BEST FOR ONLINE SHOPPING
Best Credit Cards for Online Shopping in India 2026
Top credit cards for Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, and online shopping in India. Earn maximum cashback and reward points on every e-commerce order. Ordered by our own shortlist, chosen and ranked by hand — weighing real-world return against whether you can actually get the card. For the order at your own spend, use the recommender.
Online shopping credit cards maximise rewards on Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, and other e-commerce platforms. With so much spending now happening online, a card paying 5%+ on e-commerce — or co-branded cashback with a specific platform — can be the single most rewarding card in a wallet.
Co-branded cards give the highest platform-specific returns, while general online-shopping cards reward all e-commerce spends. Look for caps and whether the rate applies to all merchants or only partner sites. The cards below are our editors’ picks for online shopping — chosen for e-commerce rewards, strongest first.

Dynamic currency conversion markup more than doubles to 3.5%
1.5% + GST→3.5% + GST
Axis Bank raised the dynamic currency conversion mark-up from 1.5% to 3.5% plus GST. DCC applies when an overseas merchant offers to bill you in rupees instead of the local currency, and it stacks on top of the usual foreign-currency mark-up. Declining the rupee option at the terminal and paying in the local currency avoids the charge entirely.

Welcome benefit restructured into five UPI scratch cards
₹499 PhonePe gift voucher on the first UPI transaction, plus ₹50 on each of the next ten (₹999)→Five ₹200 cashback vouchers (scratch cards), one on each of the first five UPI-on-credit-card transactions of ₹100+ in the PhonePe app (₹1,000)
HDFC split the welcome benefit by application date: "For applications submitted on or after 1st Aug'26 — 5 Cashback Vouchers worth ₹200 each (via scratch cards) … limited to first 5 transactions with min ₹100 transaction value only via PhonePe app." The rupee total is unchanged in substance, but the mechanic is not — five qualifying transactions instead of eleven, each ₹100 or more and routed through the PhonePe app. Anyone who applied on or before 31 July 2026 keeps the older gift-voucher structure. Confirmed in HDFC's Ultimo FAQ v2.2 dated 28 July 2026.

Flipkart-App acquisition offers ended
₹250 e-gift voucher + ₹500 Flipkart e-gift card + ₹500 Cleartrip coupon (Flipkart App applications)→₹250 e-gift voucher only
Two time-limited acquisition offers that ran alongside the card from 26 August 2025 ended on 30 June 2026: a ₹500 Flipkart e-gift card and a flat ₹500 Cleartrip flights coupon, both available only to customers who applied through the Flipkart App and transacted within 30 days. A separate Cleartrip promotion (12% off flights, 25% off hotels) lapsed on the same date. The standing ₹250 Flipkart e-gift voucher on fee realisation is unaffected, as is the permanent 5% Cleartrip cashback tier. We had been carrying the ₹1,000 as part of the card's standing welcome benefit and as an unconditional offer; it was neither.

Dynamic currency conversion markup raised to 1.75%
1% markup→1.75% markup
HDFC's MITC: "Dynamic currency conversion Markup Fee: With effect from 15th May 2026, a Markup fee of 1.75% will be levied on all transactions carried out in Indian Currency at an international location or at merchants which are located in India but registered overseas." This is separate from, and stacks on top of, the card's ordinary foreign-currency markup. It is the charge you pay for accepting a terminal's offer to bill you in rupees while abroad - always decline that offer and pay in the local currency. It also catches India-based purchases from merchants registered overseas, which is easy to trigger without leaving the country. The PIXEL MITC dates the same change 17 May 2026.

Minimum Amount Due rebuilt as a two-branch formula
5% of the outstanding amount, plus instalments, the over-limit amount, fee GST and any unpaid previous MAD→100% of GST, EMI principal and interest, fees, the over-limit amount and unpaid MAD, plus 5% of retail spends, cash advances and the finance charge — the finance charge taken in full whenever that 5% falls short of it
From the 1 March 2026 statement onwards ICICI stopped deriving the Minimum Amount Due from a single 5%-of-outstanding line and began building it component by component: GST, EMI principal and interest, fees and charges, the over-limit amount and any unpaid previous MAD are all taken at 100%, and 5% is applied to retail spends, cash advances and the finance charge. Where 5% of those three comes to less than the finance charge alone, the whole finance charge is added instead and only retail and cash are taken at 5%. ICICI illustrates both branches itself — a minimum of ₹11,210 on a ₹37,830 total due, and ₹21,620 on a ₹1,15,810 total due where finance charges dominate. Paying the statement in full is unaffected; the minimum rises only for people carrying a balance or taking cash.

New wallet, gaming & transport transaction fees
No such fees→1% wallet loads ≥₹5,000; 2% skill-based gaming; 1% transport >₹50,000
As part of ICICI's portfolio-wide 2026 revision, the card added a 1% fee on wallet-load transactions of ₹5,000 or more (MCC 6540), a 2% fee on skill-based gaming transactions (MCC 5816), and a 1% fee on any transport transaction exceeding ₹50,000 (MCC 4111/4112/4784/4131). All three thresholds are per transaction, not per month. Note the card remains exempt from the reward-side e-wallet-reload exclusion, so a wallet load still earns the 1% base — it just costs 1% to make.

