A quieter week on the cards themselves, but a lot was announced for the weeks ahead. If you hold a Jupiter Edge+, a OneCard, an IDFC FIRST card, a MakeMyTrip ICICI or any Amex, read on.
The short version
- Jupiter Edge+ pays its full 10% on named shopping brands only in cycles where you spend more than ₹15,000.
- OneCard's late payment charges went up on 11 October.
- From 26 October most IDFC FIRST cards stop earning points on international spends, and the IndiGo IDFC card earns a third as many BluChips abroad.
- From 10 November the MakeMyTrip ICICI card drops its forex markup to zero, and international spends outside MakeMyTrip stop earning myCash.
- American Express India moves to a new card platform on 15 November: points kept separately for each card, the MRCC's 50% fee waiver ends, and late fees are based on the total due.
What changed on your cards
Jupiter Edge+: the 10% now has a spend bar. From 5 October a purchase at Amazon, Flipkart or the card's other named brands earns 5 Jewels per ₹100 straight away. The other 45 Jewels per ₹100 that make up the 10% land at the end of the statement cycle, and only if your qualifying spend that cycle tops ₹15,000; otherwise they're cancelled and those brands earn 1%, like everything else. The caps don't change, and neither does the 25 Jewels per ₹100 on Jupiter Flights. CSB Bank, which issues the card, dates the change from 5 October, while Jupiter's own terms page says 10 October. If your monthly spend on the card sits near ₹15,000, a planned purchase can tip the whole cycle over the bar.
OneCard: higher late fees. From 11 October the BOBCARD-issued OneCard charges ₹700 instead of ₹500 when ₹1,001 to ₹5,000 is outstanding. The single ₹1,000 charge for ₹5,001 to ₹25,000 becomes three steps of ₹1,000, ₹1,100 and ₹1,200, and above ₹25,000 it rises from ₹1,250 to ₹1,300. Balances up to ₹1,000 don't attract it, and it applies only if the minimum amount due isn't paid by the due date, so an autopay for the minimum is the simplest way never to see it.
The record for this week: dates, before and after, sources
Late payment charges raised
₹500 (₹1,001–5,000) · ₹1,000 (₹5,001–25,000) · ₹1,250 (over ₹25,000)→₹700 (₹1,001–5,000) · ₹1,000 / ₹1,100 / ₹1,200 (to ₹10,000 / ₹15,000 / ₹25,000) · ₹1,300 (over ₹25,000)
From 11 October 2026 BOBCARD raises the OneCard's late payment charges. When ₹1,001 to ₹5,000 is outstanding the charge goes from ₹500 to ₹700; the single ₹1,000 slab for ₹5,001 to ₹25,000 is split into ₹1,000 up to ₹10,000, ₹1,100 up to ₹15,000 and ₹1,200 up to ₹25,000; and above ₹25,000 it goes from ₹1,250 to ₹1,300. Balances up to ₹1,000 are unchanged, and the charge applies only when the minimum amount due is not paid by the due date.

Shopping 10% needs more than ₹15,000 of spend in the statement cycle
50 Jewels per ₹100 on every eligible purchase→5 Jewels per ₹100 instantly; 45 more only if cycle spend tops ₹15,000
From 5 October 2026 the 10% shopping rate (50 Jewels per ₹100) at Amazon, Flipkart and Jupiter's other named brands is paid in two parts. 5 Jewels per ₹100 are credited on every purchase; the other 45 are added at the end of the statement cycle only if total qualifying spend in that cycle is more than ₹15,000, and are cancelled if it is not. In a lighter cycle the named brands therefore earn 1%, the same as everyday spend. The caps of 1,000 Jewels a transaction, 3,000 a merchant and 10,000 a cycle, the 25 Jewels per ₹100 on Jupiter Flights and everyday earning are unchanged. The two issuer-side documents disagree on the start date: CSB Bank's card terms date the new table from 5 October 2026 ("Applicable 05th October, 2026 onwards"), while Jupiter's own terms page gives 10 October ("Applicable till 09th October, 2026" for the old table). This record follows CSB, the issuer; a statement from the first days of October may still show the old rate.

