IndiGo Ka-ching Kotak 6E Rewards XL Credit Card

If you fly IndiGo, the IndiGo Ka-ching Kotak 6E Rewards XL is the single best card for it — accelerated earning on IndiGo bookings, plus dining, movies and groceries and a base rate on all other retail, 8 lounge visits a year (2/quarter) and a welcome IndiGo flight ticket. Kotak has since withdrawn this card's product pages, so the exact category rates it last published can no longer be verified against an issuer source and are not restated here. For the fly-IndiGo-weekly traveller it is effectively a fare discount. The XL variant costs ₹2,500 joining / ₹1,500 a year. The one thing to understand: IndiGo moved the reward currency from 6E Rewards to BluChips in October 2025.

Mid tier
This card is retired and there is nothing to apply for. While it ran, it earned fast enough on IndiGo bookings to feel like a fare discount for a weekly IndiGo flyer, and the 8 lounge visits helped justify the renewal. Holders were migrated to the IndiGo Kotak Credit Card at their existing fee. If you are choosing an IndiGo co-brand today, compare what the CARD pays rather than the advertised headline — every issuer's "up to" number bundles the same 16 BluChips per ₹100 that IndiGo itself pays for booking through its channels (12) and for Blu 1 tier status (4), which any BluChip member earns with any card. Strip those out and the premium tiers run SBI ELITE and Axis Premium at 7 per ₹100, IDFC FIRST at 6 and Kotak's XL at 5 — the same order as the headlines, but a far wider spread than 23-vs-21 suggests.

If you hold this card: Kotak converted every 6E Rewards balance into IndiGo BluChips by 3 October 2025, with a one-time 18% bonus. Per Kotak’s own migration FAQ, 6E Rewards XL holders were moved to the IndiGo Kotak Credit Card at their existing ₹1,500 fee — not to the ₹3,000 IndiGo Kotak XL, which is a separate opt-in upgrade. Worth checking what you hold: the ₹1,500 card carries no lounge access.

Kotak retired the “Ka-ching / 6E Rewards XL” branding when IndiGo moved its loyalty currency from 6E Rewards to IndiGo BluChips. Kotak’s Key Fact Statements now list only two IndiGo cards — the IndiGo Kotak Credit Card (₹1,500) and the IndiGo Kotak XL (₹3,000) — so this listing duplicated the range and has been consolidated into the base card holders were actually migrated onto.

The concern

BluChips (formerly 6E Rewards) are airline scrip that IndiGo can devalue at its discretion, and the value is concentrated in IndiGo spend — light IndiGo flyers will not justify the ₹1,500 renewal.

Frequently asked questions

Does 6% apply only to IndiGo.com bookings?
The 6E XL rate is for direct IndiGo bookings. Booking through OTAs (MakeMyTrip, Goibibo) may earn a lower rate. Verify with Kotak.
Do BluChips expire?
BluChips (which replaced 6E Rewards in October 2025) are IndiGo's own currency and expire per IndiGo's programme rules — the 6E Rewards window was 12 months from the last activity. Verify the current BluChips rule at IndiGo.com.
Can BluChips be redeemed on any IndiGo flight?
Yes — redeem on any available IndiGo flight with no blackout dates. Redemption value may vary by route.
Is there a welcome bonus?
Verify with Kotak at time of application. Welcome IndiGo vouchers are typically offered on joining.
What is the annual fee?
₹1,500/year (₹2,500 joining). Verify current fee waiver conditions with Kotak Bank. The renewal fee is ₹1,500 plus 18% GST — ₹1,770 all-in, which is the figure that actually hits the statement. Figures as of October 2026.
