RBL Bank Paisabazaar Duet Credit Card

The RBL Paisabazaar Duet Credit Card is a "duet" of a credit card and a personal-loan line, issued in partnership with Paisabazaar (earlier known as RBL Paisa on Demand). Cards issued after 1 September 2021 carry no annual fee, making the current product effectively lifetime-free. The card earns a flat 1% cashback on retail and online spends, capped at ₹500 a calendar month (about ₹50,000 of eligible spend), credited within about two weeks. Alongside the card sits an Xpress Cash / Paisa on Demand loan facility — you draw a chosen amount over your credit line via the RBL app and pay interest only on what you use, in EMIs. A wide exclusion list (fuel, utilities, rent, insurance, wallets) keeps cashback to core retail.

CardAdvisor does not issue cards, take applications, or act as an agent or broker for RBL Bank. Apply opens rbl.bank.in; your application is submitted to and decided by RBL Bank.

2026

  1. ▼ FeeObserved Jan 2026 · Effective 7 Jan 2026

New 1% fee on large FASTag top-ups and toll payments

No FASTag or toll transaction fee→1% fee on any FASTag-loading or toll-payment transaction above ₹10,000

From 7 January 2026 RBL Bank charges a 1% fee on any single FASTag-loading or toll-payment transaction above ₹10,000, measured per transaction per card, across merchant category codes 4784, 4111 and 4131. Because the threshold is per transaction rather than a monthly aggregate, it bites on one-off large FASTag top-ups rather than on regular commuting; splitting a top-up below ₹10,000 avoids it. The fee sits alongside RBL's existing 1% charges on rent, on utility spends above ₹50,000 a month, on fuel transactions above ₹10,000, and on education payments routed through third-party apps. It is a fee on the transaction, not a change to reward earning — these categories already earn no reward points on most RBL cards.

2024

  1. ▼ FeeEffective 15 Oct 2024

New 1% fees on large fuel, utility & education transactions

No 1% category transaction fees→1% on large fuel, high-value utility & third-party education spends

From 15 October 2024 RBL added, across its card line-up, a 1% fee on any single fuel transaction over ₹10,000 (capped ₹3,000/txn), 1% on utility spends over ₹50,000 a month, and 1% on third-party-app education payments (Cred/PhonePe/Paytm and similar). These apply to the Duet as a reward-agnostic fee even though fuel and utilities already earn no cashback on this card, so the practical impact is limited to occasional large fuel or utility bills.

Verification: RBL Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

2022

  1. ◆ BenefitEffective 8 Dec 2022

Rebranded and relaunched as the Paisabazaar Duet

On 8 December 2022 Paisabazaar and RBL Bank relaunched the card as the co-created 'Duet', replacing Paisa on Demand on the Paisabazaar platform. The core proposition carried over unchanged — lifetime-free, flat 1% direct cashback on online and offline spends, plus the Xpress Cash line-of-credit — so this was a naming and distribution refresh rather than a change to card economics.

Verification: CardAdvisor Research · Confidence: High

2021

  1. ▲ FeeEffective 1 Sept 2021

Annual fee removed — card becomes effectively lifetime-free

    ₹500 + tax→₹0 (nil) for new issuances

From 1 September 2021 RBL dropped the ₹500 + tax joining and annual fee on new issuances, making the current product effectively lifetime-free; cards issued before this date still carried the ₹500 fee. A straightforward enhancement — the everyday cashback proposition kept the same cap while the cost of holding the card fell to nil.

Verification: CardAdvisor Research · Confidence: Reconstructed

2019

  1. ◆ LaunchEffective 2019

Launched as RBL Paisa on Demand — card plus credit line

RBL Bank introduced the product as the 'Paisa on Demand' (PoD) credit card in partnership with Paisabazaar: a 2-in-1 offering that pairs a flat-cashback credit card with an Xpress Cash / Paisa on Demand loan line drawn over the credit limit via the RBL app. It carried a ₹500 + tax joining and annual fee at this stage and earned direct cashback (not RBL Reward Points), so the bank's reward-point programme changes never applied to it. Exact launch date undocumented — it was in market around 2019–2020.
