In-depth review
HDFC Millennia Credit Card
The Millennia solves the Amazon-or-Flipkart dilemma by paying 5% on both — and on Swiggy and Zomato, Myntra and Tata CLiQ — ten brands at once, for a ₹1,000 fee that waives at a trivial ₹1 lakh. It came through 2026's HDFC devaluation untouched. The catch is a ~₹1,000 monthly cap that makes it superb for the moderate online spender and inefficient once your partner spending runs past ~₹20,000 a month.

Pros & cons
✓ Pros
- 5% on Amazon + Flipkart + Swiggy + Zomato simultaneously — ₹8,000/month across all four = ₹4,800/year
- Annual fee of ₹1,000 waived at ₹1L spend — cleared in month 2 for most users
- CashPoints redeem at ₹1 each on statement — no portal, no catalogue, no minimum
- 1% CashPoints on all non-partner spends, plus a ₹1,000 voucher or 1 lounge visit each quarter (₹1L/quarter spend)
✕ Cons
- 5% is capped at ₹1,000/month cashback — above ₹20,000/month on partner platforms you earn only 1%
- 3.5% forex markup — switch to another card for international purchases
- Best value is concentrated in 10 specific partner brands — non-partner online spend earns just 1%
- Routing those same brands through PayZapp or SmartBuy silently drops them from 5% to 1%
- Uber earns 5% on rides only; Uber Eats falls to the 1% base
- Redemption friction — 500-CashPoint minimum, ₹50 statement-credit fee, ₹99 catalogue fee, and statement-credit redemption capped at 3,000 CashPoints a month

The bottom line
Millennia is still a capable 5%-on-10-brands card, and it dodged the May 2026 devaluation. The catch the catalog glossed over: lounge access and the quarterly voucher now demand ₹1 lakh/quarter spend, and both 5% and 1% are capped at 1,000 points a month — so the realistic return is modest. Good for partner-brand shoppers, not as a lounge play.
How this page was built
Counted from this card’s own record: 2 earn rules, 2 of them capped, 1 paid only at named merchants, the spends listed as earning nothing and 3 recorded perks. The renewal fee is conditional — it is waived on a published spend target, so the fee you pay depends on what you spend.

HDFC Credit Card Ladder 2026: Millennia → Regalia Gold → Infinia Upgrade Path
HDFC Bank's credit card ecosystem runs from Millennia (entry) through Regalia Gold (mid-premium) to Infinia (super-premium). This guide maps the full ladder, the SmartBuy benefits that grow with each tier, and how to navigate the upgrade path efficiently.

