The HDFC Infinia is issued by invitation only — there is no public application form. HDFC extends it to its top relationship customers, and from 1 April 2026 continued access is tied to ₹18 lakh of annual card spend or ₹50 lakh of relationship value.
How to get an invitation
- Build a deep HDFC relationship. The surest route is a high Net Relationship Value — combined balances across savings, fixed deposits, mutual funds, insurance and loans. ₹30 lakh+ invested with HDFC, or a salary account with significant AUM, materially improves your odds.
- Qualify for Imperia or Preferred banking. Infinia invitations cluster among HDFC’s Imperia (₹30 lakh+ relationship) and Preferred tiers — get into that banking segment first.
- Hold and use a lower HDFC card well. A clean, high-utilisation history on a Diners Club Black or Regalia Gold builds exactly the internal profile HDFC screens for before an upgrade.
- Ask your Relationship Manager to nominate you. RM nominations are a genuine path once your spends and relationship qualify — request to be put forward for an Infinia upgrade.
What issuers look for
- Net Relationship Value ₹50 lakh+ (or ₹18 lakh annual card spend) to qualify and retain from Apr 2026
- A large salary account or ₹30 lakh+ invested with HDFC
- A strong credit record and a long, clean HDFC track record

In-depth review
HDFC Bank Infinia Metal Credit Card
The HDFC Infinia remains India's benchmark super-premium card in 2026 — best-in-class flat earn rate, an enormous SmartBuy redemption ceiling, unlimited lounges and a 2% forex markup. The January devaluation scare was rolled back; new per-cycle caps and an ₹18 lakh retention rule are the only real changes. Worth it if you'll actually use it; the only hard part is getting invited.

✕ Cons
- Invitation only — requires significant HDFC relationship (₹30L+ AUM or senior corporate account)
- 2026 retention rule: keep the card only by spending ₹18L/year across primary and add-on cards, or holding ₹50L HDFC relationship value (FY2026-27), else risk a 2027 downgrade
- Fuel, rent, government payments, wallet loads and all EMI conversions earn nothing
- Statement-credit redemption pays ₹0.30 a point and caps at 50,000 points a calendar month
- Best value comes from SmartBuy — users who do not book travel through HDFC SmartBuy miss the headline multiplier
Eligibility
HDFC Bank publishes no eligibility criteria for this card — no minimum income, no age band, no credit-score floor, and no document checklist. That is not an oversight on our part: the card is issued strictly by invitation, there is no public application form, and so there is nothing to qualify for in the usual sense. Any income or score level in the panel above is indicative of the profile the bank extends the card to, not a threshold it states, and the same goes for any salary figure quoted for it elsewhere.
What actually decides an invitation is the relationship behind it — balances held with the bank, spend on an existing card, and the banking segment you sit in. We set those signals out in how to get an invitation above, labelled for what they are: observed patterns, not published criteria.
How to redeem rewards
Ways to convert what you earn into real value.
- 🎁HDFC SmartBuy: Best value — up to 10X on hotels (~33%) and 5X on flights (~16.5%) via the SmartBuy portal. Book travel through SmartBuy for maximum reward density. (₹1.00/point)

- 🎁Partner Catalogue: Redeem for vouchers and merchandise via HDFC SmartBuy catalogue. HDFC publishes this as "Products and Voucher up to ₹0.50" — the ₹1.00 rate applies only to SmartBuy flights and hotels and to Apple/Tanishq, which are listed separately. (up to ₹0.50/point)
- 🎁Apple products and Tanishq vouchers via SmartBuy at ₹1.00/point — but capped at one Apple product per quarter and 50,000 points per quarter on Tanishq, both effective 1 Oct 2024
- 🎁Airmiles conversion at up to 1 airmile per Reward Point
- 🎁Maximum 2,00,000 Reward Points can be EARNED in a statement cycle; points are valid 3 years

New 2026 retention rule: from FY2026-27 you must spend ₹18 lakh a year on the card — primary plus add-on cards combined — OR hold a ₹50 lakh HDFC relationship value to keep it, or risk a 2027 downgrade. Combined with invitation-only access, SmartBuy 10X caps and periodic devaluations, the headline 33% is a ceiling few consistently touch.

