In-depth review
AU NOMO Credit Card
A secured card issued against a fixed deposit — so no income or credit history is needed — that still earns like an unsecured rewards card: 2 points per ₹100 on retail, a 500-point welcome and quarterly milestones. Its real standout is a rare 0.99% foreign-currency markup that even many premium cards can't match. At ₹199 (not lifetime-free), it's an unusually capable credit-builder — and because it is issued on Visa, that markup works wherever Visa is accepted abroad.

Forex markup

- Low forex markup: 1.0%
For thin-file or credit-building applicants who want a secured card that still earns points. The low 0.99% forex markup is a genuine edge, and on Visa it works wherever Visa is accepted abroad — judge it as a cheap card to spend overseas with, not as a travel-rewards card.

Pros & cons
✓ Pros
- Standout 0.99% forex markup — rare on any card, and usable wherever Visa is accepted
- Earns 2 points per ₹100 on retail, unusual for a secured card
- No income/credit-history requirement
✕ Cons
- Needs a fixed deposit of at least ₹20,000, locked for a fixed 24-month tenure
- Only solely-owned, cumulative, auto-renewing FDs qualify — not joint, tax-saving or non-callable ones
- Not lifetime-free — a ₹199 fee applies
- Base categories are limited; value leans on forex and the points milestone
- A Visa card, not RuPay — so it cannot be linked to UPI for scan-and-pay payments

The real entry cost is not the ₹199 fee but the deposit — at least ₹20,000, locked for a fixed 24-month tenure with a lien on the full amount. IDFC FIRST WOW asks for the same ₹20,000 and is lifetime-free, so NOMO earns its place on the 0.99% forex markup rather than on being easy to start.

The bottom line
A surprisingly capable secured card. Most FD-backed cards are bare credit-builders; NOMO adds a 2-points-per-₹100 earn and a genuinely low 0.99% forex markup that even many premium unsecured cards cannot match. It is issued on Visa, so that low markup works wherever Visa is accepted abroad — buy it as a credit-builder that is also cheap to spend overseas with, not as a travel-rewards card.

AU InstaPay Credit Card
A lifetime-free, fully virtual RuPay card that AU issues only to its own existing credit cardholders — it shares your primary AU card's limit and exists to give that relationship a UPI-linked face. It pays 1% cashback on UPI spends at everyday categories, capped at ₹100 a statement cycle, plus a fuel surcharge waiver. Judge it as a companion card, not a first card and not a rewards card: the ₹100 cap keeps the earning nominal by design.
BOBCARD Prime Credit Card
BOBCARD Prime is a secured card issued against a fixed deposit of ₹30,000 or more, with guaranteed issuance and no income proof required. It has zero joining and zero annual fees, links to UPI on a RuPay rail, and accepts applicants from 18 to 85. The rewards are token — 2 RP per ₹100 at ₹0.20 a point is about 0.4%, and fuel earns nothing — so judge it on access and cost, not returns.
AU Traverse Credit Card
An NRI-only premium travel card built around a low 0.99% forex markup and global lounge access. For a Non-Resident Indian who spends across borders, the forex saving and international lounges are the real draw, and a ₹5,000 MakeMyTrip welcome voucher offsets part of the ₹4,999 fee. The catch is the first line of the pitch: resident Indians simply cannot hold it, and the base reward rate is modest.

Fuel fair-usage terms tightened — trigger halved, levy on the whole aggregate
1% fair-usage charge once monthly fuel spends exceeded 50% of the credit limit or ₹50,000→1% on the entire aggregate once a single fuel transaction exceeds ₹10,000 or monthly fuel spends exceed ₹25,000
From 1 July 2026 AU tightened its fuel fair-usage charge: the trigger dropped from ₹50,000 of aggregate fuel spend in a calendar month to ₹25,000 (or a single fuel transaction above ₹10,000), and the 1% charge is now levied on the entire aggregate fuel spend for the month rather than the portion above the threshold. Fair-usage charges do not apply to international transactions. The complimentary fuel-surcharge waiver bands are unchanged.

New 1% fair-usage charge on transportation spends
No transportation fair-usage charge→1% on the entire aggregate once monthly transportation spends exceed 50% of the credit limit or ₹25,000, whichever is lower
From 14 June 2026 AU levies a 1% fair-usage charge when aggregate transportation spends (MCC 4111, 4112 and 4784 — local commuter transport, passenger rail and tolls) in a calendar month exceed 50% of the credit limit or ₹25,000, whichever is lower. The charge applies to the entire aggregate transportation spend for the month, not just the excess. IRCTC and select marquee travel partners are excluded, international transactions are out of scope, and AU exempts the ixigo AU co-brand variants entirely. This charge is separate from (and adds to) the April 2026 removal of reward-point earning on transportation MCCs.

- ▼ RewardEffective 10 Apr 2026
Transportation spends stop earning rewards
Transportation spends earned the standard 2 RP/₹100 retail rate→No rewards on transportation MCCs
From 10 April 2026 AU stopped awarding reward points on 11 transportation merchant categories (rail, transit, tolls and similar — MCC 4011/4111/4112/4121/4131/4411/4582/4784/4789/5561/7523) across its credit cards, so NOMO's 2 RP/₹100 retail rate no longer applies to these spends. The same notice raised the airport-lounge quarterly spend gate from ₹20,000 to ₹50,000, and this does affect NOMO: AU's NOMO page states that with effect from 10 April 2026 the card carries 2 complimentary domestic lounge visits per quarter on ₹50,000 of quarterly spend. (Corrected 2026-08-04 — the perk was missing from our catalog, which led the original entry to conclude wrongly that the lounge half of the notice did not apply.) (Dating note, 2026-08-06: AU's own surfaces carry both 1 April and 10 April 2026 as the effective date of the transportation change, and the bank-wide revision PDF originally cited for it now serves a lounge-only notice at the same URL; both dates are disclosed rather than silently picking one.)

- ▼ FeeEffective 15 Aug 2024
Fair-usage charge added on fuel and utility spends
No cap-linked fee on fuel or utility spends→1% fee beyond fuel/utility fair-usage thresholds
From 15 August 2024 AU added a 1% fee on fuel spends exceeding 50% of the credit limit or ₹50,000/month (whichever is lower), and on utility spends exceeding ₹50,000/month (plus 18% GST); international transactions were exempt. NOMO earns 1 reward point per ₹100 on utility/insurance spends and carries a 1% fuel-surcharge waiver, so both of its non-retail earn categories now sit under this ceiling.

AU NOMO launches as a fixed-deposit-secured credit card
On 23 April 2024 AU Small Finance Bank launched AU NOMO ("No Missing Out") alongside the AU SPONT cashback card. NOMO was pitched as AU's first FD-secured credit card, needing no income proof or credit history, while still earning 2 reward points per ₹100 on retail spends and carrying a standout 0.99% forex markup for a secured product.
