If you hold this card: You keep the legacy Tata Card SELECT — only new applications have stopped. The NeuCoins-based Tata Neu Infinity SBI Card earns materially more across the Tata ecosystem, with a far better forex markup.
The premium tier of SBI’s 2019 Tata co-brand range, superseded by the NeuCoins-based Tata Neu SBI cards (Infinity and Plus, launched 2025). No cutover date was announced; it is closed to new applicants and kept here for reference.

Quick verdict: A discontinued premium Tata co-brand from 2019 — 3X points on grocery, dining and international spends, up to 5X at Tata outlets, and spend-linked vouchers worth up to ₹6,000. It is closed to new applicants and has been superseded by the Tata Neu SBI cards, so this page exists as a reference record for existing holders and anyone researching the old range, not as a recommendation to apply.
The Tata Card SELECT was the upper tier of SBI's original Tata co-brand pairing, launched in February 2019 alongside the entry-level Tata Card. It predates the entire Tata Neu era: at the time, Tata's loyalty story was a set of "value back" outlets and an SBI Reward Points structure, not the unified NeuCoins wallet that exists today. When Tata consolidated its rewards under Tata Neu, this card — and its sibling — were retired.
What it offered
For a ₹2,999 annual fee, the SELECT earned:
- 3X Reward Points on Departmental & Grocery stores, Dining and International spends.
- Up to 5X points on spends at select Tata outlets.
- Spend-linked e-gift vouchers worth up to ₹6,000 on hitting annual milestone thresholds.
- A base of roughly 1 Reward Point per ₹100 on everything else.
SBI Reward Points on this card were worth about ₹0.25 each, so even the accelerated 3X categories translated to roughly 0.75% back — modest by today's standards, though the Tata-outlet accelerators and milestone vouchers added the real sweetener for Tata-loyal households.
Why it was retired
The card's design belonged to a pre-Tata-Neu world. Once Tata launched the Tata Neu super-app and NeuCoins as a single group-wide currency, a co-brand that paid scattered "value back" at individual outlets no longer fit the strategy. SBI and Tata replaced the range with cards that earn NeuCoins directly — a cleaner, more valuable proposition where 1 NeuCoin equals ₹1 across the whole group.
What to get instead
If you are researching this card because you hold it, or because you found an old reference to it, the modern equivalents are:
- Tata Neu Infinity SBI Card — the true successor. 5% NeuCoins across the Tata group, a market-low 1.99% forex markup, RuPay UPI earning and international lounges, for the same ₹1,499-class positioning.
- Tata Neu Plus SBI Card — the low-fee (₹499) entry version for lighter Tata spenders.
- For spending that is not Tata-centric, a flat-cashback card such as the SBI Cashback is simpler and often pays more.
The bottom line
The Tata Card SELECT did a reasonable job for its time — accelerated points on everyday categories plus Tata-outlet perks and milestone vouchers — but it is a closed, legacy product and there is no way to obtain it new. If you still hold one, compare its ongoing value against the Tata Neu Infinity SBI Card, which earns materially more across the Tata ecosystem and comes with a far better forex markup.