Credit Card Annual Fee Waivers: What Banks Don't Tell You (And How to Game Them)
I've been navigating Indian credit card fee waivers for over a decade. I've saved thousands by hitting thresholds — and once lost ₹4,999 because I was counting the wrong transactions. Here's everything I wish someone had written down.
SBI Cashback Credit Card
A flat 5% on online shopping, no merchant list to memorise — still the best single online card for most people, and the ₹999 fee waives at ₹2 lakh. An April 2026 devaluation cut the cap to ₹4,000 (5% online capped at ₹2,000) and excluded gaming, toll and government payments. Moderate spenders won't notice; heavy spenders should now compare the Axis Cashback — now closed to new applicants, so an option for existing holders rather than one you can newly apply for.
HDFC MoneyBack+ Credit Card
A competent entry-level cashback card — 10X CashPoints on Amazon, Flipkart, Swiggy, Reliance Smart and BigBasket, a ₹500 fee waived at ₹50,000, a 500-CashPoint welcome benefit (worth ₹100), and a ₹500 voucher for each quarter you spend ₹50,000. It was NOT spared 2026's HDFC devaluation — the earn denominator widened from ₹150 to ₹200 on 15 May 2026, and the CashPoint itself was cut to 20 paise on 1 November 2025. The trouble: HDFC's own Millennia covers more platforms and generally pays better (for a ₹1,000 fee against ₹500), and the MoneyBack+'s low CashPoint value caps its return. A fine first HDFC card, rarely the best one.
Best Credit Cards for Swiggy and Zomato in India (2026): The Real Earn Rates
Swiggy and Zomato spend adds up fast. Here's which cards actually earn well on food delivery in 2026 — including the UPI earn trap most guides miss, and when the dedicated co-branded card beats a general cashback card.
Swiggy HDFC Bank Credit Card
10% back across the entire Swiggy super-app — food delivery, Instamart, Dineout — for a ₹500 fee, and it came through 2026's HDFC devaluations untouched (with a handy new 5% Cleartrip benefit added). For a regular Swiggy household the fee pays for itself in weeks. The one risk is total app dependence; pair it with a good general card.
HDFC PIXEL Play Credit Card
HDFC's app-native cashback card with a good central idea — pick two of five cashback packs to earn 5% on, reshuffled quarterly, plus separately capped 5% on SmartBuy and 3% on one nominated platform. That is 1,500 CashPoints a month of accelerated earning across three caps, more than most summaries credit it with. The ₹500 fee waives at ₹1 lakh. The trade-off is familiar: it rewards the attentive and shortchanges the forgetful.
HDFC PIXEL Go Credit Card
HDFC's entry-most digital card, sitting one rung below the Pixel Play: a flat 1% unlimited cashback (as CashPoints, ₹1 each), 5% on SmartBuy capped at 500 CashPoints a month, and 1% on UPI on the RuPay variant — all at a low ₹250 fee. What you give up for that half-price fee is the Play's customisable 5% packs and its 3% on a chosen e-commerce platform. Neither card carries lounge access. It's the right pick only if you value simplicity and the lowest fee over earning power.
Best Cashback Credit Cards in India 2026: Top Picks for Straightforward Returns
The best cashback credit cards in India deliver 2–5% back on everyday categories without requiring you to manage points or transfer programmes. SBI Cashback leads for online spend; the Axis ACE — now closed to new applicants — remains the bills-and-recharges benchmark for those who hold it; HDFC Millennia bridges the gap.
HDFC Bank Freedom Credit Card
HDFC's oldest entry card, showing its age in 2026: a token ~0.075% base earn and a single real hook — 10X CashPoints (~0.75%) on exactly five brands, capped at 2,500 CashPoints a month. It only pays if your life clusters on BigBasket, BookMyShow, OYO, Swiggy and Uber; most people are better served by HDFC's own Pixel Go or a flat-cashback card.
RBL Bank Platinum Maxima Plus Credit Card
A fairly-priced lifestyle card with a smart category mix — 10X on dining and entertainment, plus movies and lounge access — that genuinely fits how urban Indians spend their fun money. The honest caveat is the points: monthly caps and a devalued point value pull the real return to a modest 1–2.5%. Buy it for the lifestyle perks you'll use, not for a 10X headline the fine print walks back.
HDFC SmartBuy 2026: The Complete Guide, Updated for the July Voucher Cap
HDFC SmartBuy earns 10X on hotels (12.5% return) and 5X on flights (6.25% return) for Regalia Gold at ₹0.50/point. Full 2026 strategy: the new Adani duty-free, Drivado airport transfers, WooHoo gift store and Imagine electronics additions; the monthly cap; the one 'via SmartBuy' step that decides whether you earn anything; and when to skip the portal.
Best Credit Cards for Utility Bills in India (2026): Electricity, Mobile, Gas, and More
Paying utility bills on a credit card sounds simple — but the exclusion list is longer than the benefits list on most cards. Here's which cards actually earn on utility payments in 2026, and the BBPS vs direct payment distinction that most people get wrong.
Bank of Baroda Eterna Credit Card
The best card Bank of Baroda makes — 3.75% on online, travel, dining and international spends plus unlimited domestic lounges, for a ₹2,499 fee that waives at ₹2.5 lakh of spend. On rate alone it punches well above BOB's reputation. The one persistent catch is redemption: BOB's shallow catalogue makes extracting the full 3.75% harder than earning it.
Tata Neu Plus HDFC Bank Credit Card
A ₹499 card with a split personality — for a household that has made BigBasket, Croma, 1mg and Westside its defaults, it acts like a generous cashback card (up to ~7% NeuCoins on Tata spends); for everyone else, it earns a currency you forget to spend. NeuCoins now expire in 12 months and are Tata-only. The right pick over the pricier Infinity for moderate Tata spenders — wrong entirely if your loyalty lives elsewhere.
RBL Bank Fun+ Credit Card
A movie-led entry card whose real benefit is a ₹500 BookMyShow voucher each month you spend ₹5,000, plus 10% off (max ₹100) on movie bookings — worth up to ₹6,000+ a year for a moviegoer who clears the spend. It's a ₹499 card (waived at ₹1.5 lakh), not lifetime-free, and its base earn is thin reward points, not the '3% online cashback' often quoted. Hold it for the movie benefit and pair it with a proper cashback card.
Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Credit Card
A high-earning co-brand that returns up to 10% in NeuCoins on Tata spends, plus 8+4 lounge visits, for a ₹1,499 fee waived at ₹3 lakh. Superb if you already shop BigBasket, Westside and Croma and fly Air India — near-worthless if you don't. The 2025–26 changes (UPI curbs, 12-month NeuCoin expiry) fence the rewards more tightly into Tata's rails. Buy it because you live in Tata, not to be lured in.
RBL Bank ShopRite Credit Card
One of India's better dedicated grocery cards — 5% back on supermarket spend for a ₹500 fee waived at ₹1.5 lakh, a real and recurring saving for the offline-first family. The catch before you apply: the 5% is capped at 1,000 reward points a month (₹5,000 of grocery spend), not uncapped. Within that cap, it's genuinely good. Beyond it, it drops to the base rate — and fuel, utilities, insurance, rent, wallets, education, government services and EMI earn nothing at all.
Swiggy Ornge HDFC Bank Credit Card
The entry tier of HDFC's split Swiggy card — 5% cashback on the Swiggy app plus 5% on select online brands, but the two 5% streams share a single ₹1,500/month cap, then 1% elsewhere. Cashback is now direct statement credit, and a free 12-month Swiggy One membership can cover the ₹500 fee on its own. A clean, low-fee pick for a genuinely Swiggy-first spender.
Best Credit Cards for Grocery Shopping in India 2026
Grocery is one of the largest spend categories for Indian households — yet most cards earn only 1%. The best grocery cards earn 5–10%: HSBC Live+ (10% on quick-commerce), RBL ShopRite (5% at offline supermarkets) and SBI Cashback (5% on all online grocery). This guide ranks the 2026 picks by where you actually shop.
Best Credit Cards for Online Shopping in India 2026
Platform-specific cards reach 7.5–10% on Myntra, Flipkart and Swiggy, while SBI Cashback pays a flat 5% across every online merchant. This guide separates the best broad online rate from the best rate available online — they are not the same card — and covers the caps and exclusions that decide which one you should actually hold.

