SBI SimplySAVE Credit Card

The SBI SimplySAVE is the offline counterpart to the SimplyCLICK — 10 reward points per ₹150 on dining, movies, groceries and departmental stores, a welcome bonus worth most of the fee, and a ₹499 charge that waives at ₹1 lakh. It pays you for spending you were doing anyway. The standing SBI caveat applies: a modest point value (~₹0.25 on portal redemption) pulls the real return on the bonus categories to about 1.7% (10 RP per ₹150), with other spends earning 1 RP per ₹150 (~0.17%). A 2,000-point welcome bonus on ₹2,000 of spend in 60 days is worth ₹500, about 85% of the ₹589 all-in fee, and there is a 1% fuel surcharge waiver.

The concern

A modest ~₹0.25 point value pulls the bonus-category return to ~1.7% and other spends to ~0.17% — fine as an everyday offline card, not a high earner.

Frequently asked questions

What earns 10X reward points?
Grocery, dining, movies and departmental stores earn 10X (10 RP per ₹150, ~1.7%) as an ongoing category rate — not an intro offer. Separately, a welcome bonus of 2,000 points is earned on ₹2,000 of spend in the first 60 days. In effective-return terms this card's best everyday earn is 1.67% on dining (rewards capped at ₹1,250 a month in that category), against 0.17% on other spends — percentages here are the real return after converting points at their card-specific value, not the headline points-per-₹100. Figures as of October 2026.
What is 1 reward point worth?
₹0.25 per point. 10X on dining, groceries, movies and departmental stores (10 RP per ₹150) works out to ~1.7% effective; other spends earn 1 RP per ₹150, about 0.17% effective.
What is the annual fee waiver?
₹1 lakh annual spend waives the ₹499 annual fee — easy for a household grocery and dining card. The renewal fee is ₹499 plus 18% GST — ₹589 all-in, which is the figure that actually hits the statement. Spending ₹1,00,000 in the card year waives the renewal fee — about ₹8,333 a month. Figures as of October 2026.
Does it earn on utility bills?
Verify with SBI Card — utility bill payments may earn reward points but confirm the current earn rate.
Is there lounge access?
No — SimplySAVE is a rewards card without airport lounge access.

SimplySAVE pays you for spending you were doing anyway — 10X on dining, groceries, movies and departmental stores, a welcome bonus worth most of the ₹499 fee, and a low ₹1 lakh waiver. Just price the bonus categories at ~1.7% (not the ~2.5% sometimes quoted — that is SimplyCLICK's rate), and pair it with an online card for e-commerce.

How this page was built

Counted from this card’s own record: 3 earn rules, 2 of them capped, the spends listed as earning nothing and 1 recorded perk. The renewal fee is conditional — it is waived on a published spend target, so the fee you pay depends on what you spend.

It pays you for spending you were doing anyway. The standing SBI caveat: a modest point value (~₹0.25, portal redemption) pulls the real return to ~1.7% on the bonus categories.

SBI Card Unnati

An FD-backed starter card that is free for its first 4 years, aimed at people building a credit history. Rewards are bare-minimum — 1 point per Rs.100 (~0.25%) plus Rs.500 cashback at Rs.50,000 spend — so hold it to establish credit, not to earn. Remember it is not lifetime free; the fee starts in year 5.

→

SBI SimplyCLICK Credit Card

The entry-level online shopping card done right — 10X on a set of online partner brands (Apollo 24x7, BookMyShow, Cleartrip, Gyftr, Myntra, Tata CLiQ and more), 5X on all other online spend, plus twice-yearly Cleartrip/Yatra vouchers worth ₹2,000 each at ₹1 lakh and ₹2 lakh of online spend that return several times the ₹499 fee. Note Amazon was dropped from the 10X partner list — it now earns the ordinary 5X online rate (a ₹500 Amazon welcome voucher remains). Still one of the better budget online cards; upgrade to SBI Cashback once your online spend grows.

