Kotak Privy League Signature Credit Card

Kotak Privy League Signature was a relationship card for Kotak's Privy League banking clients. The holder picked ONE reward plan and kept it — Shopper's (apparel, grocery, consumer durables, multi-brand online, departmental stores) or Traveller's (airlines, hotels, duty free, international spends, travel agencies) — earning 5 points per ₹100 on that plan's categories and 2 points per ₹100 everywhere else, with points worth about ₹0.20 in cash. It carried a 2% forex markup and Priority Pass with 4 international visits a year on the paid variant, up to 8 domestic lounge visits a year, and concierge service, on a nil joining fee and a ₹2,500 annual fee waived at ₹5 lakh of spend or by maintaining a Black or Platinum Banking relationship. Since 1 June 2025 the domestic lounge visits are spend-gated — ₹75,000 of spend in a calendar quarter unlocks access in the next one — rent earns nothing, and several categories earn only up to per-cycle limits. Kotak has since discontinued the card for new sourcing: its product page is now headed "Privy League Signature Credit Card (Discontinued)" and the card carries a "Discontinued for new applications" tag on Kotak's credit-card lineup. Existing cardholders keep the card and its benefits — Kotak says the product information is retained on its site "for existing cardholders only".

If you hold this card: You keep the card and everything on it — your Shopper’s or Traveller’s reward plan, the lounge quota, concierge and the 2% forex markup all continue. Kotak says the product information stays published “for existing cardholders only”. Only new sourcing has stopped.

Kotak’s own product page is now titled “Privy League Signature Credit Card (Discontinued)” and states: “We have discontinued Privy League Signature Credit Card for new sourcing and the information above is displayed for existing cardholders only.” The card also carries a “Discontinued for new applications” tag on Kotak’s credit-card lineup — one of six cards Kotak flags that way, alongside PVR Kotak Gold, PVR Kotak Platinum, Mojo Platinum, Royale Signature and Urbane Gold. Kotak named no replacement; Privy League clients shopping today are steered to the Zen Signature and White Reserve.

In-depth review

Kotak Privy League Signature Credit Card

Discontinued: Kotak has stopped sourcing this card and its product page is now headed '(Discontinued)' — so this is a guide for existing holders. For them it remains a serviceable relationship card: a choice of Shopper's or Traveller's reward plans and lounge access. The often-quoted ₹1,000-a-month milestone worth 6,400 points a quarter is a paid-variant benefit only — Kotak restricts it explicitly. Shopping Kotak premium today? Look at the Zen Signature or White Reserve.

The concern

Discontinued for new applications — Kotak no longer sources it, so it is only relevant to existing holders. Even for them, the plan-based earn is average against open-market premium cards.

Frequently asked questions

Can you still apply for the Kotak Privy League Signature?
No. Kotak has discontinued the Privy League Signature for new sourcing — its product page is headed "(Discontinued)" and the card is tagged "Discontinued for new applications" on Kotak's credit-card lineup. Existing cardholders keep the card and its benefits.
Who qualifies for Privy League status?
Kotak publishes three balance-based criteria for its Platinum Banking relationship — a relationship value of ₹30 lakh with an average monthly balance above ₹1 lakh, an average monthly balance above ₹10 lakh in savings, or an average monthly balance above ₹15 lakh in a current account. Those are banking-relationship criteria rather than a stated eligibility rule for the card, and Kotak published no income or credit-score bar for the card itself.
How do the milestones work?
The quarterly bonus of 6,400 points for spending ₹1,000 a month is a paid-variant benefit only — Kotak's page marks it "Only for paid card". Separately, anniversary milestones pay one bonus and not both — 7,000 points at ₹3 lakh or 30,000 at ₹8 lakh on the paid variant, 10,000 at ₹4 lakh or 30,000 at ₹8 lakh on the free one. The milestone schedule as last published: Paid variant only — 6,400 bonus points a quarter for spending ₹1,000 a month. Anniversary milestones pay one bonus and not both — paid variant 7,000 points at ₹3 lakh or 30,000 at ₹8 lakh, free variant 10,000 at ₹4 lakh or 30,000 at ₹8 lakh. Fully hit, that is worth about ₹5,120 a year on top of regular earn. Figures as of October 2026.
Which spends earn nothing or stop earning?
Since 1 June 2025 rent payments earn nothing at all, and points stop accruing beyond ₹1,00,000 a statement cycle on education and insurance, ₹75,000 on utility and government, ₹15,000 on online skill-based gaming and ₹10,000 on wallet loads. Those categories, plus fuel and rent, are also left out of milestone spend. In effective-return terms this card's best everyday earn is 1% on international, against 0.4% on other spends — percentages here are the real return after converting points at their card-specific value, not the headline points-per-₹100. Figures as of October 2026.
How was the annual fee waived?
The annual fee was waived on ₹5 lakh of spend in the preceding year or by maintaining a Black or Platinum Banking relationship with Kotak. On a relationship card the second route is the one most holders actually used. The renewal fee is ₹2,500 plus 18% GST — ₹2,950 all-in, which is the figure that actually hits the statement. Spending ₹5,00,000 in the card year waives the renewal fee — about ₹41,667 a month. Figures as of October 2026.
Where was the card available?
Kotak offered it in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi (including Gurgaon and Noida), Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and Pune. That is moot now that sourcing is closed.
What is 1 reward point worth?
About ₹0.20 per point in cash since 1 June 2025, when Kotak cut it from ₹0.25 (minimum 2,000 points to redeem). 5 points per ₹100 on your plan's select categories works out to ~1% effective return.
How many lounge visits?
Up to 8 a year (2 per quarter), but since 1 June 2025 they are spend-gated — you must spend ₹75,000 in a calendar quarter to unlock lounge access the following quarter. As per the last benefit schedule the issuer published for this card: 2 domestic airport lounge visits per quarter (8 a year), unlocked only by spending ₹75,000 in the previous calendar quarter, plus Priority Pass membership with 4 international visits a year on the paid variant. Figures as of October 2026.
Is there a forex markup?
2% — good for occasional international use. On this card the foreign-currency markup is 2%, and 18% GST applies on the markup fee, so the effective cost is about 2.36% of the transaction. On ₹1,00,000 of overseas spend that works out to roughly ₹2,360 in conversion charges before any rewards offset. Figures as of October 2026.
Can non-Privy League customers apply?
The Privy League card is specifically for Privy League banking tier customers. Regular Kotak customers should look at League Platinum instead.