1% markup→1.75% markup
HDFC's MITC: "Dynamic currency conversion Markup Fee: With effect from 15th May 2026, a Markup fee of 1.75% will be levied on all transactions carried out in Indian Currency at an international location or at merchants which are located in India but registered overseas." This is separate from, and stacks on top of, the card's ordinary foreign-currency markup. It is the charge you pay for accepting a terminal's offer to bill you in rupees while abroad - always decline that offer and pay in the local currency. It also catches India-based purchases from merchants registered overseas, which is easy to trigger without leaving the country. The PIXEL MITC dates the same change 17 May 2026.

HDFC's MITC: "Rent Pay Transactions: W.e.f. 1st July 2025, 1% fee on transaction amount will be levied on rental transactions... Fee capped at Rs 4999 per transaction"; "Wallet Loading (excl PayZapp) - W.e.f. 1st July 2025, 1% fee will be levied on Wallet loading spends exceeding Rs 10,000 in a calendar month"; "Online Skill based Gaming - W.e.f. 1st July 2025, 1% fee... exceeding Rs 10,000 in a calendar month". These are charges on top of the fact that most HDFC cards already earn zero reward points on the same categories - you pay to spend, and earn nothing for it. PayZapp wallet loads are exempt from the wallet fee.

Fee capped at Rs 4999 per month"; "Education Charges: 1% fee... on Education transactions done through third party applications like (but not limited to) CRED, Nobroker, Cheq etc." Paying school or college fees DIRECTLY to the institution is not charged - only routing them through a third-party app is. A 1% fee also applies to fuel transactions above Rs 15,000.

Insurance reward points capped, online gaming stops earning
Insurance uncapped on most cards; online skill-based gaming earned points→Insurance capped at 2,000 reward points a month (5,000 on Diners Black, 10,000 on Infinia); online skill-based gaming earns nothing
HDFC's MITC: "With effect from 1st July 2025, Reward Points accrued for insurance transactions will have a maximum cap of... 2000 per month for all other credit cards" and "With effect from 1st July 2025, Online Skill-Based gaming transactions will not earn Reward Points/CashPoints on all the cards." Insurance premiums are a common way to hit a milestone quickly, so the cap matters more than its size suggests.
