IKEA Family Axis Bank Credit Card

The IKEA Family Axis card was a lifetime-free store card for IKEA shoppers. It earns Axis EDGE Reward Points — 3 per ₹100 on IKEA purchases, 2 per ₹100 on dining, and 1 per ₹100 on all other eligible spends. EDGE points are worth about ₹0.20 each, so even the accelerated IKEA rate is a modest ~0.6% in reward value; the appeal was that the card cost nothing to hold. It bundles IKEA Family membership benefits and no-cost/low-cost EMI on IKEA purchases of ₹2,500 or more, plus a 1% fuel surcharge waiver. Categories such as rent, fuel, utilities, insurance and wallet loads earn no points, and there is no airport lounge access. Axis has since withdrawn it: the card's product page is gone (the old URL now redirects to the generic Axis credit-card hub), and it appears neither on the Axis credit-card line-up nor in the bank's sitemap — which still carry Axis's other closed cards. There is no way to apply.

The IKEA Family card was easy to justify precisely because it was free — no fee to earn back, so even a modest 3 points per ₹100 at IKEA (about 0.6% in EDGE value), plus the IKEA Family EMI and membership perks, were all upside for a regular IKEA shopper. It was never a serious earner: EDGE points are worth ₹0.20, the off-IKEA rate is a token 1 point per ₹100, and there is no lounge access. That is now settled anyway — Axis has withdrawn the card and there is no application route. Existing holders can keep using it; anyone shopping today should pair a real everyday card such as the [Axis ACE](/cards/axis-ace) or [Axis Neo](/cards/axis-neo) with IKEA's own free IKEA Family membership.

If you hold this card: You keep the card and its IKEA earn, IKEA Family perks and low-cost EMI — it is lifetime-free, so there is nothing to renew or cancel. Only new applications have stopped.

Axis has withdrawn the IKEA Family card from its line-up: the product page no longer exists (its URL now redirects to the generic Axis credit-card hub), and the card appears neither among the 48 cards on Axis’s credit-card line-up page nor anywhere in the bank’s 1,700-URL English sitemap. That absence is meaningful because Axis keeps pages up for cards it has merely closed to new applicants — Aura, Magnus and the Vistara cards are all still listed. Axis made no announcement and named no successor.

In-depth review

IKEA Family Axis Bank Credit Card

Withdrawn: Axis has removed the IKEA Family card from its line-up — the product page is gone and there is no way to apply, so this is now a guide for existing holders. It was a lifetime-free IKEA co-brand earning Axis EDGE Reward Points — 3 per ₹100 at IKEA, 2 per ₹100 on dining, 1 per ₹100 elsewhere — plus IKEA Family perks and low-cost EMI. The earn was always modest (EDGE points are worth ₹0.20), but with no fee it was all upside for a regular IKEA shopper.

2025

  1. ◆ EligibilityEffective 2025

Axis pauses new applications for the card

IKEA's own customer-service page now states new IKEA Family Axis Bank Credit Card applications are stopped, redirecting prospective applicants to check back later; existing cardholders are unaffected. Wayback snapshots show the page still offered a live digital application in April 2024 (pre-migration) but read "application is stopped" by September 2025 — so the pause began sometime in that post-migration window; the exact date could not be pinned down.

2024

  1. ▼ FeeEffective 20 Dec 2024

    Bank-wide December-2024 charges revision

A portfolio-wide Axis repricing standardised the finance charge to 3.75%/month (the Key Fact Sheet prints the IKEA Family card at 55.55% p.a.), raised the Dynamic Currency Conversion markup from 1% to 1.5%, took the branch cash-payment fee from ₹100 to ₹175, removed the ₹1,500 cap on the 1% rent surcharge, and added 1% fees on wallet loads above ₹10,000, fuel above ₹50,000 and utilities above ₹25,000 per statement cycle. The EDGE fees introduced in the same revision do NOT apply here: Axis exempted the IKEA Family Credit Card from both the ₹99 EDGE Rewards redemption fee and the ₹199 points/miles-to-partner conversion fee, alongside Burgundy Private, Olympus, Primus, Rewards, Cashback, Horizon and IndianOil Premium. ⚠ That exemption is reported consistently by Business Today and Live From A Lounge but could not be confirmed in an Axis-published document — Axis's own EDGE redemption-fee policy PDF now 404s on both axisbank.com and axis.bank.in, and the sole Wayback capture redirects to an error page.

Migrated from Citi to Axis Bank

Axis Bank completed its acquisition of Citibank India's consumer business and folded the IKEA Family Credit Card by Citi into the Axis EDGE Rewards program. Existing Citi Reward Points converted 1:1 into EDGE Reward Points; card number, PIN and CVV stayed the same through cutover.