How this page was built
Counted from this card’s own record: 6 earn rules, 5 of them capped, 2 paid only at named merchants, the spends listed as earning nothing and 5 recorded perks. The renewal fee is conditional — it is waived on a published spend target, so the fee you pay depends on what you spend.

Airport Lounge Access Guide 2026: Priority Pass, Airport Apps and Bank-Direct Explained
Indian credit cards offer lounge access through several routes — Priority Pass (international), domestic airport lounges, bank-direct tie-ups, and RuPay Lounge. The big 2025 change: Dreamfolks, long the domestic aggregator, exited domestic lounge access on 16 September 2025, and that layer is now served by airport-operator apps (Adani One, Encalm's HOI), EliteAssist and direct bank deals. This guide maps 25+ cards to their programmes, explains the boarding-pass requirement and the cost-per-visit math, and tells you exactly which card to carry at which airport.
Dreamfolks vs Priority Pass in India (2026): What Actually Powers Your Lounge Access Now
The Indian lounge-access map was redrawn in 2025: Dreamfolks exited domestic airport-lounge aggregation on 16 September 2025 after ICICI, Axis and IDFC dropped it and operators like Adani, Encalm and TFS terminated their contracts. Domestic access now runs through airport-operator apps (Adani One, Encalm's HOI) and new aggregators; Priority Pass remains the international standard. This guide explains who replaced Dreamfolks, how you actually get into a lounge today, and which cards still cover you.
HDFC Infinia vs SBI AURUM: Which Super-Premium Metal Card Is Worth It in 2026?
Both are metal flagships aimed at India's wealthiest cardholders, but they're not really the same product. Infinia is a rewards engine; AURUM is a perk bundle. The right choice depends on whether you redeem points or live in lounges, on golf courses and at Marriott properties.
HDFC Infinia vs Axis Magnus: Which Premium Card Actually Wins in 2026?
Both cards charge ₹12,500/year and promise premium rewards. The honest answer is that they stopped being close in September 2023, when Axis halved the transfer ratio the Magnus was bought for — and the fee waiver, the point value and the redemption ceiling now all point one way.
HDFC Infinia vs Axis Atlas 2026: The Benchmark vs the Better Ratio
One costs ₹12,500 and is invitation-only. The other costs ₹5,000 and is no longer issued to new applicants. Neither is a card you can simply go and get — which makes the comparison a question for people who already hold one, or are deciding whether to keep it. The surprise is that on transfer value the cheaper card wins: an Atlas turns 1 EDGE Mile into 2 KrisFlyer miles where an Infinia Reward Point gets you 1. Infinia's answer is SmartBuy, unlimited lounges and a 2% forex markup. Here is which side of that trade you're actually on.
How to Read a Credit Card MITC Document in India: What to Look For
The Most Important Terms and Conditions (MITC) document is the legal contract between you and the card issuer — but most cardholders never read it. This guide shows you exactly what to look for, the clauses that hide gotchas, and the specific sections that determine what your card is actually worth.
LTF vs Annual Fee Credit Cards India 2026: The Break-Even Analysis
A lifetime-free card sounds like an obvious win, but the maths often says otherwise. This guide shows when paying ₹2,500–₹12,500 in annual fees makes financial sense, how to calculate the break-even spend, and the hidden LTF downgrade trap that strips benefits without telling you.
HDFC Just Capped the SmartBuy Voucher Game at 3,000 Points a Month — Here's What Actually Died Today
From 1 July 2026 every premium HDFC card earns accelerated reward points on only ₹22,500 of SmartBuy brand vouchers a month, then drops to base. Infinia's voucher ceiling falls 80% (15,000 RP → 3,000), Diners Black Metal 70%. Flights and hotels are untouched. The exact old-vs-new numbers, the rupee value you've actually lost, why I saw this coming, and the three plays that still work.
