Membership Rewards points kept separately for each card
One points balance across all your basic cards→A separate balance for each card; points cannot be moved between cards
From 15 November 2026, a member who holds two or more basic American Express cards has a separate Membership Rewards balance on each card, where today the points of all of them sit in one account. Existing points are split by the card that earned them, each card redeems from its own balance, and moving points from one card to another ends for good. Earn rates, redemption options and the value of a point do not change. A member who combined several cards' points to reach a bigger redemption now has to reach it on one card's balance.
▼ BenefitNew Account Cards no longer issued
New Account Cards available on request→No new Account Cards; existing ones keep working
From 15 November 2026 American Express stops issuing new Account Cards, the extra cards in a member's own name used to keep certain spends separate. Requests, including replacements for a lost, stolen or expired Account Card, are taken until 27 October, and an application started by then is completed by 3 November. An Account Card already issued keeps working.
◆ RewardPoints paused on a card still overdue at its next statement
No redemptions on any card while one is overdue→No earning or redemption on that card from its next statement until paid
From 15 November 2026, if a payment is still due when a card's next statement is generated, that card stops earning and redeeming Membership Rewards points from that statement date until the overdue balance is paid. Points already earned stay, and the member's other cards carry on, since each keeps its own balance. Amex's current Membership Rewards terms already forfeit the points of a statement left unpaid by the due date (reinstatable for a fee) and block redemptions on every card while any one is overdue; the new page does not say whether the forfeiture clause stays. Paying the overdue amount before the next statement date avoids the pause.
◆ MilestoneMilestone spend counted by posting date
Spend counted by purchase date→Spend counted by posting date; bonus by the end of that month
From 15 November 2026, spend towards a milestone counts on the date a transaction posts to the card rather than the date of the purchase, and the bonus points or voucher are credited by the end of the calendar month in which the milestone is reached. A purchase made on 30 November that posts in December counts towards December. Regular earning does not change, and bonuses already earned stay. A member aiming for a monthly milestone near the end of a month should allow a few days for purchases to post.
▼ FeeLate payment fee set on the total amount due
30% of the minimum amount due, ₹500 to ₹1,000→Slabs on the total amount due, ₹500 to ₹1,250
On statements generated after 15 November 2026, the late payment fee on American Express's credit cards is set by slabs of the total amount due, from ₹500 to ₹1,250, instead of 30% of the minimum amount due within ₹500 to ₹1,000. It is charged when nothing, or less than the minimum amount due, is paid by the due date. Amex says the change brings the fee in line with RBI requirements and refers members to its updated MITC, effective 15 November, for the slabs. Amex's charge cards are not affected.

50% renewal-fee waiver at ₹90,000 of spend withdrawn
100% waived at ₹1,50,000 of annual spend; 50% at ₹90,000–₹1,49,999→100% waived at ₹1,50,000 of annual spend; no 50% tier
From 15 November 2026 American Express withdraws the MRCC's 50% renewal-fee waiver, which halved the ₹4,500 (plus GST) renewal fee for a member who spent ₹90,000 to ₹1,49,999 in a card membership year. Amex's notice names only the 50% tier; the full waiver at ₹1.5 lakh of annual spend, which its MRCC page lists, is not mentioned. A member spending between ₹90,000 and ₹1.5 lakh a year now pays the full fee.

Memberships renewed automatically each year→Renewed only with the cardholder's explicit consent
From 15 November 2026 the complimentary memberships attached to the card — the lifestyle, dining and travel programmes bundled with the annual fee — renew only if you actively consent. Axis says renewal details and consent options will be shared closer to each renewal date. Read it as a cost-control move: a benefit you have to remember to claim is a benefit fewer people claim, so if you value one of these memberships, watch for the consent prompt rather than assuming it rolls over.
▼ BenefitMovie offer now needs Rs 25,000 of spend in the previous 3 months
Movie offer available to every cardholder, no spend condition→Rs 25,000 of eligible spend in the preceding 3 calendar months
From 1 November 2026 the card's movie benefit becomes spend-gated: you need Rs 25,000 of eligible spend in the previous three calendar months to qualify. A newly issued card is exempt for its issuance month plus the following three calendar months — but an upgrade between variants does not count as a new card. Only settled transactions count, settlement can lag the transaction by up to five working days, and interest, fees, charges, reversals and refunds are all excluded. EMI transactions count only at the monthly instalment billed, not the full purchase value.
▼ LoungePriority Pass stops working at Indian domestic lounges
Priority Pass accepted at eligible Indian domestic lounges→Credit card + boarding pass only; Priority Pass domestic-invalid in India
From 28 August 2026 the Priority Pass card is no longer valid for entry to domestic airport lounges in India. Axis directs cardholders to present the credit card itself with the boarding pass at the lounge reception instead. The allowance is unchanged — this is an authentication change, not a cut — but it matters if you were spending Priority Pass visits domestically, because those visits now have to come from the card's own domestic allocation. One useful carve-out in Axis's own words: lounges at Indian international terminals AFTER immigration still count as international and can still be entered with Priority Pass.

