In-depth review
Paytm AU Credit Card
A lifetime-free RuPay co-brand built for people who already live inside the Paytm app — up to 2% on Paytm Scan & Pay (UPI), 5% on Paytm Travel and Paytm Gold, and a base rate on everything else. Its value tracks how much of your spending actually runs through Paytm. Off-app, the earn is ordinary, so treat it as a free companion to a primary card, not a replacement for one.

The bottom line
A sensible free companion for the Paytm ecosystem. The Scan & Pay and Paytm Travel rewards are the reasons to hold it, and lifetime-free status means it costs nothing to keep alongside a primary card. Off-Paytm, the earn is ordinary, so its value tracks how much of your spending runs through the app.

Off-app, the earn is ordinary, so treat it as a free companion to a primary card, not a replacement for one.
ixigo AU Credit Card
A lifetime-free travel co-brand built around the ixigo app — 10% off flights and hotels (up to ₹3,000 each) and no payment-gateway charge on train bookings. Because it costs nothing to hold, there's no break-even to clear, and the train-booking saving alone can justify it for regular rail travellers. Just know the discounts only fire when you book through ixigo — this is a companion card, not a primary.
AU Kosmo Credit Card
A lifetime-free RuPay card co-created with Kiwi, the UPI-on-credit app — its whole pitch is earning Kiwi rewards on every UPI scan-and-pay, with a small fuel-surcharge waiver alongside. If you already live in the Kiwi app there's no downside to holding it; if you don't, the app-tied, campaign-variable rewards make it a niche pick rather than a dependable category card.
AU SPONT Credit Card
A clean, no-fuss flat-cashback card built around UPI — 1% back, credited straight to your statement, on e-commerce, POS, contactless and scan-and-pay through any UPI app, capped at ₹500 per statement cycle. It won't out-earn a good category card, and the ₹299 fee has no published waiver — but for a UPI-first spender who doesn't want to track categories it's honest, low-friction value. Just know the airport-lounge perk is gated behind ₹50,000 of quarterly spend; railway lounges are not.

Paytm AU Credit Card launches as a zero-fee UPI-rewards co-brand
AU Small Finance Bank launched the RuPay/UPI-linkable Paytm AU Credit Card at zero joining and annual fee, following Paytm's existing co-brand pattern with HDFC and SBI Card. It earns up to 2% on Paytm Scan & Pay (UPI), 5% on Paytm Travel and Paytm Gold purchases, plus a 1% fuel surcharge waiver. Lounge access is booking-gated: up to 12 complimentary domestic-airport visits a year, earned by booking round-trip flights worth ₹5,000+ through Paytm Travel, capped at 4 visits per qualifying booking.

Fuel fair-usage terms tightened — trigger halved, levy on the whole aggregate
1% fair-usage charge once monthly fuel spends exceeded 50% of the credit limit or ₹50,000→1% on the entire aggregate once a single fuel transaction exceeds ₹10,000 or monthly fuel spends exceed ₹25,000
From 1 July 2026 AU tightened its fuel fair-usage charge: the trigger dropped from ₹50,000 of aggregate fuel spend in a calendar month to ₹25,000 (or a single fuel transaction above ₹10,000), and the 1% charge is now levied on the entire aggregate fuel spend for the month rather than the portion above the threshold. Fair-usage charges do not apply to international transactions. The complimentary fuel-surcharge waiver bands are unchanged.

New 1% fair-usage charge on transportation spends
No transportation fair-usage charge→1% on the entire aggregate once monthly transportation spends exceed 50% of the credit limit or ₹25,000, whichever is lower
From 14 June 2026 AU levies a 1% fair-usage charge when aggregate transportation spends (MCC 4111, 4112 and 4784 — local commuter transport, passenger rail and tolls) in a calendar month exceed 50% of the credit limit or ₹25,000, whichever is lower. The charge applies to the entire aggregate transportation spend for the month, not just the excess. IRCTC and select marquee travel partners are excluded, international transactions are out of scope, and AU exempts the ixigo AU co-brand variants entirely. This charge is separate from (and adds to) the April 2026 removal of reward-point earning on transportation MCCs.