What Your Credit-Card Points Are Actually Worth in Rupees (2026): NeuCoins, EDGE Miles, Reward Points, Decoded
A '1 point' is not ₹1 — and the gap between what a point is marketed at and what you can actually pull out of it is where most Indian cardholders quietly lose value. This guide teaches the one valuation method that matters — a point is worth what you can extract via the best route you'll really use — and works through the real rupee value of the currencies people search by name: Tata NeuCoins, Axis EDGE Miles vs EDGE Reward Points, HDFC Reward Points, Amex Membership Rewards and generic issuer points. It also walks you through the free CardAdvisor Points Valuator so you can see the number for your own card.
SBI Card AURUM
SBI's super-premium metal flagship delivers a genuinely premium bundle — a Club Marriott membership, unlimited international lounges, 16 domestic lounge visits and an unusually generous direct free-movie benefit — wrapped around a base reward rate of about 1%. A milestone voucher ladder can lift a high-spender's effective return toward ~3.7%, but you buy this card for its specific perks, not its everyday earning, which loses cleanly to the Infinia and Magnus it's priced against.
Credit Card Devaluation Tracker India 2025–2026: What Changed and When
Indian credit cards have seen significant benefit cuts since 2023. This tracker documents the confirmed devaluations on Magnus, Infinia, SBI Cashback, Axis Atlas, and HDFC Diners — what the benefit was, what it became, and when — so you can reassess your card stack against the current reality.
HDFC Regalia Gold: How to Actually Optimize It (Earn Caps, SmartBuy, and the Right Redemption Tier)
The Regalia Gold is one of India's most popular mid-premium cards — but after the 15 May 2026 devaluation most people still redeem points at ₹0.25 against statements and destroy most of the value. Here's the correct optimization hierarchy and why Accor ALL is the transfer partner worth knowing.
HDFC SmartBuy 2026: The Complete Guide, Updated for the July Voucher Cap
HDFC SmartBuy earns 10X on hotels (12.5% return) and 5X on flights (6.25% return) for Regalia Gold at ₹0.50/point. Full 2026 strategy: the new Adani duty-free, Drivado airport transfers, WooHoo gift store and Imagine electronics additions; the monthly cap; the one 'via SmartBuy' step that decides whether you earn anything; and when to skip the portal.
ICICI Bank Emeralde Private Metal Credit Card
A flat ~3% earner with Taj Epicure membership, unlimited lounges and a competitive 2% forex markup — genuinely premium for the ICICI wealth customer. The asterisk is the trajectory: two devaluations in 15 months stripped out rent, fuel, tax and government earning and squeezed utilities, grocery and education to about ₹33,000 of spend a cycle each, and the trimming may not be over. Buy the 2026 version, not the 2023 legend.
HDFC Reward Points Transfer India 2026 (India): Partners, Ratios and the Avios Hack
HDFC's 22 airline and hotel transfer partners don't share one ratio — but the ratio is the half of the story everyone reports and the wrong half to sort by. A 1:1 to Radisson pays ₹0.22 a point; a 2:1 to Accor pays ₹1.00. This guide prices all 22 partners in rupees on both Infinia and Regalia Gold, covers the Avios double-transfer via Finnair, the maths against SmartBuy, and when to skip the transfer entirely.
HDFC Diners Club Black Metal Edition
Infinia-grade SmartBuy earning, unlimited worldwide lounges, and a perk stack (Club Marriott, Swiggy One, Amazon Prime) that erases the ₹10,000 fee on its own — once you unlock it, which takes ₹1.5 lakh of net retail spend in the first 90 days. Available to anyone who can clear the spend, no invitation needed. The one catch is Diners Club acceptance, so carry a Visa backup. For high spenders, it's the best openly applicable premium card in India.