District movie buy-one-get-one becomes spend-gated
Available to every cardholder each month→Requires ₹25,000 of spend in the previous 3 months
From 1 November 2026 the MyZone buy-one-get-one movie offer at District is no longer unconditional — Axis requires ₹25,000 of spend in the previous three calendar months to qualify. The bar is waived for the month a card is issued plus the following three calendar months, but an upgrade between variants does not count as a new issuance. Only settled transactions count, and interest, fees, charges, reversals and refunds are excluded. From 5 October 2026 the 10% shopping rate (50 Jewels per ₹100) at Amazon, Flipkart and Jupiter's other named brands is paid in two parts. 5 Jewels per ₹100 are credited on every purchase; the other 45 are added at the end of the statement cycle only if total qualifying spend in that cycle is more than ₹15,000, and are cancelled if it is not. In a lighter cycle the named brands therefore earn 1%, the same as everyday spend. The caps of 1,000 Jewels a transaction, 3,000 a merchant and 10,000 a cycle, the 25 Jewels per ₹100 on Jupiter Flights and everyday earning are unchanged. The two issuer-side documents disagree on the start date: CSB Bank's card terms date the new table from 5 October 2026 ("Applicable 05th October, 2026 onwards"), while Jupiter's own terms page gives 10 October ("Applicable till 09th October, 2026" for the old table). The allowance itself is unchanged at up to 8 visits a year; what changed is that lumpy spenders now lose whole quarters, since the ₹1 lakh has to land inside one quarter and does not carry over. The ₹4 lakh tier and its 10,000 points are untouched. Cumulatively a member who spends ₹7 lakh goes from 40,000 milestone points plus a ₹10,000 Taj voucher to 10,000 points plus a ₹20,000 Taj card — at this card's conservative ₹0.50/point that is roughly ₹30,000 of milestone value down to ₹25,000, and the loss is worse below ₹7 lakh because the entry tier now pays nothing at all. The bigger change is in kind rather than in size: 22,500 Membership Rewards points could transfer to Marriott Bonvoy or KrisFlyer, while a Taj e-Gift Card is only worth its face value to someone who was going to spend ₹20,000 at Taj anyway. This is the second devaluation of the same ladder in six months, after the 9 March 2026 restructure.

Standalone fee doubles to ₹1,00,000 for holders below the ₹5 crore relationship bar
₹50,000 + GST→₹1,00,000 + GST
Axis's customer notice states that from 1 September 2026 a revised annual fee of ₹1 lakh plus GST applies to the Burgundy Private - The One Card where total relationship value falls below ₹5 crore, doubling it from ₹50,000. The fee stays nil for clients who hold the relationship, so this bites only on the way out of the tier. Axis's own documents already disagree ahead of the date: the MITC prints ₹1,00,000 for both joining and annual fee today, while the Key Fact Sheet still prints ₹50,000. This is a separate date from the 28 August 2026 T&C batch and should not be folded into it.

Card phased out: holders move to Swiggy Ornge or Swiggy BLCK
HDFC is phasing the Swiggy HDFC Bank Credit Card out for every holder, with notices going out in phases until March 2027. Holders choose the Swiggy BLCK card (10% on Swiggy, ₹1,000 a year, first year free for a holder who pays a fee now) or the Swiggy Ornge card (5% on Swiggy, lifetime free for every moved holder); a holder who does not respond is moved to Ornge after at least 30 days' notice. The fee anniversary restarts and the card number changes, and the old card stops at the first use of the new one, after 60 days, or at its expiry. HDFC's own files date the process to September (migration terms dated 18-09-2026, both FAQs published on 30 September 2026); the exact start is not published. Rated a devaluation because both routes cost a heavy Swiggy user: the default halves the Swiggy rate, and the route that keeps 10% costs ₹1,000 a year.

