BOBCARD Etihad Guest Premium Credit Card

The BOBCARD Etihad Guest Premium doubles every earn rate of its junior sibling and, far more interestingly, charges 0% forex markup. It pays 6 Etihad Guest Miles per ₹100 on Etihad Airways and 2 Miles per ₹100 on all other domestic and cross-border spend — roughly 3% and 1% at a realistic ~50 paise a mile. Miles are not a flexible currency: they sweep automatically into your Etihad Guest account within 3 days of each statement and redeem only through Etihad Guest, so there is no statement credit or voucher route. The status story is the best part of the proposition — complimentary Etihad Guest Silver on your first card transaction, upgrading to Gold once you make a transaction on Etihad.com within six months of issuance. A bonus ladder adds 500 Miles a month on four transactions totalling ₹50,000, 4,000 Miles a quarter on ₹3 lakh, 24,000 Miles a year on ₹12 lakh, and 1,000 Miles for flying Etihad twice in a year. Lounge access is 12 domestic (3 per quarter) and 8 international (2 per quarter) visits. The ₹5,000 fee waives at ₹5 lakh of annual spend and the finance charge is 3.75%/month.

Super Premium tier
Two different cards live inside this one. As a zero-forex card it is genuinely competitive — 0% markup at ₹5,000 with 12 domestic and 8 international lounge visits and a real airline status grant is a combination the free zero-forex cards cannot match. As a miles earner it is ordinary: 2 Miles per ₹100 is about 1%, and the miles only work if you fly Etihad. Buy it for the forex and the status, and treat the miles as a bonus rather than the business case.

In-depth review

BOBCARD Etihad Guest Premium Credit Card

A genuine 0% forex markup at ₹5,000, plus Etihad Guest Silver on your first swipe and a route to Gold — that combination is rare in India. The miles themselves are ordinary (2 per ₹100, about 1%) and locked inside Etihad Guest. Buy it for the forex and the status; treat the miles as a bonus, not the business case.

Who is this for?

For the frequent international traveller who wants a zero-forex card that also builds airline status — especially anyone routing through Abu Dhabi on Etihad. The 0% markup makes it a credible everyday overseas card on its own merits; the Gold tier path is the reason to prefer it over a plain zero-forex card.

Pros & cons

✓ Pros

  • 0% forex markup — rare at a ₹5,000 fee and the single strongest reason to hold this card
  • Etihad Guest Silver on your first transaction, with a clear route to Gold via one Etihad.com booking
  • 6 Miles per ₹100 on Etihad Airways, credited straight into your Etihad Guest account
  • 12 domestic and 8 international lounge visits a year
  • A metal card — your name engraved on solid metal, a headline feature at this fee level
  • 15,000 welcome Miles (~₹7,500) comfortably cover the first-year fee

✕ Cons

  • 2 Miles per ₹100 (~1%) on everyday spend is ordinary at a ₹5,000 fee — the forex and status carry this card, not the earn rate
  • Miles are locked to Etihad Guest — no statement credit, no vouchers, no transfer out, and they expire on Etihad's tier-based schedule
  • The ₹12 lakh annual milestone is a high bar; most holders will never reach the 24,000-Mile bonus
  • A long exclusion list — rent, insurance, telecom, education, government, wallet loads and waiver-eligible fuel earn nothing at all
  • Gold tier needs an Etihad.com transaction within 6 months of issuance — miss the window and you stay Silver

The concern

The miles are locked to Etihad Guest with no cash or voucher fallback and Etihad's tier-based expiry, and the 2 Miles per ₹100 base is beaten on everyday spend by transferable-currency cards at the same fee — so the case rests on the 0% forex and the status, not the earn rate.

Frequently asked questions

What does the BOBCARD Etihad Guest Premium earn?
6 Etihad Guest Miles per ₹100 on Etihad Airways and 2 Miles per ₹100 on all other domestic and cross-border spends. At a realistic ~50 paise a mile that is about 3% on Etihad and 1% elsewhere. In effective-return terms this card's best everyday earn is 1% on everyday spends — percentages here are the real return after converting points at their card-specific value, not the headline points-per-₹100. It reaches 3% at Etihad Airways (etihad.com), and only there. Figures as of October 2026.
Is the forex markup really zero?
Yes — 0% forex markup on all foreign currency transactions, which is rare at this fee level and one of the two real reasons to hold the card. You pay the card network exchange rate with nothing added on top. This card charges no foreign-currency markup — a ₹1,00,000 overseas bill converts at the network exchange rate with ₹0 in markup fees, where a typical Indian card adds 2–3.5% plus GST. Figures as of October 2026.
How do the Silver and Gold tier grants work?
You get complimentary Etihad Guest Silver tier on your first card transaction, and it upgrades to Gold tier once you complete a transaction on Etihad.com within 6 months of card issuance. Gold brings bonus miles, priority check-in and extra baggage on Etihad.
Can I redeem the Miles for cashback or vouchers?
No. Miles are transferred automatically from your card account to your Etihad Guest account within 3 days of each statement date and can only be redeemed through the Etihad Guest programme — Etihad flights, cabin upgrades, extra baggage and partner services. There is no cash or voucher option.
What is the annual fee waiver and welcome benefit?
The ₹5,000 + GST annual fee is waived on ₹5,00,000 of spend in a card anniversary year. The welcome benefit is 15,000 Miles (10,000 plus 5,000 more) on ₹50,000 of spend in the first 65 days plus the joining fee — worth roughly ₹7,500, which covers the first-year fee. The welcome benefit is currently valued at about ₹7,500 against a joining fee of ₹5,900 all-in (incl. GST) — a first-year net of roughly ₹1,600 in your favour before any spend-based rewards. Figures as of October 2026.

As a miles earner it is ordinary: 2 Miles per ₹100 is about 1%, and the miles only work if you fly Etihad. Buy it for the forex and the status, and treat the miles as a bonus rather than the business case.

    BOBCARD Etihad Guest Premium launched

BOBCARD launched the Etihad Guest Premium in January 2026 as the higher tier of its first airline co-brand — two cards created with Etihad Guest after Etihad's earlier SBI Card co-brand was wound down (the SBI Etihad cards closed on 31 March 2026). The super-premium card carries a genuine 0% forex markup, earns 6 Etihad Guest Miles per ₹100 on Etihad Airways and 2 Miles per ₹100 on all other domestic and cross-border spend, grants complimentary Etihad Guest Silver status on the first card transaction with a route to Gold via one Etihad.com booking, and adds 12 domestic (3/quarter) and 8 international (2/quarter) lounge visits a year for a ₹5,000 + GST fee waivable at ₹5 lakh of annual spend. Early applicants onboarded between 5 January and 28 February 2026 received double welcome Miles.