YES Bank Marquee Credit Card
YES Bank's most interesting card — a genuine ~4.5% online earn rate (36 points per ₹200, redeemed for travel at ₹0.25) and a low 1% forex markup in a polished super-premium package, with a rich welcome bonus, 36 movie tickets and golf. The catches define it: voucher redemption was devalued to ₹0.15 (so redeem for flights/hotels, not vouchers), domestic lounge access is spend-gated, the transfer partners are thin, and YES Bank keeps revisiting its premium terms. Worth a slot for the online-focused traveller who redeems deliberately; not a card to build a wallet around.
Air India Maharaja Club 2026: The Big Revaluation, the Vistara Merger, and What It Means for Your Points
Air India's loyalty programme has changed more in two years than in the previous twenty: Flying Returns rebuilt around spend-based earning, Club Vistara folded in after the 2024 merger, then a sweeping 1 April 2026 award-chart revaluation that cut most economy redemption prices while raising premium-cabin ones. It covers the new Maharaja Club end to end — tiers, earning, who won and lost, Star Alliance sweet spots, feeding points from Indian credit cards, and the old Vistara cards.
Credit-Card Points Transfer Bonuses in India 2026: Where the Extra 20–30% Is — and the Hotel-to-Hotel Transfers That Don't Exist
Transfer bonuses are the one time your bank points buy more than their standing rate — but they live on the program side, and only the right card can feed them. This guide explains what a transfer bonus actually is, the recurring Amex→Marriott and Accor promotions Indian cardholders chase, why you can't move Marriott points to Accor (or any hotel program to another), which Indian card feeds which program in 2026, how long transfers take, and the ratio trap that makes people overvalue a card on a rate that only shows up a few weeks a year.
How Accor ALL Points Really Work for an Indian Cardholder (2026): The ~₹2 Point, Reward Nights, and the Desk Tricks
Accor is the one hotel currency where a point holds roughly ₹2 for an Indian traveller — not because of a clever award chart, but because it has none. This guide explains how Accor ALL actually works from the inside: how points earn, how reward nights price against a cash-equivalent point, why the online 2,000-point blocks aren't the real limit, the front-desk tricks that squeeze the last rupee out of a stay, the status tiers and how they lift your earning rate, and why a euro-pegged point quietly appreciates as the rupee weakens. Feeding Accor from a card and the deep status products get their own guides — this one is the mechanics.
The Best Credit Card in India 2026: Why There Is No Single Answer — and How to Find Yours
There is no one best credit card in India. The right card depends on where you actually spend, how much you spend, and how you redeem. This guide teaches you the three forces behind every recommendation, walks each spending category, and shows how mid-to-high spenders build a portfolio — so you can choose for yourself instead of being handed a card.
Accor ALL Points Transfer Guide 2026: HSBC TravelOne's 1:1 and the HDFC 2:1 Route
HSBC TravelOne transfers to Accor ALL at 1:1 — the best Accor rate on any card you can apply for, shared with its sibling HSBC Premier. Axis dropped Accor in April 2026 and had it back by 25 September, but its better rates sit on invite-only cards. HDFC, Kotak and SBI all reach Accor at 2:1 — and because a Regalia Gold point is worth only half an Infinia point on SmartBuy, the Accor route is the single best way to use Regalia Gold points. Here is exactly how both routes work in 2026, why Accor points are worth more than most guides claim, and when to pull the trigger.
How I Paid an Entire Hotel Bill in Accor Points — 7,000 Points, ₹0 Cash
How to pay an entire hotel bill with Accor ALL points — no cash at all. Everyone writes about the suite life; this is the opposite: my cheapest-ever Accor redemption in India, a four-night stay cleared with 7,000 points and ₹0 out of pocket (right down to the food I charged to the room). The exact maths, the Flexible-rate and front-desk tricks the app won't tell you, and why a hard-currency-pegged point quietly gains on the rupee — a playbook you can repeat at any Accor hotel.
