In-depth review
IndiGo XL Kotak Credit Card
The premium tier of the Kotak x IndiGo co-brand — 8 domestic lounge visits a year, up to 16,000 milestone BluChips, and 5 BluChips per ₹100 from the card on direct IndiGo bookings. Kotak advertises 'up to 21', but IndiGo's own split puts 12 of those on booking through IndiGo's channels and 4 on Blu 1 tier status, both earned with any card. Off IndiGo earning is a thin 2–3 per ₹100, and the ₹3,000 fee has no simple spend waiver — the welcome and renewal vouchers offset it instead.

Travel: 5 BluChips per ₹100 from the card on direct IndiGo bookings. Kotak advertises "up to 21", but 12 of those come from booking on IndiGo's own channels and 4 from Blu 1 tier status — both earned with any card, and Blu 1 is the top of three tiers (new members start at Blu 3) · IndiGo (app & website)
Dining: 3 BluChips per ₹100 on dining and entertainment spends
OTT & Entertainment: 3 BluChips per ₹100 on entertainment spends — Kotak pays the accelerated rate on "Dining & Entertainment" as one category, so entertainment earns 3, not the 2 base
Other: 2 BluChips per ₹100 on all other retail spends
Earns nothing on: Rent · Wallet Loads · Education · Government & Tax · Fuel
These spends earn no rewards at all — not a reduced rate, and not the base rate. They are also normally left out of any milestone or fee-waiver calculation.

Pros & cons
✓ Pros
- 5 BluChips per ₹100 from the card on direct IndiGo bookings — the premium tier's IndiGo earn rate
- 8 domestic lounge visits a year, plus welcome and renewal BluChip vouchers
- Milestone BluChip vouchers worth up to 16,000 a year for higher spenders
✕ Cons
- Only 5 of the advertised 21 BluChips per ₹100 come from the card — 12 come from booking on IndiGo's own channels and 4 from Blu 1 tier status, both earned with any card
- BluChips redeem only against IndiGo fares, not as cash — value is concentrated in IndiGo flying
- ₹3,000 fee has no simple spend waiver; recovered only via the welcome/renewal vouchers
- Off-IndiGo earning is thin (2–3 BluChips per ₹100), and rent/wallet/education/government/fuel earn nothing

How to redeem rewards
Ways to convert what you earn into real value.

- 🎁Welcome, renewal and milestone BluChip vouchers credited to the IndiGo BluChip account
What your IndiGo BluChip are worth
Realistic value per point by redemption route — the difference is what most people leave on the table.
₹0.42 per BluChip against IndiGo base fare; airline-only, and BluChips expire with account inactivity
BluChips are airline scrip usable only on IndiGo and devaluable at IndiGo's discretion, only 5 of the advertised 21 per ₹100 come from the card itself, off-IndiGo earning is thin, and the ₹3,000 fee is recovered only through the vouchers and IndiGo flying — light flyers will not justify it.

The bottom line
IndiGo XL is a real IndiGo earner, but the headline needs reading correctly. Of the advertised 21 BluChips per ₹100 on direct bookings, 5 come from the card and 16 from IndiGo's own booking channels and Blu 1 tier status — earned with any card, so they are not what the ₹3,000 buys. What it does buy is 5 BluChips per ₹100 on IndiGo, 8 domestic lounges and up to 16,000 milestone BluChips a year. Off IndiGo earning is a thin 2–3 per ₹100, BluChips only spend on IndiGo, and there is no straightforward spend waiver — the welcome and renewal vouchers offset the fee instead. Worth it for the regular IndiGo flyer; overkill for anyone else.

IndiGo Kotak Credit Card
The base tier of the Kotak x IndiGo co-brand at ₹1,500 — a 2,500-BluChip welcome voucher, a matching 2,500 on every renewal, and milestone vouchers worth up to 7,500 BluChips a year. Read the 'up to 19 BluChips per ₹100' headline carefully: only 3 of those come from the card. And unlike the ₹3,000 IndiGo XL, this one has no lounge access at all.

Legacy 6E Rewards retired; IndiGo Kotak co-brand fully on BluChips
6E Rewards (legacy IndiGo co-brand points)→IndiGo BluChips (1 BluChip approx Rs 1 against IndiGo fares)
IndiGo wound down its legacy 6E Rewards currency: Kotak stopped issuing the old 6E Rewards / 6E Rewards XL cards from 25 September 2025, and by early October 2025 every 6E Rewards balance was auto-converted to IndiGo BluChips and existing holders were migrated onto the new BluChip cards — the base IndiGo Kotak and this premium IndiGo XL. This card was born on BluChips (it never earned 6E Rewards), so nothing about its own earning changed; the event made BluChips the sole live IndiGo Kotak currency and folded the legacy 6E base into this product line.

IndiGo XL Kotak launched — new premium BluChip co-brand
Kotak Mahindra Bank and IndiGo relaunched their co-brand on 10 July 2025 with two brand-new BluChip-earning cards — the base IndiGo Kotak and this premium IndiGo XL (Rs 3,000 joining and annual fee). This XL is a fresh SKU, not a rename of the old Rs 1,500 6E Rewards XL: it earns up to 21 IndiGo BluChips per Rs 100 on direct IndiGo bookings (3 on dining and entertainment, 2 elsewhere), gives 8 domestic lounge visits a year (2 per quarter), a 4,000-BluChip welcome voucher plus a 6E Eats voucher, a matching renewal voucher, and up to 16,000 milestone BluChips across Rs 1.5L / Rs 4L / Rs 7.5L / Rs 12L of annual spend. Applicants must be enrolled in IndiGo's BluChip programme.
