BOBCARD Select Credit Card

BOBCARD Select sits between the ₹500 Easy and the ₹1,000 Premier, and the honest way to read it is by what it swaps rather than what it earns. Its base rate — 1 reward point per ₹100 — is identical to Easy's; what ₹250 more buys is a different pair of 5X categories: dining (MCC 5812) and online, in place of Easy's departmental stores and movies. Premier, for ₹250 more again, gives 2 RP/₹100 base plus lounge access, which Select does not have at all. The 5X earn is 5 RP per ₹100 (~1% once you price a BOBCARD point at its official ₹0.20) and is capped at 1,000 points per statement cycle SHARED across both categories — so the accelerator stops after about ₹20,000 of combined dining and online spend each month, worth at most ₹2,400 a year against a ₹750 fee. UPI and utility spends are excluded from the 5X rate.

Select is a competent, unexciting card whose case rests entirely on whether dining and online are genuinely your two biggest categories — because that pairing is the only thing you are buying over the cheaper Easy. At ₹0.20 a point the 5X works out near 1%, and the shared 1,000-point cycle cap keeps the total modest. Judge it on the category fit and the ₹70,000 waiver bar, not on the headline 5X.

In-depth review

BOBCARD Select Credit Card

BOBCARD Select is the BOBCARD Easy's engine with dining and online swapped in as the 5X categories, for ₹250 more a year — 5 reward points per ₹100 (~1% at Bank of Baroda's official ₹0.20/point) on those two, capped at 1,000 points per statement cycle SHARED across both, and 1 RP per ₹100 elsewhere, which is the same base rate the cheaper Easy already gives. No lounge access, and it cannot be linked to UPI. Judge it on whether dining and online are genuinely your two biggest categories — that pairing is the only thing the extra ₹250 buys.

Who is this for?

An existing Bank of Baroda customer whose dining and online spend lands near ₹20,000 a month — that is exactly where the 1,000-point cap bites, and beyond it you are earning the same 0.2% as the cheaper Easy. If your spend is well under that, Easy costs ₹250 less for the same base rate; if you want lounge access, only Premier has it.

The concern

The 1,000-point cycle cap is shared across dining and online, so the 5X quietly stops at roughly ₹20,000 of combined monthly spend — and the base rate you drop to is the same 1 RP/₹100 the ₹250-cheaper Easy already gives you.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use it on UPI?
No. Bank of Baroda states that only RuPay BOBCARDs can be linked on UPI, and Select is not issued on RuPay — so it cannot be added to PhonePe, Google Pay or Paytm for UPI payments. If UPI linking is what you want from a BOBCARD, look at the RuPay cards in the range instead.
How many reward points does it earn?
5 reward points per ₹100 on dining (MCC 5812) and online spends, and 1 reward point per ₹100 on everything else. Bank of Baroda redeems a point for cashback at ₹0.20, so the 5X is about 1% and the base is about 0.2%. In effective-return terms this card's best everyday earn is 1% on dining (rewards capped at ₹200 a month in that category), against 0.2% on other spends — percentages here are the real return after converting points at their card-specific value, not the headline points-per-₹100. Figures as of October 2026.
Is the 5X rate capped?
The 5X earn is capped at 1,000 reward points per statement cycle, and that cap is SHARED between dining and online — so it is exhausted at roughly ₹20,000 of combined spend in a cycle. After that both categories drop to the 1 RP/₹100 base rate.
What is the annual fee waiver?
₹70,000 of annual spend waives the ₹750 annual fee; ₹7,500 within 60 days reverses the joining fee. The renewal fee is ₹750 plus 18% GST — ₹885 all-in, which is the figure that actually hits the statement. Spending ₹70,000 in the card year waives the renewal fee — about ₹5,833 a month. Figures as of October 2026.
How is it different from the cheaper BOBCARD Easy?
Select's base rate is the same 1 RP/₹100 as Easy. The ₹250 difference buys a different pair of 5X categories — dining and online, instead of Easy's departmental stores and movies. If those are not your two biggest categories, Easy does the same job for less.

The bottom line

Select is a competent, unexciting card whose case rests entirely on whether dining and online are genuinely your two biggest categories — because that pairing is the only thing you are buying over the cheaper Easy. At ₹0.20 a point the 5X works out near 1%, and the shared 1,000-point cycle cap keeps the total modest. Judge it on the category fit and the ₹70,000 waiver bar, not on the headline 5X.

How this page was built

Counted from this card’s own record: 3 earn rules, 2 of them capped, the spends listed as earning nothing and 2 recorded perks. The renewal fee is conditional — it is waived on a published spend target, so the fee you pay depends on what you spend.

BOBCARD's July-2026 revision withdraws the complimentary air and non-air accidental death cover that Select carried. Cards issued after 15 Jul 2026 get no cover, and existing cardholders keep it only until 25 Aug 2026 — removing the card's one insurance benefit.