HDFC Diners Club Black vs Infinia: Which One Should You Actually Get in 2026?
They earn almost identically on base spend and both accelerate SmartBuy flights at 5X — the real SmartBuy difference is the monthly cap, 15,000 points against 10,000. The decision is whether you can get invited to the Infinia at all, whether you can live with Diners Club acceptance gaps, and which perk bundle fits your life.
KrisFlyer for Indian Cardholders 2026: Axis Atlas' 1:2 Route (and HSBC/HDFC at 1:1)
If you earn Axis EDGE Miles on an Atlas or Horizon, KrisFlyer is one of the highest-value exits your points have — Axis transfers at 1:2, so an EDGE Mile worth ~₹1 becomes two KrisFlyer miles worth ~₹2. HSBC TravelOne, HSBC Premier and HDFC's Infinia and Diners Club Black feed it at 1:1, and HDFC's Regalia Gold, Regalia and Diners Privilege at 2:1. This guide leads with the card-by-card feeder table, then explains the one thing that decides whether those transferred miles are spent well: Singapore Airlines prices its own-metal awards in four tiers, and the wrong one costs 80–100% more.
British Airways & Qatar Avios in India 2026: One Currency, Six Airlines, and How to Feed It From an Indian Card
Avios is a single points currency shared across British Airways, Qatar Privilege Club, Iberia Plus, Finnair Plus and Aer Lingus — so Avios collected on an Indian card can be spent on any of them. This guide maps every India feeder route (HDFC Infinia/Diners Black at 2:1, Regalia Gold at ~3:1, Amex MR at 2:1, HSBC TravelOne at 1:1, SBI Card MILES at 1:1, and the IndusInd Avios card that earns Avios directly), why Finnair is the smarter first hop, the €10 person-to-person backdoor, Balance Boost, what an Avios is really worth for an Indian flyer, the taxes to watch, and how household pooling actually works.
The Real Point-Value Index 2026: What a Reward Point Is Actually Worth on Every Indian Credit Card
We valued the reward currency of every point-earning credit card in our Indian catalogue. The typical point is worth 25 paise — not ₹1 — and only just over a fifth clear a rupee. The same point can be worth 25 paise as cash or ₹2 transferred to a hotel program: an 8× swing that depends entirely on how you redeem. Full index and methodology — free to cite.
HDFC Credit Card Ladder 2026: Millennia → Regalia Gold → Infinia Upgrade Path
HDFC Bank's credit card ecosystem runs from Millennia (entry) through Regalia Gold (mid-premium) to Infinia (super-premium). This guide maps the full ladder, the SmartBuy benefits that grow with each tier, and how to navigate the upgrade path efficiently.
Forex Card vs Zero-Forex Credit Card (2026): The Cheaper Way to Spend Abroad From India
A prepaid forex card and a zero-forex credit card both promise 0% markup abroad — but they are very different tools. This guide compares prepaid forex/travel cards (Niyo-type products) with the zero-forex CREDIT cards we track (Scapia, Fi, IDFC FIRST WOW), explains the '0% forex myth', and shows why for most Indian travellers the credit card usually wins on rewards, credit line and fraud protection.
Forex Markup on Indian Credit Cards: What It Costs and Best Zero-Forex Cards 2026
A 3.5% forex markup turns into 4.13% after GST — on a ₹5L international trip that is ₹20,000 in invisible fees. This guide explains exactly what the charge is, how to calculate the real cost, and which Indian cards (Niyo, Scapia, IDFC WOW) eliminate it.
YES First Exclusive Credit Card (now YES Bank RESERV)
The card that once paired the two things travellers most want — zero forex and unlimited lounges — no longer exists under that name. YES Bank rebranded it as the RESERV and repositioned it down: the fee fell from ~₹10,000 to ₹2,499, forex is now low (no longer zero), and lounge access is spend-linked. What remains is a capable mid-premium card with rare insurance/utility earning, best judged on its leaner 2026 terms.
