5 reward points per ₹150 (about 3.33%) on general spend with points fixed at ₹1 each in the 360° Rewards catalogue, carried a 2% forex markup, and offered unlimited domestic and international lounge access plus two golf games a month. The joining fee is ₹15,000 and the ₹25,000 renewal fee waives on continued FUM qualification, not on spend.
