Axis Bank Rewards Credit Card

The Axis Bank Rewards Credit Card is a ₹1,000 EDGE Reward Points card that earns a modest base of 2 points per ₹125 (≈0.3% in value) and an accelerated 10X — 20 points per ₹125 (≈3.2%) — at apparel and departmental stores, capped at ₹7,000 of that spend a statement month (1,120 points). A milestone adds 1,500 points (≈₹300) in any statement month you spend ₹30,000 — Axis's own value chart assumes that happens about three times a year, so budget roughly ₹900 rather than a full ₹3,600 — and each anniversary bundles memberships worth up to ₹1,000, paid only if you pay the annual fee. EDGE points are worth roughly ₹0.20 each on the rewards catalogue. A 5,000-point welcome benefit (≈₹1,000) on ₹1,000 of spend in the first month covers most of the ₹1,180 all-in joining fee, and the ₹1,000 renewal waives at ₹2 lakh of annual spend.

In-depth review

Axis Bank Rewards Credit Card

A ₹1,000 EDGE Reward Points card whose one real edge is 10X points at apparel and departmental stores, capped at roughly ₹7,000 of that spend a month. The base rate is a thin ~0.3% in value, so the card only makes sense if you'll consistently fill the 10X category cap; otherwise a stronger everyday earner is the smarter buy.

For shoppers who spend meaningfully on clothing and department stores each month and will actually fill the 10X cap — for anyone else the modest base rate makes the fee hard to justify.

The concern

Outside apparel and departmental stores the base rate is only about 0.3% in value, so the card is dead weight unless you consistently max the 10X category cap.

Frequently asked questions

What is the reward rate?
2 EDGE Reward Points per ₹125 on all spends (≈0.3% in value), rising to 10X — 20 points per ₹125 (≈3.2%) — at apparel and departmental stores, capped around ₹7,000 of that spend a month. In effective-return terms this card's best everyday earn is 0.32% on everyday spends — percentages here are the real return after converting points at their card-specific value, not the headline points-per-₹100. It reaches 3.2% at Department stores, misc general merchandise, family clothing and apparel/accessory outlets, identified by merchant category code, and only there. Figures as of October 2026.
What is one EDGE Reward Point worth?
Roughly ₹0.20 when redeemed on the Axis EDGE rewards catalogue for vouchers and products.
How does the ₹30,000 milestone work?
1,500 EDGE Reward Points (≈₹300) in any statement month in which you spend ₹30,000 of eligible spend — it is a per-cycle gate, not an annual one, so a big month does not carry over to a quiet one. Axis's own value chart assumes an average holder clears it about three times a year, worth roughly ₹900; ₹3,600 needs all twelve cycles. Rent, wallet loads, fuel, utilities, insurance, education, government payments and EMIs do not count toward it. The current milestone schedule: 1,500 EDGE Reward Points (≈₹300) in any statement month with ₹30,000 of eligible spend. Axis's own value chart assumes this is reached about 3 times a year, so roughly ₹900 — ₹3,600 only if you clear ₹30,000 every single cycle. Fully hit, that is worth about ₹900 a year on top of regular earn. Figures as of October 2026.
Does it have lounge access?
Yes — 2 complimentary domestic lounge visits each quarter, subject to ₹50,000 of spend in the previous 3 months. There is no international lounge access. As per the card's current benefit schedule: 2 complimentary domestic airport lounge visits a quarter on ₹50,000 of spend in the previous 3 months; no international lounge access. Figures as of October 2026.
What is the fee and how is it waived?
A 5,000-point welcome benefit (≈₹1,000) on ₹1,000 of spend in the first month covers most of the ₹1,180 all-in joining fee (₹1,000 + GST); the renewal fee waives at ₹2 lakh of annual spend. The renewal fee is ₹1,000 plus 18% GST — ₹1,180 all-in, which is the figure that actually hits the statement. Spending ₹2,00,000 in the card year waives the renewal fee — about ₹16,667 a month. Figures as of October 2026.
How will Axis apply my payment across the outstanding balance from 28 August 2026?
From 28 August 2026 Axis clears a credit card payment in this order — fees and charges including taxes, then EMIs, then interest charges, then purchase transactions, and cash advances last. That swaps the final two: the order it replaced cleared cash advances fourth and purchases last. It only bites if you pay less than the full statement balance, because a part-payment now settles purchases before it reaches a cash advance — and Axis charges interest on a cash advance from the day of withdrawal, with no interest-free period, so the costliest balance is the one left outstanding longest. Paying the statement balance in full makes the order irrelevant.

