In-depth review
Jupiter Edge+ CSB Bank RuPay Credit Card
Answers a real question — why should UPI payments earn nothing? — with a workable RuPay card that rewards QR-code payments made through the Jupiter app. App-native and genuinely useful for the UPI-first spender, and free to take on Jupiter's current offer (the regular ₹999 joining fee can return, so it's not formally lifetime-free). But successive 2026 devaluations trimmed both the earn rate (travel 10%→7%→~5% on Jupiter Flights only) and the rewards currency (Jewel value ~30% lower for statement credit), and since October 2026 the 10% shopping rate needs more than ₹15,000 of spend in the statement cycle. Redeem via vouchers, not statement credit.

Free to take today; note the 2026 caps, that the 10% shopping rate now needs more than ₹15,000 of spend in the statement cycle, and that the ₹999 joining fee can return.

Should you get it?
- Best for: Jupiter savings account holder wanting one-app banking, UPI-native millennial wanting credit rewards on UPI payments, First credit card for digitally-native users, Backup card for UPI transactions linked to credit line
- Entry tier — great for first-time and lower-spend users.
- Strongest value if you spend heavily on everyday spends (1% back; 5% only at Jupiter Flights).
Pros & cons
✓ Pros
- Works on UPI — pay any QR code through the Jupiter app and earn Jewels on it
- Instant app-based approval via Jupiter — no branch visit or courier
- No annual fee, and no joining fee on the current limited-period offer (regular ₹999)
- Integrated with Jupiter savings account for unified financial management
✕ Cons
- 10% online caps are tight and tiered — ₹200 a transaction and ₹600 per merchant, so reaching the ₹2,000 cycle ceiling needs four or more brands
- The 10% shopping rate needs more than ₹15,000 of spend in the statement cycle; below that the named brands earn 1%
- Jewels are paid only on UPI payments made through the Jupiter app, so linking the card to PhonePe, Google Pay or Paytm earns nothing
- Jewel redemption value was cut in June 2026
- Cashing Jewels out to a statement credit pays ₹0.14 each against ₹0.20 in-app — a 30% haircut for wanting cash
Eligibility & documents
Documents required
- 📄PAN or Aadhaar card (identity and address)
- 📄Income proof — digital salary slips or bank statements
- 📄A digital selfie for in-app verification
How to redeem rewards
Ways to convert what you earn into real value.
- 🎁Redeem Jewels in the Jupiter app for vouchers, digital gold and flights at ₹0.20
- 🎁Statement credit and bill payment at ₹0.14 per Jewel
What your Jupiter Jewels are worth
Realistic value per point by redemption route — the difference is what most people leave on the table.
₹0.14 a Jewel since the June 2026 revaluation — a 30% haircut against the in-app rate for wanting cash
₹0.20 a Jewel, the best route and the basis every reward row on jupiter-edge is valued at; redeemable only inside the Jupiter app
The 2026 cuts (travel 10%→7%→~5% and Jupiter Flights only, statement-credit Jewel value down ~30%, tighter shopping caps — ₹600 per merchant is the one that bites), the ₹15,000 cycle-spend condition on the 10% shopping rate since October 2026, and CSB's small ecosystem mean thin offers and a leaner proposition than early reviews suggested.

The bottom line
Jupiter Edge answers a real question — why should UPI payments earn nothing? — with a workable card. UPI-native users who pay through the Jupiter app get rewards on QR payments they were making anyway. But successive 2026 devaluations (travel 10%→7%→~5% on Jupiter Flights only, ~30% lower Jewel value for statement credit, tighter shopping caps, and since October 2026 a ₹15,000 cycle-spend condition on the 10% shopping rate) mean it is convenience plus a little, not a rewards powerhouse — and best redeemed via vouchers.

Fi-Federal Credit Card
Discontinued. The Federal–Fi co-branded credit card programme — MagniFi, AmpliFi and SimpliFi — was wound down effective 20 March 2026: reward accruals stopped, and Fi and Federal Bank asked holders to clear dues and close their cards. The slick app integration was always the real draw and the economics always ordinary; in the end the fintech-card volatility this review long flagged is exactly what shut it. If you still hold one, move your spending to a stable issuer.
OneCard Credit Card
A lifetime-free metal card with a superb app, an auto-adapting 5X engine and a low 1% forex markup — the default answer when anyone wants a free metal card. The rewards underneath are more modest than the polish suggests (and a 2025 trim made them slightly more so). Buy it for the metal, the app and the forex; keep a major-bank card around for disputes.
Kiwi RuPay Credit Card
Kiwi is a lifetime-free RuPay card built to earn cashback when you scan a UPI QR code in the Kiwi app — one of the few cards that pays on the small everyday payments most cards ignore. The catch every reader needs upfront: the free card earns roughly 1–1.5%, and the advertised 'up to 5%' is not free. It needs the paid Kiwi Neon tier (₹999 plus GST a year), which Kiwi offers only to select YES and AU cardholders, plus ₹1.5 lakh of spend in the membership year. Judge it as a ~1% free UPI card unless you spend heavily.
slice UPI Credit Card
slice is a lifetime-free, UPI-first RuPay credit card — and after slice's merger with North East Small Finance Bank it is now a proper unsecured credit card issued by a licensed small finance bank, reporting cleanly to CIBIL. That makes it one of the better first cards for building a score. It earns cashback ('Monies') on everyday QR scans, carries zero forex on international online spends, and includes a built-in pay-in-3. The realistic earn is ~1%; the advertised 'up to 3%' needs balances most people won't hold.

