Kotak Zen Signature Credit Card

The Kotak Zen Signature offers domestic lounge access at a ₹1,500 fee, waived at a clearable ₹1.5 lakh of spend — decent value for a Kotak account holder who travels domestically. Kotak now markets it simply as the Kotak Zen Credit Card; the Zen Signature name survives in the card page URL, the eligibility page and the MITC, so both names describe the same product. It earns 10 Zen points per ₹150 on shopping and 5 per ₹150 on other eligible spends. What those are worth depends on how you redeem. A Zen point is ₹0.25 against Kotak's catalogue (mobile recharge, shopping, vouchers) but only ₹0.20 in cash, so the shopping rate is 1.67% or 1.33% and the base is 0.83% or 0.67%. Milestones pay 7,500 points at ₹3 lakh OR 15,000 at ₹6 lakh — one, not both. A 1,500-point welcome gift is credited once the ₹1,500 joining fee is actually realised, so a fee-free issue does not get it. The June 2025 revision cut into all of it. The cash value fell from ₹0.25 to ₹0.20 with a 2,000-point minimum, lounges became spend-gated at ₹75,000 a quarter, wallet loads, fuel, rent, online gaming and EMI conversions stopped earning entirely, and utility, education, insurance and government spends earn only up to per-cycle limits. All earning also stops at 6,500 points a billing cycle, which shopping alone reaches at ₹97,500. Two surcharge waivers survive the revision and are worth knowing about — 1% on fuel transactions of ₹500 to ₹5,000, capped at ₹3,500 an anniversary year, and a railway surcharge waiver of 1.8% online or 2.5% at the counter, capped at ₹500 a year. Since fuel itself earns no Zen points, the waiver is the only fuel benefit on the card. Judge it on the perks you will use, not the points.

In-depth review

Kotak Zen Signature Credit Card

Domestic and international lounge access at a ₹1,500 fee, waived at a clearable spend — genuinely strong value for a Kotak account holder who travels. The June 2025 devaluation softened it (lounges now spend-gated at ₹75k/quarter, some categories capped), so it's "decent with conditions" now. Judge it on the perks you'll use, not the points — worth ₹0.25 against the catalogue but only ₹0.20 in cash after the June 2025 cut.

👑 PREMIUM LIFESTYLE BENEFITS

Concierge, golf, hotel membership and high-value perks for premium cardholders.

Who is this for?

For Kotak account holders who travel domestically and will clear ₹75,000 a quarter to keep the lounge access live, and who will redeem against the catalogue rather than cash. Less compelling for occasional spenders after the 2025 lounge gating, and a poor fit if much of your spending is fuel or rent, which earn nothing.

Domestic

Should you get it?

Pros & cons

✓ Pros

  • 1.67% on shopping against the catalogue (10 Zen points per ₹150) — strong for the fee tier
  • 2 domestic lounge visits a quarter (on ₹75,000 of prior-quarter spend) at a ₹1,500 fee
  • Fee waived at ₹1.5L annual spend (₹12,500/month)
  • 5 Zen points per ₹150 (0.83% catalogue) on other eligible spends
  • 1,500-point welcome gift, credited once the ₹1,500 joining fee is realised (not on a fee-free issue)
  • 1% fuel surcharge waiver up to ₹3,500 a year and a railway surcharge waiver up to ₹500, both intact after the 2025 revision

✕ Cons

  • Kotak reward points ecosystem smaller than HDFC or Axis
  • International lounge access limited to 3 Priority Pass visits a year
  • Weaker earning on non-accelerated categories (5 Zen points per ₹150 = 0.83% catalogue, 0.67% cash)
  • Fuel, rent, wallet loads, online gaming and EMI conversions earn nothing since 1 June 2025
  • All earning stops at 6,500 points a billing cycle
  • Cash redemption values a point at ₹0.20, down from ₹0.25 on 1 June 2025

The concern

The 2025 revision spend-gated the lounges (₹75k/quarter), zeroed earning on fuel, rent, wallet, gaming and EMI, and capped several other categories — so occasional spenders get far less than the headline. A point is ₹0.25 only against the catalogue; cashing out returns ₹0.20, with a 2,000-point floor.

→

Kotak White Reserve Credit Card

The Kotak White Reserve is a ₹12,500 metal super-premium card — Kotak's genuine flagship, built on a milestone-based "White Pass" reward currency with unlimited lounges, Club Marriott and two golf rounds a month. For a high-net-worth Kotak customer who'll clear ₹10 lakh of spend, the bundle clears the fee; for everyone else, the HDFC Diners Black runs deeper.

→

Kotak League Platinum Credit Card

Once a quietly smart low-fee pick for the urban movie-and-dining crowd, a June 2025 devaluation (redemption minimums and category caps) knocked it down a peg — reward points worth up to ₹0.10 (less on cash), an effective rate of ~0.5% at best, and a movie benefit that's milestone-based (4 PVR tickets per ₹1.25 lakh every six months), not a monthly perk. Hold it only if you'll clear the milestone; otherwise a flat-cashback card serves you better.

→

Kotak Privy League Signature Credit Card

Discontinued: Kotak has stopped sourcing this card and its product page is now headed '(Discontinued)' — so this is a guide for existing holders. For them it remains a serviceable relationship card: a choice of Shopper's or Traveller's reward plans and lounge access. The often-quoted ₹1,000-a-month milestone worth 6,400 points a quarter is a paid-variant benefit only — Kotak restricts it explicitly. Shopping Kotak premium today? Look at the Zen Signature or White Reserve.

→

Kotak Solitaire Credit Card

An invite-only travel card for Kotak's ₹75-lakh-relationship crowd — zero forex, unlimited domestic and international lounges, and Air Miles worth a real ₹1 each on travel (10 per ₹100 on Kotak Unbox bookings, 3 per ₹100 elsewhere). No fee while you stay in the program, but a ₹25,000 downgrade clause and a wide no-earn exclusions list keep it honest. A genuinely good card for the few who are invited to it.

→

IndiGo XL Kotak Credit Card

The premium tier of the Kotak x IndiGo co-brand — 8 domestic lounge visits a year, up to 16,000 milestone BluChips, and 5 BluChips per ₹100 from the card on direct IndiGo bookings. Kotak advertises 'up to 21', but IndiGo's own split puts 12 of those on booking through IndiGo's channels and 4 on Blu 1 tier status, both earned with any card. Off IndiGo earning is a thin 2–3 per ₹100, and the ₹3,000 fee has no simple spend waiver — the welcome and renewal vouchers offset it instead.

→

Myntra Kotak Credit Card

No longer issued — reported withdrawn on 10 July 2025, with holders reported moved to the Kotak League Platinum or Zen Signature, neither of which carries the Myntra benefit that defined it. There's no live card to recommend. Myntra's own card store now lists the Flipkart Axis and Flipkart SBI cards; both match its 7.5% on Myntra, but cap the cashback by quarter where this card capped only the transaction.
