In-depth review
IndiGo Axis Bank Premium Credit Card
The top tier of the IndiGo × Axis co-brand — 7 IndiGo BluChips per ₹100 on IndiGo spends, 3 on grocery and hotels, 2 elsewhere, with a 5,000-BluChip welcome and renewal voucher, four spend milestones and a strong lounge stack, for a ₹5,000 fee. It earns its keep for a heavy IndiGo flyer who redeems into fares, but BluChips are a closed, dynamically-priced currency worth about 42 paise each.

Milestone bonus value
- Renewal voucher of 5,000 IndiGo BluChips and a 6E Eats voucher each year on payment of the annual fee (the matching welcome voucher is counted separately)
This is the card for a frequent IndiGo flyer who spends heavily — ₹8 lakh or more a year — and will actually hit the milestone thresholds and redeem BluChips into IndiGo tickets. The eight annual domestic lounge visits, Priority Pass and a 5,000-BluChip renewal voucher justify the ₹5,000 fee for someone whose travel and everyday spend both flow through this card. It is over-specified for a light flyer.

Pros & cons
✓ Pros
- 7 IndiGo BluChips per ₹100 on IndiGo bookings — the highest IndiGo earn rate in the co-brand pair
- 5,000-BluChip welcome and annual renewal voucher, plus a 6E Eats voucher
- Four milestones (₹2L/₹5L/₹8L/₹12L) add up to 20,000 BluChips a year
- 8 domestic lounge visits a year plus Priority Pass with 2 international visits
✕ Cons
- IndiGo BluChips redeem only toward IndiGo fares at a dynamic, unpublished rate and cannot be transferred or cashed out — the 7/3/2 earn rates are worth whatever your own IndiGo bookings return
- ₹5,000 fee needs a heavy IndiGo flyer and ₹8L+ spend to clear the milestones and justify the cost
- Only 2 international lounge visits a year, and domestic visits are spend-gated (₹50,000 in the prior quarter)
- Welcome, renewal and milestone vouchers lapse six months after issue, and Axis states it cannot extend the validity
- Axis charges a 1% surcharge on rent (uncapped) and on wallet loads, online skill-based gaming, utility and fuel spends past monthly thresholds — most of which earn no BluChips either
- Nine MCC groups earn nothing per the card's own T&C — government, insurance, utilities incl. telecom, rent, wallet, fuel, jewellery, bridge & road fees and tolls, and gift cards — plus every EMI type and cash withdrawals

How to redeem rewards
Ways to convert what you earn into real value.
- 🎁IndiGo fares: Redeem IndiGo BluChips toward IndiGo flight bookings at a dynamic, fare-linked rate. Neither Axis nor IndiGo publishes a fixed value; we model a BluChip at 42 paise. BluChips cannot be redeemed for statement credit or transferred.
What your IndiGo BluChip are worth
Realistic value per point by redemption route — the difference is what most people leave on the table.
₹0.42 per BluChip against IndiGo base fare; airline-only, and BluChips expire with account inactivity
The ₹5,000 fee only pays off if you fly IndiGo often and spend enough to clear the milestones — and BluChips remain a closed currency with no published rupee value, redeemable only into IndiGo fares at a price that moves with the fare, never transferable and never cashable.

The bottom line
For a heavy IndiGo loyalist the Premium earns its ₹5,000 fee: the 5,000-BluChip renewal voucher returns about ₹2,100 of it at our valuation, the milestones reward genuine spend, and the lounge stack (8 domestic + Priority Pass) is strong at this price. But everything hinges on flying IndiGo and redeeming BluChips — a closed currency with no published rate, which we value at 42 paise, reading 7/3/2 BluChips per ₹100 as roughly 2.9%/1.3%/0.8% in IndiGo flight value and nothing at all anywhere else. If IndiGo is not your default airline, a transferable-miles card gives you more flexible value.

IndiGo Axis Bank Credit Card
The entry rung of the IndiGo × Axis co-brand on the IndiGo BluChip programme — 3 BluChips per ₹100 on IndiGo, 2 on grocery and dining, 1 elsewhere, for a ₹799 fee that a 1,200-BluChip renewal voucher mostly offsets. Genuinely useful if IndiGo is your default airline, but BluChips are a closed, dynamically-priced currency worth about 42 paise each, so the real return is well below the headline rates.

Movie offer now needs Rs 25,000 of spend in the previous 3 months
Movie offer available to every cardholder, no spend condition→Rs 25,000 of eligible spend in the preceding 3 calendar months
From 1 November 2026 the card's movie benefit becomes spend-gated: you need Rs 25,000 of eligible spend in the previous three calendar months to qualify. A newly issued card is exempt for its issuance month plus the following three calendar months — but an upgrade between variants does not count as a new card. Only settled transactions count, settlement can lag the transaction by up to five working days, and interest, fees, charges, reversals and refunds are all excluded. EMI transactions count only at the monthly instalment billed, not the full purchase value.

Dynamic currency conversion markup rises to 2.5%
1.5% + GST→2.5% + GST
Axis raised the dynamic currency conversion mark-up on the IndiGo Premium from 1.5% to 2.5% plus GST, not to the 3.5% it applied across most of its portfolio. DCC applies when an overseas merchant offers to bill you in rupees instead of the local currency, and it stacks on top of the usual foreign-currency mark-up. Declining the rupee option at the terminal avoids it entirely.

New top late-payment slab of Rs 1,300 above Rs 50,000

Axis Bank added a fifth late-payment slab. Everything up to Rs 50,000 is unchanged, but a total payment due of more than Rs 50,000 now attracts Rs 1,300 instead of Rs 1,200. The same notice fixes the order in which a payment is applied to the outstanding: fees and charges including taxes first, then EMIs, interest, purchases and cash advances.

Tolls and road fees stop earning rewards; gift cards split into their own category
Bridge fees, road fees and tolls earned at the normal rate→No rewards or cashback on bridge fees, road fees and tolls
Axis Bank added bridge fees, road fees and tolls to the spends that earn nothing. Separately, gift card purchases move out of the Wallet spend category into a new Gift Card category; they already earned no rewards, and they continue to be excluded from spend-based fee waivers and milestone thresholds.