Standard Chartered Beyond Credit Card
Standard Chartered's India flagship, and the only way to hold one is to park ₹50 lakh with the bank. Beyond earns a genuine 3.33% flat, carries a 2% forex markup and gives unlimited lounge access at home and abroad — but every benefit, including the ₹25,000 fee waiver, hangs on your Funds Under Management, not your spending. Judge the relationship first; the card is downstream of it.
Standard Chartered Ultimate Credit Card
The SC Ultimate still makes one of the cleanest offers in Indian premium cards — 5 points per ₹150 at a published ₹1 each, a 3.33% return that matches the Infinia's base rate without an invitation. But the offer has edges now: since April 2023, utilities, supermarkets, insurance, schools and government payments earn 2%, and fuel earns nothing at all. Price the carve-outs against your own spend before the flat-rate pitch sells you.
American Express Platinum Card (Charge)
Forget the reward rate — the Amex Platinum is sold on access, not points. Centurion lounges (the only India card that gets them), Fine Hotels & Resorts benefits worth ~₹44,300 a booking, hotel elite status and a concierge that works justify the ~₹78,000 fee for one specific person: the near-monthly international traveller. Fly twice a year and it's an expensive ornament.
ICICI Bank Emeralde Credit Card (Metal)
ICICI's 'almost-flagship' metal card — 4 reward points per ₹100, unlimited domestic lounges and a 2% forex markup, for a ₹12,000 fee waived at ₹10 lakh. It sits one rung below the invite-only Emeralde Private Metal, and ICICI's trimming reached it too: per-cycle spend caps on utility, insurance and grocery, and a spend-gated BookMyShow benefit. Solid for the ICICI customer who'll clear the waiver, though the return is a flat ~1.6% however you redeem — ICICI's 'up to ₹1 a point' is a ceiling it publishes no way to reach on this card. The Private Metal is the better card if you can get invited.
Best Credit Cards for Dining in India 2026: Restaurants, Food Delivery and Fine Dining
The best dining credit cards in India offer 10–20% off at partner restaurants, accelerated rewards on Swiggy and Zomato, and complimentary memberships like EazyDiner Prime. Amex Gold, IndusInd EazyDiner, HDFC Infinia and Axis Magnus each lead in different dining contexts.
Axis Bank Reserve Credit Card
Axis's most expensive card — a ₹50,000 near-unwaivable metal flagship — pairs one of the richest perk stacks in India (unlimited lounges, three hotel memberships, up to 50 golf rounds, a relationship manager, ~1.5% forex) with a still-high base earn of 15 EDGE points per ₹200 that two devaluations left intact even as they cut the airline-transfer value. Worth it only if you'll genuinely use the perks; for reward value, Magnus or Atlas wins.
HSBC Premier World Mastercard
Annual fee waived for HSBC Premier customers (a ₹12,000 joining fee applies), a class-leading 0.99% forex markup, unlimited domestic and international lounges, and ₹1 crore of travel insurance — with none of the spend-threshold games that clutter its rivals. It won't out-earn an Infinia, but for a Premier customer it's close to a no-brainer. The only barrier is the banking relationship.
HDFC Bank Regalia Credit Card
The card that taught a generation of Indians what Priority Pass and a decent reward rate felt like is now history — discontinued for new applicants, superseded by the Regalia Gold, and quietly carried by millions who have no reason to cancel. If you hold one (especially fee-free), keep it. If you want an HDFC card in this band today, the Regalia Gold is the answer.
Best Credit Cards by Salary Range in India 2026: ₹3L to ₹20L+
Your annual income is the single biggest factor in which credit cards you qualify for. This guide maps the best available card at each salary segment — from first-time applicants at ₹3–5L to premium cardholders at ₹20L+ — with specific recommendations at each tier.
