6E Rewards XL IndiGo HDFC Bank Credit Card

The 6E Rewards XL IndiGo HDFC was the premium (₹1,500) tier of IndiGo's HDFC co-brand, and it no longer exists. HDFC's own banner on both 6E pages reads: "HDFC Bank Indigo 6E Rewards Credit Card and HDFC Bank 6E Rewards XL Credit Card is discontinued. Bank is not accepting any new applications … effective 1st Nov'25, all the product features and associated benefits will be discontinued on your card." Balances were auto-converted to IndiGo BluChip at 1:1 on the same date. While it ran, it earned 5% back on IndiGo bookings, 3% on grocery, dining and entertainment and 2% on everything else, with up to 15% at IndiGo Feature Partners, 8 complimentary domestic lounge visits a year (2 per quarter via the Mastercard programme), a ₹150-per-person discount on IndiGo's convenience fee and a 2.5% forex markup. The welcome benefit was a ₹1,500 IndiGo ticket plus a complimentary 6E Prime add-on. IndiGo's current co-brand partners are Axis, SBI, IDFC FIRST and Kotak — HDFC is not among them.

Judged on its merits while it ran, this was a capable IndiGo co-brand: 5% on IndiGo, useful 3% everyday categories, eight lounges and a welcome flight made the ₹1,500 fee easy to justify for regular flyers. That is now history. HDFC closed applications and ended all features on 1 November 2025, and existing 6E Rewards balances became IndiGo BluChips at 1:1.

If you hold this card: The card was wound down, not just closed: HDFC migrated holders to another HDFC Bank credit card, with benefits running only until 31 October 2025 or until your replacement card arrived, whichever came first. Your 6E Rewards were converted 1:1 into IndiGo BluChips on 1 November 2025 — redeem them through IndiGo, not HDFC.

HDFC’s own product page states: “HDFC Bank Indigo 6E Rewards Credit Card and HDFC Bank 6E Rewards XL Credit Card is discontinued. Bank is not accepting any new applications for these card variants… We are currently in the process of migrating the existing customers to another HDFC Bank Credit Card.” It adds that effective 1 November 2025 all product features and benefits are discontinued on the card, and that 6E Rewards convert to IndiGo BluChips 1:1. HDFC named no like-for-like successor; IndiGo’s current co-brands sit with other issuers.

In-depth review

6E Rewards IndiGo HDFC Bank Credit Card

HDFC has withdrawn the 6E Rewards IndiGo card: new applications stopped, and effective 1 November 2025 all product features and benefits ended, with holders migrated to another HDFC card and 6E Rewards converted 1:1 into IndiGo BluChips. While it ran, the ₹1,500 XL tier earned 5% back on IndiGo bookings, 3% on dining, groceries and entertainment, 2% on everything else, 8 domestic lounge visits and a low 2.5% forex markup. Anyone shopping for an IndiGo co-brand today has to look outside HDFC, to the issuers still running one.

The concern

The card is withdrawn. Existing holders lost every product feature on 1 November 2025; only the converted BluChip balance survived.

Frequently asked questions

Can I still get this card?
No. HDFC withdrew both the 6E Rewards and 6E Rewards XL cards on 1 November 2025 — it stopped accepting applications and ended every product feature on existing cards. Any 6E Rewards balance was auto-converted to IndiGo BluChip at 1:1 on that date. IndiGo's current co-brand partners are Axis, SBI, IDFC FIRST and Kotak.
Is this the standard 6E card or the XL?
This row describes the XL, the ₹1,500 premium tier. The standard 6E Rewards card was ₹500 and paid 2.5% on IndiGo, 2% on grocery, dining and entertainment and 1% elsewhere, with a 3.5% forex markup and no lounge access. Both were withdrawn on the same date.
What was the annual fee?
₹1,500 a year, with no spend-based waiver — HDFC's Key Fact Statement records the minimum spend for waiver as "NA" for this card. There was also no waiver on the joining fee. The renewal fee is ₹1,500 plus 18% GST — ₹1,770 all-in, which is the figure that actually hits the statement. Figures as of October 2026.
Did 6E Rewards expire?
Reward points were valid for 2 years under HDFC's terms. The question is moot now: all balances were converted to IndiGo BluChip at 1:1 on 1 November 2025 and follow IndiGo's BluChip rules from that point. In effective-return terms this card's best everyday earn is 1.26% on dining, against 0.84% on other spends — percentages here are the real return after converting points at their card-specific value, not the headline points-per-₹100. It reaches 2.1% at IndiGo (6E), and only there. Figures as of October 2026.
What did IndiGo bookings earn?
5% back as 6E Rewards on IndiGo bookings, and up to 15% at IndiGo Feature Partners. ⚠ HDFC contradicted itself here: the XL's own value chart published 5% / 3% / 2%, which is what we carry, while the XL landing page displayed the standard variant's 2% / 1% rates and carried a stale FAQ denying lounge access on the same page that advertised 8 lounge visits. The card-specific value chart governs.