→

Landmark Rewards SBI Card

The ₹499 entry rung of SBI's Landmark ladder: 10 Reward Points per ₹100 (~2.5%) at Lifestyle, Home Centre, Max and Spar, a ₹500 welcome that covers most of the ₹589 all-in fee, and up to ₹2,000 in milestone points. A cheap, honest loyalty card if you shop the Landmark Group — but points are worth ₹0.25 and only really redeem in those stores.

→

Apollo SBI Card

The Rs. 499 entry health card: 3X Reward Points (~3%) plus up to 10% instant discount on Apollo services, 2X on dining and entertainment, and a OneApollo Gold membership. Points redeem as Apollo Health Credits with instant POS redemption. A cheap, honest pick — but only if Apollo Pharmacy is part of your routine.

→

Reliance SBI Card

A ₹499 entry co-brand for Reliance shoppers: 10 Reward Points per ₹100 (~2.5%) on AJIO and JioMart, up to ₹2,250 in annual Reliance vouchers, and a fee that reverses at ₹1 lakh. A sensible low-cost pick if you already shop at Reliance — but points are worth just ₹0.25 and redeem only into Reliance vouchers.

→

Shaurya Select SBI Card

The step-up defence card: a first-year-free Rs.1,499 card for armed-forces members that adds 4 domestic lounge visits, concierge and milestone vouchers up to Rs.7,000 on top of 2.5% on CSD canteen, dining, movies, grocery and departmental stores (0.5% elsewhere). Good if you spend enough to waive the fee at Rs.1.5 lakh. Its 5X is twice the entry Shaurya's, whatever the shared marketing suggests.

→

Shaurya SBI Card

A defence-personnel card with an unusually low Rs.250 fee, 5X points on everyday categories including CSD canteen spends, and a 1,000-point welcome worth most of the fee. It is a genuinely good-value entry card for armed-forces members — provided you know points are worth only Re.0.25 each.

→

RBL Bank ShopRite Credit Card

One of India's better dedicated grocery cards — 5% back on supermarket spend for a ₹500 fee waived at ₹1.5 lakh, a real and recurring saving for the offline-first family. The catch before you apply: the 5% is capped at 1,000 reward points a month (₹5,000 of grocery spend), not uncapped. Within that cap, it's genuinely good. Beyond it, it drops to the base rate — and fuel, utilities, insurance, rent, wallets, education, government services and EMI earn nothing at all.

→

SBI Card PULSE

A genuinely empty niche, filled — one of the very few Indian cards built around health and fitness spending, paying 10X on pharmacy, dining, movies and sports, and bundling a Noise smartwatch SBI lists at ₹7,999, FITPASS PRO and Netmeds First, a bundle that more than covers the ₹1,769 all-in fee if you'd use it. For the Cult.fit-and-Netmeds demographic the math works cleanly. Outside the health categories it's an ordinary 0.5% card, and the bundled cover is travel and fraud protection, not health insurance.

→

Apollo SBI Card SELECT

A health-focused co-brand that pays 10 Reward Points per Rs. 100 (~10%) at Apollo 24|7 and Apollo Pharmacy, plus up to 25% Circle value back, a 1-year FITPASS PRO membership, a health check-up and lounge access. But points redeem only as Apollo Health Credits — so it only makes sense if Apollo is genuinely part of your life.

Statement-credit redemption capped and forced into 4,000-point blocks

Any point balance, no monthly ceiling→Max 60,000 points/month, only in multiples of 4,000 (₹1,000)

From 1 April 2026 SBI capped statement-credit redemption at 60,000 reward points a month and allowed it only in multiples of 4,000 points (₹1,000 blocks at ₹0.25/point) across most cards including SimplySAVE (Air India SBI Signature and the two PhonePe cards are exempt). The 60k cap rarely binds a low-spend SimplySAVE holder, but the 4,000-point minimum ends flexible partial redemptions.