HDFC Regalia Gold Credit Card Review (2026): The Sensible Workhorse, Trimmed
Still HDFC's sensible first premium card — but the May 2026 devaluation trimmed the earn rate to ~1.25% and spend-gated domestic lounges. SmartBuy hotels at 12.5% and flights at 6.25% keep the effective return well above the headline.
Best Travel Credit Cards in India 2026: Lounge Access, Miles and Hotel Points
A travel card is decided by three things: lounge access, a transfer programme worth using, and what you pay to spend abroad. This is every card worth considering for 2026 — what each one costs and gives, in one table, and the single reason each is on the list. It includes the two cards you cannot apply for, because knowing what the benchmark is has value.

SmartBuy brand-voucher earning capped at 3,000 RP/mo
Full 15,000 RP/mo via vouchers→3,000 RP/mo via Brand Vouchers
A separate, much lower ceiling now applies to Brand Vouchers (GyFTR/Woohoo) on SmartBuy — accelerated points on vouchers capped at 3,000 RP per month (~80% cut). The overall 15,000 RP/mo SmartBuy cap is unchanged, but the rest must now be earned via other SmartBuy categories.

Dynamic currency conversion markup raised to 1.75%
1% markup→1.75% markup
HDFC's MITC: "Dynamic currency conversion Markup Fee: With effect from 15th May 2026, a Markup fee of 1.75% will be levied on all transactions carried out in Indian Currency at an international location or at merchants which are located in India but registered overseas." This is separate from, and stacks on top of, the card's ordinary foreign-currency markup. It is the charge you pay for accepting a terminal's offer to bill you in rupees while abroad - always decline that offer and pay in the local currency. It also catches India-based purchases from merchants registered overseas, which is easy to trigger without leaving the country. The PIXEL MITC dates the same change 17 May 2026.

Retention tightened — ₹18L spend or ₹50L relationship
No published spend or relationship test for continued access→₹18L card spend OR ₹50L relationship value
For FY2026-27 (1 Apr 2026 – 31 Mar 2027), continued access to the Infinia programme requires ₹18 lakh of card spend (primary + add-ons) OR a ₹50 lakh relationship value (avg. balances across SB/CA/FD/RD) with HDFC. Non-qualifiers are notified in 2027 and may be downgraded or removed from the programme. ⚠ This is NOT the fee waiver, and the two were conflated here until 2026-08-16. The renewal-fee waiver for Infinia (Metal Edition) is ₹10 lakh a year and did not move — it is printed in the same MITC fee table this event cites as provenance (v4.5, Aug 2026: "Infinia (Metal Edition) ₹12,500 | ₹10 Lakh / Annum"), which post-dates this event's own effective date by four months. The ₹18L reached us through press coverage that made the same conflation.

5X on Gyftr vouchers→5X retained (change withdrawn)
HDFC announced a cut of Gyftr/SmartBuy voucher earning from 5X to 3X effective 16 Jan 2026, then reversed it via a SmartBuy portal banner on 14 Jan 2026 — before it took effect. Included for completeness: it shows the volatility holders faced even though the net value did not change.

1% fee added on rent, wallet loads and online gaming
No category surcharge on rent, wallet loads or gaming→1% on rent (cap Rs 4,999 per transaction); 1% on wallet loads and on online skill-based gaming above Rs 10,000 a calendar month (cap Rs 4,999 a month)
HDFC's MITC: "Rent Pay Transactions: W.e.f. 1st July 2025, 1% fee on transaction amount will be levied on rental transactions... Fee capped at Rs 4999 per transaction"; "Wallet Loading (excl PayZapp) - W.e.f. 1st July 2025, 1% fee will be levied on Wallet loading spends exceeding Rs 10,000 in a calendar month"; "Online Skill based Gaming - W.e.f. 1st July 2025, 1% fee... exceeding Rs 10,000 in a calendar month". These are charges on top of the fact that most HDFC cards already earn zero reward points on the same categories - you pay to spend, and earn nothing for it. PayZapp wallet loads are exempt from the wallet fee.