Rules and bank news
American Express India: a new platform on 15 November, and what changes with it. Amex's own page for cardmembers lists the changes, which several reports had dated 11 October. From 15 November, if you hold two or more basic Amex cards, your Membership Rewards points are kept separately for each card. Milestone spend is counted by the date a transaction posts, with the bonus at the end of that month, on the Platinum Reserve, Platinum Travel, Gold, Membership Rewards card and SmartEarn. If a payment is still due when your next statement is generated, you stop earning and redeeming points until it's paid. The MRCC's 50% fee waiver on ₹90,000 of spend ends, and late fees on Amex's credit cards (not its charge cards) are based on the total amount due, from ₹500 to ₹1,250. Two dates come sooner: the complimentary Ace by Times Prime membership on the Centurion and Platinum ends on 20 October, and new supplementary card applications pause from 27 October, so apply before then if you were planning one. Amex has paused new card applications in India, so all of this is for existing members.
The RBI raised the repo rate to 5.50%. The Monetary Policy Committee raised it by 0.25 percentage points on 7 October (RBI). Credit card interest isn't tied to the repo rate, since each bank sets its own, so nothing on your card changes because of it. The simplest way to keep card interest at zero is still to pay the full statement balance by the due date.
Coming up
IDFC FIRST: no points on international spends from 26 October. As IDFC told cardmembers in September, international spends stop earning reward points on every IDFC FIRST card except the Ashva, Mayura, Gaj, FIRST Private, FIRST WOW!, FIRST WOW! Black and IndiGo, which ends the 10X rate abroad on the Classic, Millennia, Select and FIRST Wealth. The IndiGo card keeps earning but drops from 3 BluChips per ₹100 to 1 on international spends. The zero forex markup stays on all of them, so they remain a cheap way to pay abroad; if you want points on that spend too, look at another low-markup card.
MakeMyTrip ICICI: zero forex from 10 November, with a catch. ICICI is dropping the 0.99% forex markup and the 0.99% fee on purchases abroad billed in rupees. On the same day, international spends outside MakeMyTrip stop earning the 1% myCash, and myCash earned from 10 November expires after 24 months, where until now it never expired. The older MakeMyTrip ICICI Signature and Platinum cards aren't part of it. Since the markup that goes (0.99% plus GST) is slightly bigger than the myCash that goes, the card still comes out a little cheaper abroad.
- 15 October: the UPI merchant fee starts. Shops pay it, you don't.
- 20 October: Ace by Times Prime ends on the Amex Centurion and Platinum.
- 23 October: the SBM ZET card's late fee becomes 5% of the outstanding (minimum ₹50, maximum ₹1,000), and its ₹499 closure fee applies to cards closed within two years of activation instead of one.
- 27 October: Amex pauses new supplementary card applications.
- 31 October: last day of spends on Axis Bank's Vistara cards.
- 1 November: movie offers on the Axis Select, Privilege, MyZone, Neo and IndiGo Axis Premium, and the MyZone's District buy-one-get-one, need ₹25,000 of spend in the previous three months.
- 15 November: Amex's new platform changes start, and complimentary memberships on Axis's premium cards renew only if you opt in.

From 23 October 2026 SBM charges its ₹499 + GST cancellation fee on an SBM ZET card closed within two years of activation, up from one year. The fee itself is unchanged, and the card still has no joining or annual fee, so a reader who builds a score and closes the card should plan on keeping it for two years.

International spends stop earning reward points
Reward points on international spends at the card's own rate→No reward points on international spends
From 26 October 2026 IDFC FIRST Bank credit cards stop earning reward points on international spends, except the Ashva, Mayura, Gaj, FIRST Private, FIRST WOW!, FIRST WOW! Black and IndiGo cards. IDFC announced it in its 9 September 2026 letter to cardmembers, the same letter that removed the forex markup, so paying abroad still costs no markup but earns nothing. On the Classic, Millennia, Select and FIRST Wealth this ends the 10X rate on international spends.

District movie buy-one-get-one becomes spend-gated
Available to every cardholder each month→Requires ₹25,000 of spend in the previous 3 months
From 1 November 2026 the MyZone buy-one-get-one movie offer at District is no longer unconditional — Axis requires ₹25,000 of spend in the previous three calendar months to qualify. The bar is waived for the month a card is issued plus the following three calendar months, but an upgrade between variants does not count as a new issuance. Only settled transactions count, and interest, fees, charges, reversals and refunds are excluded. This turns the card's signature entertainment perk into a spend-conditional one, in the same shape as the lounge gate added in 2024.

Movie offer now needs Rs 25,000 of spend in the previous 3 months
Movie offer available to every cardholder, no spend condition→Rs 25,000 of eligible spend in the preceding 3 calendar months
From 1 November 2026 the card's movie benefit becomes spend-gated: you need Rs 25,000 of eligible spend in the previous three calendar months to qualify. A newly issued card is exempt for its issuance month plus the following three calendar months — but an upgrade between variants does not count as a new card. Only settled transactions count, settlement can lag the transaction by up to five working days, and interest, fees, charges, reversals and refunds are all excluded. EMI transactions count only at the monthly instalment billed, not the full purchase value.
▼ BenefitComplimentary memberships renew only if you opt in
Memberships renewed automatically each year→Renewed only with the cardholder's explicit consent
From 15 November 2026 the complimentary memberships attached to the card — the lifestyle, dining and travel programmes bundled with the annual fee — renew only if you actively consent. Axis says renewal details and consent options will be shared closer to each renewal date. Read it as a cost-control move: a benefit you have to remember to claim is a benefit fewer people claim, so if you value one of these memberships, watch for the consent prompt rather than assuming it rolls over.

International spends outside MakeMyTrip stop earning myCash
1% myCash→No myCash
From 10 November 2026 the card's terms list international spends outside MakeMyTrip as earning no rewards, where they earned 1% myCash, and the 1% on other MakeMyTrip spends becomes 1% on other domestic ones. It lands with the end of the forex mark-up: the 0.99% plus GST that goes is slightly more than the 1% myCash that goes with it.