The bottom line

The Rewards card lives or dies on one benefit: 10X points at apparel and departmental stores. Fill that ~₹7,000 monthly cap and it earns its keep; ignore it and you are left with a thin 0.3% base and a ₹1,000 fee. The monthly milestone and anniversary memberships help at the margin, but this is a narrow tool. If you want a stronger everyday earn at a similar fee, the [Axis Select](/cards/axis-select) accelerator or the ₹499 [Axis ACE](/cards/axis-ace), whose fee waives at ₹2 lakh of spend, are usually the better buys unless your wardrobe spend is genuinely high.

How this page was built

Counted from this card’s own record: 2 earn rules, 1 of them capped, 1 paid only at named merchants, the spends listed as earning nothing and 3 recorded perks. The renewal fee is conditional — it is waived on a published spend target, so the fee you pay depends on what you spend.

  1. ▲ TransferEffective 22 Sept 2026

Accor ALL returns as a transfer partner, in Group A

Accor ALL unavailable since 2 April 2026→Accor ALL back, in Group A

Accor Live Limitless is back in the EDGE transfer table, almost six months after Axis removed it on 2 April 2026. It returns in Group A, so it shares the smaller annual cap, and on several cards at a less generous ratio than the card gives its airline partners; the Atlas, for instance, moves 2 EDGE Miles into 1 Accor point where most of its airlines get 1 into 2. Check the card's own transfer table before planning a large transfer.

Cathay Asia Miles, Lufthansa Miles & More and Hilton Honors added

None of the three available→Asia Miles in Group A; Miles & More and Hilton Honors in Group B

Three new programmes joined the EDGE transfer table in the same overnight change. Cathay Pacific Asia Miles sits in Group A with the smaller annual cap; Lufthansa Miles & More and Hilton Honors sit in Group B with the larger one. Ratios vary by card.

Verification: Axis Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

  3. ▼ TransferEffective 22 Sept 2026

Club ITC removed as a transfer partner

    Club ITC available→Club ITC removed

Axis dropped Club ITC from its EDGE transfer table in the same overnight change. It had been one of the better-value hotel routes left after the April 2026 cut, since ITC points redeem against stays and dining at ITC hotels in India.

Verification: Axis Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

  4. ▼ TransferEffective 22 Sept 2026

Flying Blue, Air India and Qantas moved into the smaller Group A transfer cap

Group B (the larger annual transfer allowance)→Group A (a quarter of the Group B allowance); ratios unchanged

Axis moved Air France-KLM Flying Blue, Air India Maharaja Club and Qantas Frequent Flyer from Group B to Group A of its EDGE transfer partners, overnight and without notice. The conversion ratios did not change, but Group A carries a quarter of the Group B annual allowance, so far fewer points can reach these three programmes each year. On the Atlas, for example, the most that can go to Air India in a calendar year falls from 1,20,000 EDGE Miles to 30,000.

Verification: Axis Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

  5. ▼ FeeObserved 29 Jul 2026 · Effective 28 Aug 2026

Dynamic currency conversion markup more than doubles to 3.5%

    1.5% + GST→3.5% + GST

Axis Bank raised the dynamic currency conversion mark-up from 1.5% to 3.5% plus GST. DCC applies when an overseas merchant offers to bill you in rupees instead of the local currency, and it stacks on top of the usual foreign-currency mark-up. Declining the rupee option at the terminal and paying in the local currency avoids the charge entirely.
