IndiGo Kotak Credit Card

The IndiGo Kotak Credit Card is the base tier of Kotak's IndiGo co-brand, sitting below the ₹3,000 IndiGo XL. It earns up to 19 IndiGo BluChips per ₹100 on IndiGo flight bookings, an unlimited 2 per ₹100 on dining and entertainment, and 1 per ₹100 on everything else — with 1 BluChip worth roughly 42 paise against an IndiGo fare — IndiGo publishes no fixed rate. Read the headline carefully, though. As on the XL, most of that 19 is not the card: only a few BluChips per ₹100 come from the card itself, while the rest accrue to any BluChip member booking through IndiGo's own channels, plus a top-tier status bonus. The ₹1,500 fee buys a 2,500-BluChip welcome voucher and a matching 2,500 on each renewal, and milestone vouchers of 2,500 BluChips each at ₹1.25 lakh, ₹2.5 lakh and ₹6 lakh of annual spend — up to 7,500 a year. What it does not buy is lounge access: Kotak publishes none on this card, which is the clearest line between it and the XL. There is also no spend-based fee waiver, so the vouchers are the only thing that offsets the fee.

Mid tier
A reasonable entry into the IndiGo co-brand, provided you understand two things. The up-to-19 headline is mostly IndiGo programme and tier earning rather than card earning, and there is no lounge access at all — that is what the XL's extra ₹1,500 buys. With no spend waiver either, the ₹1,500 comes back only through the welcome, renewal and milestone vouchers, which it does comfortably for someone flying IndiGo with any regularity. Off IndiGo the card is thin at 1–2 BluChips per ₹100.

In-depth review

IndiGo Kotak Credit Card

The base tier of the Kotak x IndiGo co-brand at ₹1,500 — a 2,500-BluChip welcome voucher, a matching 2,500 on every renewal, and milestone vouchers worth up to 7,500 BluChips a year. Read the 'up to 19 BluChips per ₹100' headline carefully: only 3 of those come from the card. And unlike the ₹3,000 IndiGo XL, this one has no lounge access at all.

OTT & Entertainment: 2 BluChips per ₹100 on entertainment — Kotak pays the accelerated rate on "Dining & Entertainment" as one category, so entertainment earns 2, not the 1 base

  • Dining and entertainment earn double the base rate

Ways to convert what you earn into real value.

  • 🎁Welcome, renewal and milestone BluChip vouchers credited to the IndiGo BluChip account

The concern

BluChips are airline scrip, redeemable only against IndiGo fares and devaluable at IndiGo's discretion. The up-to-19 rate needs top-tier BluChip status to reach, there is no lounge access, and the ₹1,500 fee has no spend waiver.

Frequently asked questions

What is the fee on the IndiGo Kotak Credit Card, and can it be waived?
₹1,500 joining and ₹1,500 annual, both plus GST. Kotak's Key Fact Statement records "NA" against both waiver conditions, so there is no spend level that removes either. The 2,500-BluChip welcome and renewal vouchers are what offset the cost. The renewal fee is ₹1,500 plus 18% GST — ₹1,770 all-in, which is the figure that actually hits the statement. Figures as of September 2026.
Does the base IndiGo Kotak card include lounge access?
No. Kotak publishes no lounge access on this card. Lounge access is the main thing the ₹3,000 IndiGo XL adds, at 8 domestic visits a year.
How much does the IndiGo Kotak Credit Card earn?
Up to 19 BluChips per ₹100 on IndiGo flight bookings, 2 per ₹100 on dining and entertainment, and 1 per ₹100 on everything else. The 19 is a ceiling rather than a rate you should expect — most of it is IndiGo programme and top-tier status earning that any BluChip member gets on any card. In effective-return terms this card's best everyday earn is 0.84% on dining, against 0.42% on other spends — percentages here are the real return after converting points at their card-specific value, not the headline points-per-₹100. It reaches 1.26% at IndiGo (app & website), and only there. Figures as of September 2026.
How is this different from the IndiGo XL Kotak Credit Card?
The base card is ₹1,500 with no lounge access and lower earn rates. The XL is ₹3,000 and adds 8 domestic lounge visits a year, a higher IndiGo rate, 3 BluChips per ₹100 on dining and entertainment instead of 2, larger welcome and renewal vouchers, and milestone vouchers worth up to 16,000 BluChips against this card's 7,500.
How has the IndiGo Kotak Credit Card changed over time?
Our dated Value Timeline for the IndiGo Kotak Credit Card (on this page) records 2 changes since 2025: 0 devaluations, 0 improvements, and the rest neutral changes such as launches or restructures. The most recent entry: Legacy 6E Rewards balances converted to BluChips with an 18% bonus (3 October 2025). Legacy 6E Rewards balances converted to BluChips with an 18% bonus

6E Rewards (legacy IndiGo co-brand points)IndiGo BluChips (1 BluChip approx Rs 1 against IndiGo fares)

Kotak states that "by 3rd October '25, all your 6E Rewards balance was converted to IndiGo BluChips with an 18% bonus". This card is the destination of that migration for the retired 6E Rewards and 6E Rewards XL holders: per Kotak's own migration FAQ, "if you had a 6E Rewards XL card (annual fee - Rs.1500), you would have received the IndiGo Kotak CC at a joining/annual fee of Rs.1500". The Rs 3,000 IndiGo Kotak XL was a separate opt-in upgrade rather than the default destination, which matters because this base card carries no lounge access where the XL gives 8 domestic visits a year. Note also that the BluChip programme itself launched in 2024, not 2025 — October 2025 is when the Kotak co-brand and the legacy balances moved onto it.

Kotak and IndiGo relaunch the co-brand on BluChips — base card at Rs 1,500

Rs 1,500 joining and annual; up to 19 IndiGo BluChips per Rs 100 on IndiGo bookings

Kotak and IndiGo relaunched their co-brand as a two-card range built on IndiGo's BluChip currency, announced jointly on 10 July 2025. This is the base card of the two. Kotak's Key Fact Statement (KFSIK12032026) prices it at Rs 1,500 joining and Rs 1,500 annual with "NA" against both waiver conditions, so there is no spend level that removes either. It earns up to 19 IndiGo BluChips per Rs 100 on IndiGo flight bookings, an unlimited 2 per Rs 100 on dining and entertainment and 1 per Rs 100 on everything else, with a 2,500-BluChip welcome voucher, a matching 2,500 on each renewal, and milestone vouchers of 2,500 BluChips each at Rs 1.25 lakh, Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 6 lakh of annual spend. It carries no lounge access — that is what the Rs 3,000 IndiGo Kotak XL adds.