Etihad Guest removed as a transfer partner
Etihad Guest at 1:1; 18 airline partners + 8 hotel partners (26 total)→Etihad Guest removed; 17 airline partners + 8 hotel partners (25 total)
SBI retired Etihad Guest from the MILES-family transfer table with no customer notice we could find. Pinned on both sides: the Wayback capture of 4 Aug 2026 still lists it as airline row 8, "Etihad Airways / Etihad Guest / 1:1", among 18 airlines, while the live PDF read on 15 Aug 2026 contains the string "Etihad" zero times across all seven pages and lists 17. The change therefore lands between 4 and 13 August 2026, narrower than the 30 Jul–13 Aug window first recorded. Hotel partners are untouched at 8 and no other ratio moved. Applies identically to MILES, MILES PRIME and Miles Elite — SBI publishes one transfer table with no per-card qualifier; the three differ in earn rate only. WARNING FOR ANYONE RE-READING THE RAW DIFF: its excerpts appear to say Cathay Pacific was removed. That is an artefact of the renumbering (old rows 9-18 became 8-17) mis-pairing chunks — Cathay is still row 7 and still transfers at 1:1.

Qatar Airways Privilege Club returns as a transfer partner
Qatar Airways Privilege Club unavailable — removed 2 April 2026
Qatar Airways Privilege Club is back in Axis Bank's published EDGE Miles transfer table. Axis gave no notice either way: it was absent from our 16 July 2026 capture of the Travel EDGE terms and present in the 5 August 2026 capture, which now lists 24 partners, so the return landed somewhere in that window and 5 August is the date we verified it. This reverses only part of the April cull — Accor Live Limitless and Marriott Bonvoy remain gone — and Privilege Club does not come back on its old terms. On the Atlas it lands in the premium-Avios rate family alongside British Airways, Finnair, IndiGo BluChip and Vietnam Airlines — 2 EDGE Miles to 1 Avios, not the 1:2 the Atlas gets on KrisFlyer, Flying Blue or Air India. Group A caps the route at about 30,000 EDGE Miles a year.

Open to new applicants (reopened September 2025)→Paused for new applicants (existing cardmembers unaffected)
American Express closed the Platinum Card to new applicants in India again during August 2026, ending the reopening that had run since September 2025. Amex's own product page carries the notice "We are temporarily pausing the acceptance of new card applications in India as we make planned updates to our technology platforms for domestic card issuing operations", and the same notice appears on every American Express India card page — so the pause now covers the whole line-up rather than the four cards that had stayed shut since March 2025. Existing cardmembers keep the card and every benefit. An availability change, not a change to the card's rewards or fees. Fee-waiver clause widened — add-on spends count, anniversary year, GST reversed
₹8L on the primary card, measured over the financial year→₹8L across primary + add-on cards, measured over the card anniversary year
HSBC republished the TravelOne MITC and rewrote the ₹4,999 fee-waiver clause without moving the ₹8,00,000 threshold. Spend on add-on cards now counts towards it; the measurement window moved from the financial year to the card anniversary year, so a card set up mid-year no longer gets a stub window to clear ₹8 lakh in; and the reversal now covers the fee including GST — ₹5,899 back rather than ₹4,999. All three shifts favour the cardholder. HSBC published no effective date: the document is stamped 7/26 and carried the new wording when read on 31 July 2026, so the date here is the observation date, not an announced one.

IndusInd stops describing the card as having no joining fee
Product page: "Lifetime Free - Zero Joining Fee & Zero Annual Fee"→Product page: "No Annual Fees"; FAQ: "only a one-time joining fee applicable"
Between 14 April and 31 July 2026 IndusInd rewrote the Platinum RuPay's fee disclosure in two places at once. The hero tile changed from "Lifetime Free - Zero Joining Fee & Zero Annual Fee" to "No Annual Fees", and the FAQ changed from "you do not have to pay any joining fees or annual fees at all" to "has only a one-time joining fee applicable; there is no annual fee". Both edits delete the zero-joining-fee claim and align the page with IndusInd's MITC, which has listed a ₹10,000 joining fee for this card since at least August 2025. The annual fee remains genuinely nil. IndusInd issued no notice — the wording simply changed. Note the bank's own navigation still badges the card "Lifetime Free" and still links a "Get Lifetime-Free Platinum RuPay Credit Card" campaign, so an applicant may still encounter the old claim; the MITC states that actual fees are conveyed at the time of application.