Cashback exclusion list widened — education, international AND off-Amazon utilities
Near-universal 1% base earn→Education, international and utilities paid outside Amazon excluded; gold/silver, tax, fuel, rent, EMI and cash already were
Clauses 11 and 12 of ICICI's Amazon Pay card T&C add two exclusions with effect from 11 Oct 2025: education and international transactions earn no Reward Points, and — the change most coverage missed — utility transactions made OUTSIDE the Amazon platform earn nothing either. Clause 13 (fuel, gold, silver, any precious metal and any tax-related payment) and clause 17 (EMI, EMI-on-call and cash) restate exclusions that already applied, and rent went in June 2024. Two things survive: insurance premiums still earn the 1% base, and non-tax GOVERNMENT MCCs still earn, because this card is the MITC's named exception to the rule that reclassifies government spend as a utility payment. The 'unlimited cashback' proposition narrowed to Amazon, Amazon Pay checkout and a shrinking base.

Forex markup slashed 3.5% to 1.99%
3.50%→1.99%
Alongside a 7-year partnership renewal, ICICI cut the foreign-currency markup from 3.5% to 1.99%, repositioning the no-fee card as usable for international/travel spends. The 5% Prime / 3% non-Prime core rates were left unchanged.

Flipkart SBI Card launched
SBI Card and Flipkart launched their co-branded card on 26 August 2025: 7.5% cashback on Myntra, 5% on Flipkart, Shopsy, Flipkart Travel and Cleartrip, 4% at four select merchants (SBI names the tier but has never published which four) and 1% unlimited on all other spends. Each accelerated tier is capped at ₹4,000 cashback per quarter; fuel, wallet loads, rent, government, education, insurance, jewellery, gaming and EMI spends are excluded. Fee is ₹500 (reversed on ₹3.5 lakh annual spend). The standing welcome benefit is a ₹250 Flipkart e-gift voucher within 60 days of fee realisation. Corrected 2026-08-06: we had recorded the welcome as ₹1,250 and named the four merchants as Zomato, Uber, PVR and Netmeds — SBI publishes neither. The extra ₹1,000 was a separate, Flipkart-App-only acquisition offer (see the 2026-06-30 event).

PhonePe HDFC Bank Ultimo launched (RuPay co-brand, UPI-linked)
PhonePe's first co-branded card with HDFC Bank debuts on the RuPay network with UPI credit payments: 10% Reward Points on select PhonePe spends — recharges, bills and travel/stays (capped 1,000 points/month), 5% on select online brands (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Ajio, Uber, Swiggy, Zomato; capped 500/month) and 1% on RuPay-on-UPI Scan & Pay (capped 500/month), with points worth ₹1 each. It adds up to 8 domestic lounge visits a year (2/quarter, gated on ₹75,000 of spend), a ₹999 + GST joining/annual fee waived at ₹2 lakh spend, and a ₹999-equivalent welcome (₹499 voucher on first UPI payment plus ₹50 on the next 10). Applied for only inside the PhonePe app; the Ultimo is the upper tier above the ₹499 PhonePe HDFC Uno.

Complimentary domestic lounge access withdrawn
4 complimentary domestic lounge visits/year→None
On the same 20 June 2025 revision, the 4 complimentary domestic airport lounge accesses were discontinued entirely, completing the card's shift from a lifestyle card with travel perks to a pure shopping-rewards card.

Unlimited 5% ends — ₹4,000/quarter caps added; Myntra raised to 7.5%
Unlimited 5% on Flipkart & Cleartrip; 1% on Myntra→5% Flipkart & 5% Cleartrip each capped ₹4,000/quarter; Myntra 7.5% capped ₹4,000/quarter
Effective 20 June 2025 the uncapped 5% ended: Flipkart and Cleartrip each keep 5% but capped at ₹4,000 per statement quarter, while Myntra was raised from 1% to 7.5% (also capped ₹4,000/quarter). Excluded categories are now identified by spend-category name (Utility, Rent, Wallet, etc.) rather than 4-digit MCC. Each merchant carries its own ₹4,000 ceiling — the surpluses are held separately and never pooled between Flipkart, Myntra and Cleartrip — so the ceiling is near ₹16,000 a year per merchant, against the previously uncapped upside.

Welcome Flipkart voucher halved from ₹500 to ₹250
Flipkart voucher worth ₹500 on the first transaction within 30 days→Flipkart voucher worth ₹250, and only on fee-paying cards
The same 20 June 2025 revision halved the welcome benefit: Axis's dedicated welcome T&C is now titled "Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card Welcome Benefit: Flipkart Voucher worth Rs. 250", and the product page adds a restriction the ₹500 era did not carry — first-year-free cards with no joining fee are not eligible for the voucher at all. Axis advertises the welcome as "₹350 worth of activation benefits", but the extra ₹100 is a 50%-off Swiggy coupon restricted to first-time Swiggy users, not a second voucher.

Finance charges raised; new spend surcharges added
3.6%/mo APR; 1% DCC markup; no wallet/fuel/utility surcharge→3.75%/mo APR; 1.5% DCC markup; 1% surcharges on high wallet/fuel/utility/education/gaming spends
Effective 20 Dec 2024, the monthly finance charge rose 3.6%→3.75%, dynamic-currency-conversion markup 1%→1.5%, and cash-payment fee ₹100→₹175; new 1% surcharges hit cumulative wallet loads ≥₹10,000, fuel ≥₹50,000, utilities ≥₹25,000, third-party education and online gaming ≥₹10,000, and MCCs 9222/9311/9402 (government/tax) were excluded from cashback. The 3.75%/mo APR matches the current catalog.

Rent payments dropped from rewards
1% reward on rent→0% on rent
Rent transactions stopped earning the 1% reward with a 30-day RBI-mandated notice; the same change also disabled the option to part-pay other purchases using Amazon Pay balance. Fuel surcharge waiver was unaffected.
