SpiceJet Axis Bank Voyage Credit Card

The SpiceJet Axis Bank Voyage card is the entry tier of Axis and SpiceJet's co-brand pair. It earns SpiceClub points — worth about ₹0.50 each, a rate Axis's own Value Charts confirm — at up to 18 points per ₹200 on SpiceJet bookings (an effective ~4.5% back), 6 points per ₹200 on online food orders, bill payments and entertainment, and 3 points per ₹200 on everything else, general e-commerce included. Axis publishes no fee waiver. The welcome benefit is a ₹1,500 SpiceJet voucher after two transactions in 30 days, plus SpiceClub Silver membership. Milestones add 2,000 points at ₹1 lakh and a further 3,000 at ₹2 lakh of annual spend, and renewal returns 1,000 points. It includes four spend-gated domestic lounge visits a year and a 1% fuel surcharge waiver. Fuel, wallet loads and EMI conversions earn nothing. The elephant in the room is SpiceJet itself: the airline's well-documented financial and operational troubles make a currency locked to its flights a genuine risk to weigh before you commit.

In-depth review

SpiceJet Axis Bank Voyage Credit Card

A low-fee SpiceJet co-brand earning SpiceClub points — up to 18 per ₹200 on SpiceJet bookings (~4.5% value) — with a ₹1,500 welcome flight voucher and four spend-gated lounge visits. The earn is fine; the catch is that every point is locked to SpiceJet, an airline whose reliability has been persistently troubled. A card for committed SpiceJet regulars, not a general travel card.

The concern

SpiceClub points are locked to a single airline whose financial and operational stability has been repeatedly in question — co-brand risk here is real, and points you cannot redeem on a flight are worth little.

Frequently asked questions

What is a SpiceClub point worth?
SpiceClub points are worth roughly ₹0.50 each when redeemed against SpiceJet bookings. You earn up to 18 per ₹200 on SpiceJet spends — an effective ~4.5% — but the value depends on being able to book and fly SpiceJet. In effective-return terms this card's best everyday earn is 1.5% on dining, against 0.75% on other spends — percentages here are the real return after converting points at their card-specific value, not the headline points-per-₹100. It reaches 4.5% at SpiceJet, and only there. Figures as of October 2026.
What is the welcome benefit?
A ₹1,500 SpiceJet flight voucher after two transactions within 30 days of issuance, plus complimentary SpiceClub Silver membership. The welcome benefit is currently valued at about ₹1,500 against a joining fee of ₹885 all-in (incl. GST) — a first-year net of roughly ₹615 in your favour before any spend-based rewards. Figures as of October 2026.
Is the SpiceJet co-brand a risk?
Because SpiceClub points can only be redeemed on SpiceJet, their value depends entirely on the airline operating the flights you want. SpiceJet's financial and operational troubles are well documented, so the co-brand risk is real — weigh it before committing your spend.
Is the annual fee waived on any spend?
There is no fee waiver. Axis's fees table carries a ₹750 joining fee and a ₹750 annual fee from the second year with no spend-based waiver row, and its own Value Chart still charges the fee at ₹2.5 lakh of annual spend. What spend does buy you is the milestones — 2,000 points at ₹1 lakh and 3,000 more at ₹2 lakh — plus 1,000 points on each renewal. The renewal fee is ₹750 plus 18% GST — ₹885 all-in, which is the figure that actually hits the statement. Figures as of October 2026.
How will Axis apply my payment across the outstanding balance from 28 August 2026?
From 28 August 2026 Axis clears a credit card payment in this order — fees and charges including taxes, then EMIs, then interest charges, then purchase transactions, and cash advances last. That swaps the final two: the order it replaced cleared cash advances fourth and purchases last. It only bites if you pay less than the full statement balance, because a part-payment now settles purchases before it reaches a cash advance — and Axis charges interest on a cash advance from the day of withdrawal, with no interest-free period, so the costliest balance is the one left outstanding longest. Paying the statement balance in full makes the order irrelevant.

  1. ▼ FeeObserved 29 Jul 2026 · Effective 28 Aug 2026

Dynamic currency conversion markup more than doubles to 3.5%

    1.5% + GST→3.5% + GST

Axis Bank raised the dynamic currency conversion mark-up from 1.5% to 3.5% plus GST. DCC applies when an overseas merchant offers to bill you in rupees instead of the local currency, and it stacks on top of the usual foreign-currency mark-up. Declining the rupee option at the terminal and paying in the local currency avoids the charge entirely.

  2. ▼ FeeObserved 29 Jul 2026 · Effective 28 Aug 2026

New top late-payment slab of Rs 1,300 above Rs 50,000

Rs 1,200 on any total payment due above Rs 10,000→Rs 1,200 from Rs 10,001 to Rs 50,000; Rs 1,300 above Rs 50,000

Axis Bank added a fifth late-payment slab. Everything up to Rs 50,000 is unchanged, but a total payment due of more than Rs 50,000 now attracts Rs 1,300 instead of Rs 1,200. The same notice fixes the order in which a payment is applied to the outstanding: fees and charges including taxes first, then EMIs, interest, purchases and cash advances.

  3. ▼ RewardObserved 29 Jul 2026 · Effective 28 Aug 2026

Tolls and road fees stop earning rewards; gift cards split into their own category

Bridge fees, road fees and tolls earned at the normal rate→No rewards or cashback on bridge fees, road fees and tolls

Axis Bank added bridge fees, road fees and tolls to the spends that earn nothing. Separately, gift card purchases move out of the Wallet spend category into a new Gift Card category; they already earned no rewards, and they continue to be excluded from spend-based fee waivers and milestone thresholds.

2024

  1. ▼ FeeEffective 20 Dec 2024

Bank-wide charges revision raises ancillary fees

Lower/absent ancillary fees; DCC markup 1%; branch cash payment ₹100→Finance charge standardised to 3.75%/month; DCC markup 1.5%; branch cash payment ₹175; rent surcharge 1% uncapped; new auto-debit-reversal and minimum-due penalty fees

A portfolio-wide Axis Bank repricing effective 20 December 2024 applied to this card's general charges: the finance charge was standardised to 3.75%/month, the dynamic-currency-conversion markup rose from 1% to 1.5%, branch cash-payment and rent-surcharge fees increased, and new auto-debit-reversal and unpaid-minimum-due penalty fees were introduced. The EDGE-points-specific redemption/conversion fees in the same circular do not apply here, since the card earns SpiceClub points rather than EDGE points.