Shopping 10% needs more than ₹15,000 of spend in the statement cycle
50 Jewels per ₹100 on every eligible purchase→5 Jewels per ₹100 instantly; 45 more only if cycle spend tops ₹15,000
From 5 October 2026 the 10% shopping rate (50 Jewels per ₹100) at Amazon, Flipkart and Jupiter's other named brands is paid in two parts. 5 Jewels per ₹100 are credited on every purchase; the other 45 are added at the end of the statement cycle only if total qualifying spend in that cycle is more than ₹15,000, and are cancelled if it is not. In a lighter cycle the named brands therefore earn 1%, the same as everyday spend. The caps of 1,000 Jewels a transaction, 3,000 a merchant and 10,000 a cycle, the 25 Jewels per ₹100 on Jupiter Flights and everyday earning are unchanged. The two issuer-side documents disagree on the start date: CSB Bank's card terms date the new table from 5 October 2026 ("Applicable 05th October, 2026 onwards"), while Jupiter's own terms page gives 10 October ("Applicable till 09th October, 2026" for the old table). This record follows CSB, the issuer; a statement from the first days of October may still show the old rate.

Everyday UPI / base earning made uncapped
Capped ~₹1,000-worth of Jewels/month→Uncapped — 5 Jewels/₹100 on unlimited UPI & other spend
Alongside the June 2026 cuts, the monthly cap on base earning was removed: the 1% / 5 Jewels-per-₹100 on UPI and all other spends is now uncapped, so heavy UPI users no longer hit a ceiling on the card's core purpose. The official Edge+ page confirms the end state — "5% unlimited Jewels" on all other spends. The exact effective date is inferred to coincide with the 1 June 2026 revision.

Jewel value split — statement credit / bill payment cut ~30%
₹0.20 per Jewel (all redemptions)→₹0.14 for statement credit / bill payment; ₹0.20 elsewhere
On 1 June 2026 the Jewel redemption value was split. Vouchers, digital gold, Jupiter Store and Jupiter Flights keep the full ₹0.20 per Jewel, but statement credit and bill payment (the cash-like routes) were cut to ₹0.14 — 100 Jewels now worth ₹14 instead of ₹20, a ~30% devaluation. 10,000 Jewels that returned ₹2,000 as statement credit now return ₹1,400. The lesson: redeem via vouchers or Jupiter travel, not statement credit.

Travel accelerator gutted — OTAs to base, Jupiter Flights cut and capped
35 Jewels/₹100 (~7%) incl. MMT/Yatra/EMT/Cleartrip, uncapped→OTAs at base 5 Jewels/₹100; Jupiter Flights 25 Jewels/₹100, cap 5,000/cycle
From 1 June 2026 the third-party travel aggregators (MakeMyTrip, Yatra, EaseMyTrip, Cleartrip) lost their accelerated rate and now earn only the base 5 Jewels/₹100. Accelerated travel earning survives only on in-app Jupiter Flights, and even there the rate was cut from 35 to 25 Jewels/₹100 (~5% at ₹0.20 redemption) and newly capped at 5,000 Jewels per billing cycle. Booking flights outside the Jupiter app now earns the same as everyday spend.

Shopping 10% re-capped in three tiers and its category narrowed
₹1,500/month, ₹500/merchant; broad category→₹2,000/cycle, ₹600/merchant, ₹200/txn; narrower Shopping definition
Effective 21 March 2026 Jupiter reworked the 10% shopping rate at its named brands: a new cap of 1,000 Jewels a transaction (₹200 at ₹0.20 a Jewel) was introduced, and the caps rose to 3,000 Jewels a merchant (₹600, from ₹500) and 10,000 Jewels a statement cycle (₹2,000, from ₹1,500). CSB's terms define Shopping to exclude gift-card merchants (MCC 5947), utility bills, subscriptions and insurance premiums. Subscriptions earn the everyday 5 Jewels per ₹100, while utility bills and insurance premiums earn no Jewels at all; groceries bought at the named brands still earn the full rate. A devaluation for anyone who used the 10% for those spends.
